The town of Ishim

Opal nodded towards the guard as she was dragged out of the doors of the prison. She hadn't exactly cared or noticed before but the outside of the prison was actually pretty fancy, it was covered almost fully in vines, but those vines looked nice and added to the image rather than take away. The building was also a sky blue color for some weird reason that even the person who decided on painting it blue didn't know why they decided to paint it blue. When they walked past the guards at the entrance to the city they were in, the guards started towards Opal and the Assassin-who-was-apparently-not-an-assassin but paused when they realized who it was. "Oh, uh, lord Ishim, I didn't expect you to be here in this city." Opal heard this and looked over at the lord standing next to her, she had only heard of lords, but she had often heard small gossip about them, most things she had heard were that they were secluded and were more of an image of leadership rather than the actual leader of their towns. Lord Ishim just stared at the guard, aware of Opal's confusion. Finally he spoke up "Since I know you are wondering, yes, I am the lord Ishim, but I had to find somebody who could help."

Opal wasn't too incredibly impressed with a lord who would run away from a demon attacking the roads outside of their town, but played along anyways. "Anyways, we had better go before bad things happen." the lord quickly ended the conversation and rushed out the gates with Opal in tow. It wasn't an incredibly long walk to get to Ishim, only a few hours away by walking, but Opal and the lord got there fairly fast due to both of them being able to move quickly for long periods of time. During the walk, not many conversations were spoken, but the main question asked was about the demon. The demon was apparently a class 1 demon, but Ishim being a town of mainly merchants, very few citizens could actually hold their own for very long. When they arrived, there were a few people poking their heads out to see the cause of the few cheers, but for the most part, it reminded Opal of a ghost town. Opal hadn't thought much about Luna in recent times, having been focused on the task at hand, but not that there was much going on for Luna. She had kept growing abnormally quickly, but it had started to slow, she had been quite shocked to find wings on her back, but other than that, the orb had grown quite a bit, about half the height of a person, and Luna spent most of her free time using her "link" as she called it to look at what Opal was doing, almost like a movie in third person. Opal heard Luna's voice in her mind as she was staring at the town, saying "I wonder what this demon looks like", but Opal just grunted a bit in reply, she had never really figured out Luna, how clueless she was in a lot of ways such as magic and the fact that demons were a pretty common thing, she didn't even know what a demon was, but instead, she had referenced some random names and this thing called a TV that she had talked about. Demons were pretty common in general but were often of varying degrees of danger to people. Usually demons are enhanced in many ways from regular animals or monsters. Almost anything could be demonized, such as a dragon or a rabbit, even to some metal mechanisms. There were 5 rankings to demons.

Rank 1 (Duel level)

Rank 2 (Threat level)

Rank 3 (Elimination level)

Rank 4 (Semi-impossible level)

Rank 5 (Divine level)

Most demons were only rank 1, but when it got to really anything above rank 2, you had a big problem. Opal was dragged by the lord to his quarters to discuss terms, not that there were many terms to be met, but Opal wanted nothing to do with this town and lord after she killed the demon. There wasn't much to talk about, it was just explaining Opal's freedom after she killed it; that she would be given basic necessities and sent outside of her hometown's walls. She wouldn't be allowed back in, much to her annoyance, but she could live outside the walls, as well as the tracker stuck in her arm would be taken out. Next, it was time for the armory, one can't fight a demon without a weapon of course. Opal took two shortswords to quickly surround the demon and kill it without hurting her usual speed. She was also given some basic armor but it wasn't really enough armor to defend from any attacks, and she was sent outside of the walls to face the demon as quickly as possible.
