Rise of the Hyuga Pt.IV

In the Hokage's office, Tsunade felt a sudden episode of goosebumps. Across the village, Tokuma Hyuga had entered his intelligence division and ran into Anko. She was loud and upbeat as usual. But the good part was that she was asking him out for drinks.

Tokuma is a workaholic and was likely to reject her. Anko was asking him out because the Jonin population in the village was still holding fast at the minimum safety numbers. Tokuma respectfully declined as he made his way to the communication center with a stamped letter from Hyuga Clan Head. Anko was none the wiser about what was happening.

After he gave the letter to the communication team, every Hyuga on a mission was alerted instantly.

The day after, not a Hyuga in the village could be found. And unbeknownst to Tsunade, Hyuga shinobi on missions had assassinated their teammates in the dead of night.

Within the Hyuga compound, Hisashi had sent a bird to Tsunade and told her the clan was in deep contemplation of the next great Elder of the Hyuga Clan. For a family that places strong importance on blood and pedigree, Tsunade knew it would take the clan a few days. But still, she felt anxious.

Calling for her assistant, Tsunade requested Hyuga's history. Specifically, times elders had been pushed to the branch family as punishment and the selection process of elders.

As Tsunade was reading up, the Hyuga clan was tense, as those who sided with Hisashi faced the united forces of Masato's Main Branch loyalist and the Matsu's Branch Family.

"Son, end this. Can't you see what's happening? Our time here is finished." Said Masato.

"That daughter of mine..."

"Is a shinobi!" Masato growled," She has never betrayed this clan, only the village. If that doesn't sit well with you then you should have handled it within the clan. You left her to outsiders. You killed someone who was only carrying out his oath of fealty to Hinata."

"He aided her in the theft of Otsu Scroll. That is punishable by death." Hiashi retorted.

Masato scuffed. "She was going to make the trip to the family shrine. You know Hinata. She's a bit unruly but she would have respected tradition as long as she was told."

"And the theft of Jonin level jutsu that you allowed?" Hiashi asked.

At this point, Matsu and Masato laughed.

"We knew," said Matsu. "We're Bayakugan users. We see it all. I also saw her share with Neji. A lowly member of the branch family. To be a shinobi is to keep secrets, in this family the best secrets are the ones you aren't permitted to have. That means taking Jonin level jutsu when everyone respects little of you."

"It was you who turned her over to the kunoichi, remember? Deception is a part of the trade." Masato added.

Masato sighed and signaled a servant. The silver-haired girl that Hinata saved came out and set up a table and chair for the elders. Hiashi saw the girl and chuckled. Hanabi pointed at the girl as she gasped.

Hanabi then looked behind her and confirmed that the silver-haired girl was the one that her sister told her to keep close.

"My official stamp... She's the one that got it for you." Said Hiashi.

His father was going to speak when he suddenly said, "I know. I know. She was just carrying out her duties to Hinata. That girl is a devious one."

"Like your great-grandmother," Matsu added as the silver-haired girl poured his tea.

"What now?" Hiashi asked.

"Now you decided if you want a civil war, father. Then you decided how you want me to kill you." Hinata spoke out as she and her team appeared.

"Did you ever even leave the village?" her father asked.

"I did. But before I left, I said I will kill you." She spoke in a dark tone and Hanabi stepped in front of her father.

Masato sighed. How far we have fallen, Masato thought.

"Hinata. You said that you wish to take the clan. Your father is a part of the clan. Find it in your heart to forgive him."

"He killed Ko and humiliated you," Hinata spoke with rage.

"Still, this is not the time. The moment Tokuma returns, we must be ready."

Hinata sighed. "Father. Please stop this. Our clan has a brighter future than this and I don't want to kill my sister because she wishes to protect you."

Hinata turned away. "Neji-Niisan, how are your wounds?"

"I'm healing fine, Lady Hinata. Thanks to you for opening my eyes to the danger of the blind spot. I survived because of you" Neji bowed deeply.

'So the Chunin exam paid off...He would have been in worse shape if he had to learn about his blindspot in the heat of battle against the sound ninja four.' Hinata quickly thought.

"A prodigy almost killed to save an Uchiha that didn't wish to be here. A member of a clan that the village chose to destroy. That is the type of village you sold me out to, father." Hinata stifled her anger.

"What are you talking about?" her father asked.

"Danzo and the third Hokage planned the massacre. All of it fueled when Danzo killed Shisui Uchiha."

"Shisui committed suicide," Matsu spoke with an encroaching horror of well-kept secrets.

"No. Danzo killed him. He tore out one of Shisui's eyes and injured him so badly that he was on the verge of death. Shisui then killed himself before crushing his remaining eye. I learned all of this after I pulled the secrets from Danzo." Hinata explained while changing a few details.

"A lot of things lead to their fall." Said Hiashi.

"All of which could have been averted if the village had not turned against them. Our eyes may not be as evolutionary or versatile as the Sharingan. But what will the village do if we all managed to learn the Second Hokage's jutsu?"

Hiashi shivered and her grandfather thought of the application.

"Everything within sight is my domain. At what point will it be decided that we are too strong to remain part of this village? The blood purge of Kiri. The Fall of the Uzumaki, the time of Kekkei Genkai is ending. We have to get in front of it." Said Hinata.

The clan murmured and agreed with the young lady of the family.

"The village will never allow us to leave." Her father spoke and Hinata smiled,

"Sofu!" Hinata called out, "Place the seals on everyone."

"Wait!" her father protested.

"We can't even remember why we use them." Said Hinata, " But one thing is certain when we die, the seal locks our Byakugan away. So everyone needs it because the next chapter of our clan will be a bloody one and unity is needed to survive it."

"Come on, Son. This is what it means to sacrifice for the clan. If not, our eyes will end up in the heads of men like Danzo." Masato explained.

Hisashi sighed. "Hinata, I hope you know what you're doing."

"The question is, can you watch them kill me?" Hinata glared at her father.

Hisashi then saw the pleading eyes of Hanabi looking up at him and his body slumped. "No. I can not."

Hinata was actually relieved. Very much so if she was being honest. Though she had a life before, this man is the only father she had ever had. The Hyuga Clan, in truth, is her only family. The Hinata she watched on tv and saw in the mangas never existed. Everything around her is hers and she chooses to hold on to it.

"Then you need to have faith in me. I have a plan to make us untouchable. Sofu, handle the seal. Yan Shi, you know what to do."

"Yes, Lady Hyuga." Yan Shi bowed.

Hinata signaled for the silver-haired Hyuga servant and Etsu. The trio then vanished.

"Chika, right?" Hinata asked the silvered-haired girl.

Chika nodded sheepishly.

"You're mother was Hatake. Kakashi is your cousin." Said Hinata.

"Yes, Ma'am."

"Stop with the ma'am. Many believe you should have been discarded. It wasn't until they saw your eyes when they allowed you and your mother to stay after your father was killed. The color of your hair makes everyone think you are weak. But you stole from my father to help me. I promise to make you everything but weak. "

"Thank you, Hinata-sama."

"Don't thank me yet. I need you to help Etsu kill a clan." Said Hinata.

Chika's face went pale but she nodded in understanding. The Trio vanished once, twice, then a third time. Etsu led Chika into the once-great clan and proceeded to slaughter the civilians and low-ranking shinobi. Hinata watched from a distance. She looked into the window of the second floor then appeared behind a girl.

Pah!

One chop to the back of the girl's neck and she was down for the count. Hinata tossed the girl over her shoulder, then went to finish the long-winded massacre.

Chika was in a state of shock as she panted. Her hands and face were covered in blood as she stood in a room of bodies.

"Etsu, seal the clan," Hinata ordered.

Etsu flickered away. Arranged sealing tags on the front gate of the massacred clan. Her hand moved in a blur until she slapped the gate and black script crawled out like vines to cover the perimeter.

When Etsu returned, She and Chika grabbed hold of Hinata and the Trio vanished with a captive.

"With all due respect, Sir! Lady Hyuga told me to teach you. So that's what I'm doing. That hand seal is wrong! And you're moving way too fast. You must be in sync with everyone." Yan Shi spoke to Hisashi with great frustration.

"Why do we need low-level Genin for this?"

Yan Shi sighed. "There are a lot of us. So we need a lot of chakra. Or we can walk out of the front gate and go to war...That's what I thought, let's do this again."

The Hyuga clan trained until night came. When they could no longer spare time, Hinata lead them to the Land of Jungle. After that night, the Hyuga clan would go down as the greatest defection in the leaf village history. In a single night, the bedrock of the village cracked. And the massacre of the Kurama Clan by Hinata, and the assassinations of leaf Shinobi in the field put the Hyuga Clan at the top of the wanted list.

However, many clans saw this defection as a calling of a new era. So many clans watched the Hyuga closely. Many with curiosity and the people of the leaf with a thirst for vengeance.
