Smooth Like Me (Part 2)

"I can't believe that creepy guy actually had a girlfriend." Rain said as Tye and she walked out of the theatre. Tye and Rain sat through almost 2 hrs of comedy and watched older couples around her flirt with each other. Rain was frustrated being the hardcore Marvel addict that she was. Rain was uncomfortable at all the affection around her occurring and secretly hoped Tye wouldn't try to make a move on her. To her relief he did not and instead paid attention to the movie on the screen in silence, letting them both enjoy it.

"Really? I'm not surprised psychos usually have someone who still believes in them." Tye commented. Rain furrowed her brows together before letting a sarcastic expression take over her face. "No, she was just equally messed up."

"You would say that. It's not that it was her choice. All evidence pointed to childhood trauma." Tye countered. "Childhood trauma does not account for how you turn out when you are an adult. Besides didn't Cletus kill his mother, he was literally mentally unstable." Rain stressed.

Tye pursed his lips and walked off. "Okay, smart pants. You got a point, I guess." He called back. Rain frowned and jogged trying to catch up with Tye.

"Hey, look don't be so salty about this okay. I was just…" Rain trailed off unsure what to say. She didn't expect him to get upset so fast over small banter.

Tye sighed and slowed down so she could catch up. "I'm not upset. I'm just over this conversation. Can we just go?" He asked sounding tired. Rain nodded her head hesitantly but still followed Tye out the cinema and into his car.

"Are you okay?" Rain cautiously aked. For some reason, Tye seemed to be sensitive when it came to disagreements. Rain didn't want to be the one to cause his emotions to flip suddenly. She just wanted today to be a good day.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Tye said turning on the radio. "You want to listen to anything, I have an aux cord?"

"You won't like my music." Rain said nervously. This was one of Rain's fears, being passed the aux cord. She didn't want her taste in music to be judged due to it not being what people her age typically listened to.

"I won't judge you," Passing her the phone Tye reached across Rain opening the glove compartment. "I'm just getting my sunglasses, it's unnecessarily sunny today." He explained.

Rain blushed, she could've passed them to him. Glancing in the glove compartment Rain saw an empty bottle of whiskey and looked at Tye full of questions.

"What?" He asked confused.

A disapproving look appeared on Rain's face. "You are too young to be drinking. Why is there an empty bottle of alcohol in your car?" She asked. Rain was at heart a good girl. She obeyed the law to the fullest and didn't tolerate any nonsense (besides Shaneils). After all her mother was a lawyer.

Tye laughed. "Oh, you're one of them."

Rain looked at Tye feeling insulted. "What do you mean?" She asked ready to defend herself.

Tye just smiled and grabbed his sunglasses closing the compartment and starting the car engine. "Pick a song." He said ignoring her question.

Rain frowned before picking a song and handing the phone back to Tye. Emotions oranges your best friend is a hater played lowly in the background as Rain stared out the window ignoring Tye,

"Let me tell you a story." Tye suddenly said making Rain turn her head to look at him. He turned to look at her waiting to see her answer and when she nodded her head he looked away again.

"When I was about 16 I went to my first house party. It was a college party and I knew some guys who went to the university there in my town. I snuck out of my cousin's house the night I was supposed to be sleeping over and I didn't have a car then so I walked the whole way there," Tye suddenly stopped speaking. "You are cool with me talking about drugs right?"

"I guess so." She hesitantly said. Tye shrugged his shoulder's continuing. "When I got there a friend of mine I call Jay, he was outside selling these pills he had taken from his grandmother to some of the students there. I was trying to stop him because I didn't want I get in trouble but Jay told me to stop being a punk so I left him alone. When I went inside the house I remember being nervous and my heart beating like crazy. I picked up this cup of alcohol and tried to fit in like the other kids."

"Who would've known that the by the time I was halfway done with my drink I would pass out. I woke up the next day on the couch next to a random girl laid on the ground and empty beer cans around me. When I got back to my cousin's house, my aunt gave me the worse beating of my life." Tye finished chuckling.

Rain laughed with him. She did not expect that story to end like that. "So if you have a low alcohol tolerance why is there a bottle in your car?" She asked curiously no longer full of judgment.

"It's my uncle's. I don't drink but I do like to collect bottles. I don know why but when I'm drawing I like to sketch them. It's a nice challenge." He explained calmly.
