Chapter 3

"Why are we hiding?" Chief Garrison whispered to me. "I'm the Chief of Police. I can easily take them down".

"Did you forget about the blood floating in the air or how the guy that nearly killed me is a giant?" I whispered back.

He sighed but said nothing else. We were hiding in the train, behind one of the seats which gave us a direct view of the entrance if we raise our heads up slightly. We were both dressed in all black so as to blend in and not get caught by the police officers guarding the train. Richeville's police is kinda the shittiest there is so it wasn't hard sneaking inside.

It's almost midnight and there has been no sign of them but something told me that they'll come. That blue girl said so herself and what better time to sneak into a train that at midnight, when they were sure many people would be asleep. To be honest, I'm shit scared because I have no idea what they're going do to us if they find out we're here. Chief Garrison's presence is slightly reassuring but he was no match for that big guy.

That scene still played over and over again in my head. His sparkling green eyes, tousled pitch black hair, his sheer strength, that deep alluring voice.

"Who are you?"

Why would he ask me that? I was sure he was going to kill me when his eyes turned dark but then, they changed back to their original colour and it was almost hypnotizing.

Wait. Why am I thinking like this? Shit. I mean, he's a dangerous guy. A mysterious killer that I want to know more about. It's like an itch that won't go away. Like, I'm just so interested and I don't know why.

It must be how his eyes changed colour. Yes. That must be why I'm so intrigued. Nothing else. I admit he's attractive but I don't like him that way and from the looks of it, neither will he.

Shit! I'm thinking of relationships already? What the fuck is wrong with you Alexandra Hayes! Ugh.

"Can you hear something?" Chief asked, suddenly at full alert.

I listened carefully and that's when I heard the whispers coupled with light footsteps. I couldn't make out what they were saying though.

I and the Chief made eye contact then slowly raised our heads up to see what was making the sounds. My eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets when I saw the same three people walking into the compartment we were hiding in, except this time, the big guy was carrying a sword that was almost as long as he was. They were all dressed the same way I saw them earlier. Just that Ulrick's boots weren't muddy anymore.

Holy shit.

I felt someone yank me back down by the sleeve of my jacket.

"You didn't tell me he had a giant ass sword!" Chief Garrison whisper yelled. His dark eyes were wide open due to fear and that's when I began to tremble. If the Chief was scared, then I'm toast. That guy would cut me into pieces.

"I didn't know he had a sword!" I whisper yelled back. "And language Chief. According to you, I'm still a kid"

Chief Garrison sighed and ran his fingers through his really short hair. He looked frustrated and it's really not helping. I'm feeling even more scared than I was before.

"Did you hear something Orion?" a soft voice said.

We tensed.

I whispered. So how could she hear me?

"I didn't hear anything" a deep voice growled. His voice sounded like gravel being rubbed together and I'd be lying if I said it didn't make my heart beat quicken and goosebumps scale my upper arms.

"But I smell lemon".

I could hear his heavy footsteps growing closer. Curse my lemon scented body wash and shampoo!

The footsteps stopped just before the seat we were hiding behind. I could feel sweat trickling down my back and wetting my shirt.

Oh God oh God oh God.

My hair was sticking to my face and I was trying hard to keep my breath even. Chief Garrison was as still as a statue. If he weren't crouched beside me, I'd say he wasn't even there.

I yelped when I suddenly felt a hand grab the collar of my shirt and yank me up in the air. I was dropped down just as fast and I groaned in pain when my body came in contact with the cold hard train floor. Not wanting to seem weak, I quickly picked myself up and glared at the man before me. His smoldering green eyes were already trained on me and it felt like I couldn't breathe. Whatever this man is, he's very handsome and having him look at me made me feel a bit shy and self-conscious.

I wondered what I looked like, standing in front of him. Maybe a noodle or a stick with lots of hair on it. One thing was off though. I could feel it but I didn't know what exactly it was. You know that uncomfortable wary feeling you get when you're in some kind of situation you can't control? Well that's what I was feeling at the moment.

"We shouldn't waste time Orion. Get her and let's go" the blue girl said, suddenly appearing beside him.

Before I could move an inch, he grabbed me by my arm and hauled my body over his shoulder. What the hell is going on?

"Let me go you asshole!" I yelled as I kicked and twisted about, trying to set myself free. "Chief Garrison! Help me!".

Where the hell is that cigarette abuser when I'm being abducted?

"Stop!" We suddenly heard.

Orion and the blue girl came to a halt. They both turned and I had to twist in a really uncomfortable way to see what was going on. Chief Garrison had his meaty arm wrapped around a wide eyed Ulrick's neck and a gun pressed to the side of his head.

"Let Alexa go and you'll get your friend back" he said, cocking the gun. I felt really happy. For a moment there, I thought he had gone. In all black, he looked like some super cool spy.

Orion chuckled and I have to say that it was the scariest sound I have ever heard. It sounded sinister and cold. The vibrations created by the sound made goosebumps scale my arms all the way to the back of my neck and this was the goosebumps of fear.

"You can have him" were the words that came out of his lips and with that, they turned to leave.

With me. Oh hell no.

I continued to kick and struggle but this man was incredibly strong. Was he on steroids or something. I can't believe he left his partner there for Chief to do whatever he pleased.

"Do something Chief!" I yelled, seeing as nothing I did was working. "Please do something! Don't let them take me. I'm just 23!"

Hot tears stung my eyes, threatening to fall. Were they going to kill me? Rape me? Sell me? So many thoughts rushed through my head it was even making me dizzy. Why me? What did I do?

"Let her go" a strangely familiar voice said, making me turn my neck so fast it cracked. A little. Before us stood another Orion. Dressed exactly the same way as the one carrying me. The same sword rested in his palm, his dark hair covering the left side of his face and this right eye shining like a small green gem.

What the fuck is going on?
