A quest.

A knock on the door was enough to wake Luna up. Luna hadn't really had all that much testing done on her when the doctor had seen Luna's sudden change in height. "come in!" Luna called to whoever had knocked. the door opened, revealing the assistant doctor, who was actually quite nice in Luna's opinion, in a lab coat staring at an ipod. The assistant was about to say something but froze when she looked up from the ipod at Luna. Her eyes widened and she gasped. Luna didn't notice anything different with her but based on the looks given from the assistant, Luna was probably a bit different from the last time the assistant had seen her. "yes? From the look you're giving me, I'm no longer human or something anymore...".

the assistant stammered at Luna, who was still concerned for the assistant doctor's sanity at this point, having stared at Luna for quite a while now.

"Spit it out, I'm not gonna wait forever."

the assistant finally answered Luna's question, not by talking but pointing instead. Luna turned around, trying to see behind her, where the assistant was pointing. As she turned around, she felt a scraping, not necessarily on her back, but on some part of her body. She couldn't quite pinpoint the location, but she stopped caring after a few seconds of wondering. Luna sighed, at some point, this assistant, as nice as she was in most cases, was intruding of Luna's privacy. "please leave and don't say a word about this to the doctor."

the assistant gave a slight nod and shuffled out the door.

Opal had seen a bit of what had happened with Luna and the assistant doctor but didn't ask too many questions. The soldier that had come into Opal's room before Luna fainted hadn't said very much had left shortly after. This time, another soldier came in. they looked a lot more ragged than the previous soldier and seemed a bit drunk, but they seemed to have their mind to themselves despite the large probability that he had had quite a bit of alcohol in the past few hours. he had a very small broadsword in his sheath that he held at his side. "Are you Opal? the man asked in a surprisingly smooth voice contrary to his appearance

"who's asking?"

"me, I need a favor, and if you are up for it I can get you your rightful freedom back." Opal was interested. She looked at the man and said "alright I'm interested, depending on what you want."

"my town has enough clout towards this city to get you out of this jail but possibly not enough to keep you from being banned in this city. My town has a demon preventing travel and goods to be traded, and the economy is almost destroyed. I want you to help our town, and then I can get you out of here.".

Opal knew the rules of the city, if you're caught outside of the walls without a permit, you are banned from entering the city again until you have a permit from another town or city that is well known. Opal wasn't exactly supposed to know how they catch everyone so easily that goes outside of the walls, but years previously she had seen her friend's arm get torn open in a freak accident and she had seen the small magic stone stuck in her arm. Nobody, not even the town's lord really knew why the walls were there, but everybody believed in staying in the walls.

"okay, I'll help you out, but only because I want to be freed from this pit of despair.". It was surprisingly boring in this cell but she could care less about the food. The 'soldier' walked out of the room and looked for the main guard to speak about Opal's release on the condition that she helped the next the next town over . the guard agreed and told him that it was fine. the 'soldier' walked back and opened Opal's door wide open using the keys he had been given previously. Opal walked to the door and hesitated when she saw the 'soldier' standing outside and asked "why me?". The 'soldier' stroked his chin thoughtfully and replied with a shrug.

"I know that you didn't mean harm when you went outside of the walls, and I know you felt something." Opal nodded in understanding and realized who this man was, recognizing the voice from before, after she had entered the clearing. It was the assassin. They left the building and started heading to the next town over...
