Opal opened her eyes to see a cold stone floor and bland walls, the prison. Opal hadn't ever really been here before, but had heard the stories. It wasn't exactly as menacing of a stone room as Opal had thought, but she already felt the blandness of the room trying to dig into her sanity. Opal recalled the last thing she remembered, she had walked to the forest for some reason unknown to her and had touched that orb thing. 'oh, that's right, that voice in my head, it came when I touched the orb'. Opal tried to speak in her mind to this voice, but had no luck, pausing for a moment to remember that she was in a prison cell and should probably try to talk to someone in order to get out. Both in her mind to the voice and out loud to anybody nearby, "Hello? Is anybody there?". Opal hadn't exactly figured that anybody would respond, but in her mind, she heard the voice yawning. Opal was still a little freaked out that she had a voice inside her head, but at least it was something to talk to. Opal introduced herself to the voice, asking what it was. "My name is Luna", the voice said in Opal's mind. Opal heard some footsteps and looked at her door, hoping that maybe the guard was bringing her food or something. Opal's eyes widened when the door opened, she knew this guard, and had remembered seeing him as well before her vision had gone black when she was confronted.
Luna stared at the wall, waiting for some sign that Opal was still trying to talk to her, Opal had just gone completely silent. Luna kept trying to talk to Opal, but after a little while realized that something had happened. Luna looked back at the orb and noticed that it had gotten bigger in the past day. Luna was also taller in the past day, but there weren't any mirrors for her to confirm that suspicion.
Opal had heard Luna, but was thinking about what to say to the guard. The guard lost his patience and decided to go first.
"Um, may I ask why you were in the forest?"
Opal stared at the guard, contemplating what to say in response. Saying that she had just felt like she needed to would make her sound weird and make it harder for her to get out. "I was threatened." Opal was lying, but when she had felt that need to leave the walls, she knew that she was almost getting threatened by fate rather than a person. "Okay, who threatened you?" the guard felt like Opal was being suspicious with the way she had responded, but he didn't really mind. Opal knew that there were fairly common reports of people in other cities getting singled out by groups of people and being forced out of the walls surrounding their cities, and she decided to convince the guard that she was one of the victims of that. Before she said anything, she felt something like a clicking in her mind and felt like her memory of everything that had happened in the past day was getting copied and moved somewhere else. "I was threatened by the group, I think they called themselves S.O.A.P.S. Sadistic Overpowered Angry Powerful Squad."
Luna also felt this 'mind clicking' and experienced the same phenomenon as well. She laughed when she heard Opal talking about S.O.A.P.S. to the guard, but she didn't know how she could hear Opal talking to the guard or even how in the side of her vision she saw what looked like another stone box with a guard standing in the doorway.
Opal saw a box pop up in the side of her vision with a stone room as well, but there was nothing in it except for what looked like a small bed and a closed door. Both Opal and Luna asked the same question in their minds to the other. "Are you seeing my room?" And had a long conversation between each other in less than a second, none of them really paying any more attention to their surroundings except when they stopped conversing. Opal remembered that there was in fact a guard in her room, and that she should probably do something about getting out. Opal conversed with the guard for a while longer while Luna sat and listened. Focusing on the guard for a while, Luna realized that this guard was not in fact human, and had small ears and a tail that would move around every so often. Luna quickly asked Opal about the guard, and tried to see more of the room just from looking through what Opal was looking at. Luna heard a small voice in her mind, she couldn't tell if the voice was male or female, but wasn't exactly paying much attention. Luna did hear what the robotic sounding voice said though, and felt a sharp pain in her back.
As Luna fell to the ground, falling unconscious from the pain, she heard the voice again.
