Do you like him or not? (Part 2)

Later that Night

"Rain!" Her mom called waking her out of her sleep.

"Girl, come down here! I want to talk to you about something." She called again.

Groaning, Rain sluggishly got out of bed confused. It was nighttime and the forecast predicted rain accurately so seeing as it was heavily wetting the ground causing a cool breeze to spread outside and into Rain's open window. Slipping on her house slipper Rain headed downstairs while her mother kept calling urgently.

'This better be important.' Rain thought. At the bottom of the staircase, Rain saw Momma and her Mother both smiling creepily and got bad premonition. " What are you doing here?" She asked hesitantly.

"You should've told me," Momma said mysteriously. Confused Rain turned towards her mom looking for answers. "Oh, it's nothing. I just called Momma here to discuss your little "boy problem." This is so exciting!" Her mom exclaimed. Momma walked towards Rain guiding her towards the couch.

Looking at Momma's twinkling hazel eyes. Rain knew this was going to be a long night.

"Okay, now tell me all about him," Momma said. "Um, well his name is Tye. he just moved here with his uncle. He likes cars," Rain said smiling unconsciously. " He is a really good artist and I will admit that I see him by himself a lot. But, he is just a loner and I kinda like that a lot. "

Noticing the look on the Mother's face, Rain stopped smiling and cleared her throat. " I mean or at least I think I do."

"Yeah, Rain you are definitely a goner." Turning towards Rains mother, Momma let out a sound of grievance. "I did not expect it to happen so soon to her."

Rain's mom nodded in agreement looking tearful. "I thought we had more time."

"Poor Rain, I did not expect it to be you first. Out of all people." Momma pulled out a cigarette from her shirt pocket. "Let me tell you about men. They suck on the highest degree. Can't trust them one bit. Give a dog a bone and ugh."

"Momma I think you're being dramatic." Rain said nervously. "Oh trust me I'm not. I have been in the dating game for a long time and there is nothing I have not seen." Momma stated.

"Lisa, what do you think," Momma asked. Rain's mom smiled. " I think, he sounds nice. Maybe he's a good kid.

Tye takes Rain to the movie. Explains a miscommunication about alcohol. Confesses his attraction they kiss. Rain misses Darnells Game

It was 2:15 pm. The sky was sunny, the air was clear with no clouds in sight. In other words, it was hot. Rain was wearing a white skirt with a black baggy hoodie and vans. Despite the heat, Rain was still a hoodie and sweats lover at heart, not to mention that modesty was her thing. Yet, she still wanted to look nice for her date today and spent the previous night, contemplating over what outfit to wear.

When Tye came to pick her up, Rain was feeling a bit shy, unsure whether or not he would like what she wore. But to her surprise, he barely commented on her outfit and just claimed that it was nice. Although she was disappointed, it did take some pressure off her shoulders.

Rain was looking around nervously outside the the cinema while Tye was buying the movie tickets. She didn't know what they were going to be watching today but she hoped they wouldn't end up buying food from the cinema. It was too expensive and Rain wouldn't feel right letting Tye pay for everything. Not that she would tell Momma that who made it clear "men have to pay for everything on dates; if he asks you to pay for something act as though you left your wallet at home."

"You ready to see Venom I heard it was pretty good," Tye said coming up from behind Rain giving her a small scare.

"So have I, but people overhype movies all the time." Rain commented. Tye nodded his head in agreement. "Yeah, we'll have to see for ourselves after all Marvel movies have not been hitting the same lately."

Rain raised a brow. "Are you a DC fan?"

Tye shrugged his shoulders. "I might be. Is that a problem?" Rain began to have second thoughts. "I should've known by your personality. But I guess it's fine." Rain said unsure. Rain was a strong Marvel supporter having watched almost every movie they released. Tye being a Dc fan was raising red flags for Rain, but she decided to not be so judgmental and give him a chance still.

Maybe I can fix him." She thought. Tye led Rain inside the cinema telling her where the number of the theatre where they'll movie will be playing. As they walked around killing time since their movie wouldn't start till 3:00 pm Rain's stomach growled catching Tye's attention.

"Are you hungry?" He asked looking at the food area in deep thought. Rain blushed feeling a bit embarrassed of her stomach. There was no way she was going to allow him to waste his money on her. "Not really I'm fine." She said quickly but her stomach rumbled again making Tye let out a small laugh.

"Look if you're hungry just let me know. I asked you out. Obviously, I plan on feeding you." He said. Rain still nodded her head in a negative gesture causing Tye to sigh. Grabbing Rain by her arm gently he pulled her towards him. Rain felt her stomach flutter and looked at him shocked.

"I have a question for you. Do you think I'm being too forward with you? I just noticed that even though I asked you out and you agreed, you've been acting a little weird." Tye asked frowning. Rain felt a pang in her chest. She didn't want him to feel like anything was his fault especially when he did nothing wrong.

"No, it's not that. I just don't know how to act around you. I don't really get asked out as much as you think I do and when it does happen it's not like I ever agree. But, if this is about me not communicating more clearly, then I'm sorry for the confusion." Rain confessed.

"It's cool I guess. I'm just trying to make sure you're not uncomfortable with my advances. If you feel like I'm doing too much, I don't want you to be just standing there taking it. Speak up for yourself like you did when I first met you." Tye said making Rain smile. It was true that Rain had shimmered down after meeting Tye. Although she didn't know him that long, she was kind of afraid of scaring him away with her bossiness and blunt speech.

"I'll keep that in mind," She promised. "But I'm really not hungry. Besides the food here costs so much. Can't we just find somewhere to go eat afterward?" Rain's heart would hurt hearing the prices if Tye bought the food here. She would have a hard time sleeping at night thinking about the hole in Tye's wallet he would be burning.

Scratching his head, Tye decided to head to the food court and buy some popcorn for the movie anyway. Rain was too stubborn for him sometimes. Standing in line to place his order Tye watched as Rain pouted at him making him smile. "She's so childish." He thought moving up in the line placing his order.
