Dancing In the Rain

The gentle brush of a cool breeze was what she felt when her eyes opened. Malik's fingers played with her traces, humming a tune she was familiar with.

It was the same tune she always hummed to comfort him. She looked up at him unsure, searching for answers in his gaze.

How long has she wandered away from him? From the lack of confusion and panic on him, it didn't seem long. " My prince, you've hardly spoken after I told you the truth. Are you feeling bad for me?"

He smiled, pulling her closer. " I don't feel bad for you. I just feel that I am slowly becoming a burden instead of a source of relief. Anyways, I stayed silent because I realized your consciousness wandered. Your mother?"

She gasped. How did he know? Could he tell? the questions were on the tip of her tongue but she couldn't voice them because she was shocked.
