"Special Intelligence Classis a high-class training group among best students, they often compete or united in one mission. It is for students to hone the abilities given to each one of them. Examinations, experimentations, and testing are done every month, of course only SI class knew the exact schedule as it is a mystery to everyone outside the group." Kiera, the school journalist said.
Just like she said, no one knew the exact schedule except to those students who's part of it but weird, the three members of that group said that I am part of them but who knows if they're telling the truth? I've been in Avarial for 2 months and there is nothing like examinations nor testing done to me.
"You said the schedule is highly confidential so is the information, why do you know this then?" Feeling a bit dizzy, I lean against the wall behind me and asked Kiera. There's nothing in my friends' eyes but determination and nervousness, Cleo and Justin raise their hands, biting their lower lips in unison.
"We're providing her information, she's a great journalist and she's our friend, there's no need to keep it to everyone, right?" Sui looked at the two older members then shake her head. She looks depressed and lonely now that the secret of their groups is coming out of their lips.
"I'm saying this because I can't endure the pain and they're not even opening to us," Cleo said. She shrugged her shoulder then walk toward the wall full of our pictures. She carefully touches Aiken's picture then presses it slowly, causing the wall to move again, revealing a room full of pictures of all of us.
There's no doubt. These pictures are taken without our permission. I know all 16 of us it's too big for a circle of friends, but there's nothing weird being friends with each other. The fact that there's a familiar feeling together, it's weird and all but that's how we enjoy our youth. We rely on the feeling of closure we have.
"These pictures. It's all taken from afar." Bubble opens her mouth wide, pointing at the similarities of the pictures hung on the wall. Even the owner of this mansion is shocked, that must be because it's so unlike the Professor.
"He's stalking us, but you know he's popular so I never thought I would have a good-looking stalker." Kelsey smiles sticking her tongue out.
The pictures taken by our professor are kind of blurred, no one knows why even his sister doesn't have any idea. The only clue we got in his room was a single piece of paper with someone's name written on it. The name was familiar, not just to me but to everyone. Melissa who knew nothing glance at me.
She handed me a picture of a guy, I looked at it then nodded. After collecting everything and writing down what's our next move, we talked inside the van and went to Cleo's penthouse. It's been 3 years since they started using this room as their personal space and now I am here with everyone.
Cleo is wealthy and famous so is everyone else. That's why they bought this penthouse without their parents' consent. Last week, I moved some of my belongings here just like what everyone wants. Everyone knew the situation wherein and has been helping us since then. That's why I can't tell them things freely.
I'm already indebted to them this whole time and they didn't even want to continue this ever since their friend Levi died. That's why I don't think it's a good idea to add more problems when we're in the middle of hiding from everyone. We cut our connections to our family saying we're going on a vacation.
"Leticia Keith, she's a famous actress." Alex is scrolling on his phone when he suddenly said this. He showed his phone to us and put his fingers on his chin.
"She's abducted." He added. Leticia, she's a 20 something actress and has been missing for 2 years now. Her case was kind of popular back then but surprisingly, no lawyer wants to handle the case. That's why the government declared her death after that. It's horrible I know and the fact that no lawyer wants to handle Leticia's case is a head-turner.
"Her picture is on the table near the wall. There must be some connections to that." I flip the picture then wave it. Starting to feel a little bit sleepy, some of them lay on the floor.
While checking through the papers, I steal a glance at Diana who's been staring at me ever since we left the mansion. I smile at her and she also smiles at me just like her usual self. She also checks the internet and calls Bubble to sit next to her.
"I want to ask everyone if that's okay." They all looked at me then nodded their heads. Curious, all of them sit next to me, Luke wakes Cody up before going. All of them looked at me seriously, waiting for my question. To be honest, I don't want to invade their privacy and feel bad about it but I don't have a choice but ask everything that may connect to Avarial.
"How Avarial scouted you guys?" They looked at each other, eyes twitching. There must be something wrong with what I said, right? I don't want them to feel burdened because of it.
"Oh, is that something you can't tell me? It's fine even I think that my question wasn't necessary." I awkwardly laugh because of the ominous ambiance I'm feeling. Their face makes me more curious.
"No, Avarial scouted me when I'm drinking with my friends, someone put a card on my drink." Kelsey's face is as red as a tomato while the other is staring at her.
"Can we call it scouting? I think it's more like tempting." Sui grabbed the bottled water and drink it. The more she got drunk the darker her information is. Sui told us that she doesn't exactly like the idea of going to Avarial but they offered her something she couldn't refuse so she studied there and excelled in everything she could.
After a year, she told the director that she's going to quit because she's tired of everything but the directors threatened her and even offered her more money. Sui who's laying on money. The reason why the school cannot let Sui go is that she's one of the best students and even though she had a rude personality, she's under control.
"I was forced." We all looked at Cody, he's sleeping a while ago but it seems like we woke him up. He slowly opens his eyes, his cute and small eyes. Cody is one of those people who often get demerits because he never attended any of his classes. The reason is simple, he just doesn't like the idea of studying.
"What do you mean? You said contacted them yourself!" Startled by Alex's loud voice, he rose from the sofa and annoyingly runs his fingers through his disheveled hair.
Scattered papers, unknown addresses, burred pictures. The floor gets messy when a sudden kick from Cody landed on the sofa behind Alex. His eyes darken. Maybe there's something wrong with him? or is he embarrassed because of what Alex just told us? My confusion grew stronger when Cody suddenly throw his phone at me.
Confused, I slowly looked at his phone. There are so many emails and text messages that are not read yet, but some of them are already opened. My eyes widened when I saw a bunch of text messages from an unknown number, there's even a photo of him there. It's creepy and frightening.
"That. They hired a killer to kill me, that's why I accept their offer. Man! I want to live."
