Living in the moment

"Look at them. Aren't they perfect together? Why would you want to break such a rare bond? You have men pursuing your left and right. I still stand by my beliefs. Leave them alone."

Nana's words did nothing to douse the fire that was burning inside her. She wasn't ready to let them be. Not now, not ever. At least as long as they were around, she would try to get her way.

For Mara, it was no longer about her feelings. Her pride was hurt when her grandmother chided her. Being the perfect child, she always got praised and supported in whatever decisions she made.

Truthfully, she was the apple of their eyes. That was before she decided to claim a man who belonged to another.

The rain falling outside was a bane for her. While the couple enjoyed its grace, the woman inside hated it.

Of course, she had reasons for that. If she could, she would have gone out in the rain. Sadly, the spirits weren't as strong as the rest of the species.
