After Adrian finished with his alter to Khorne he was glad Chaos had not invaded the world and no World Eaters were screaming for skulls. Sure he might be able to kill several of them on his own, but against an entire legion, he would be screwed.
At the moment they were in one of the feast halls watching as the Fume Knights finally ate real food. He had so much hydra meat to use he did not mind using that for them. Plus it was delicious to eat and worth the effort.
The stews were cooked in with more magic mushrooms so not only were they delicious they healed them as well. Next to him were Seraphine and Solaire who were finally taking a break and enjoying a well-earned feast.
'System, can you connect the Fume Knights, Solaire, and Seraphine to the system.'
'Good, I will ask them later.'
Seraphine looked up to Adrian and saw he was a little relaxed now. Adrian knew full well all the memories he was getting were not really his. They were fake, but he honestly could not give a shit.
So what if they were fake, he would just make them real.
"You seem more relaxed now Adrian?"
He nodded at her statement as he cut into a juicy steak of hydra.
"Well even though this is just a fragment of the Fume Knights and the rest died in the battle, some did live. That is enough as long as we rebuild."
August ate a curry-like meal with gusto. He broke a bone open to eat some of the cooked marrow.
"He is right you know little lady. Though most of our brothers fell in the battle, a knight order can rebuild long as it has a captain. Plus, let's be honest I was the brains and the captain was just the motivator. He is not that smart."
Harold and the rest of the knights broke out laughing at the dig at Adrian's intellect. Still, Seraphine was a little annoyed as she was in no way short. For a human or undead, she was tall at 6'2, but compared to them she was short.
As for Solaire, he was 6'6, but even he could not compare to a Fume Knight. Adrian stood up as he bit into some hydra skewers. He also planned to get a new tunic made from the hydra skin he got and he had the perfect person to make it.
It was not only durable, but it took quite a bit of effort to go through it.
"Alright, you sad sacks of flesh Soon we going to get you all back in fighting shape. Pick up your weapons and let's take out some of your grudge on the fools stuck in a time loop."
Every single Fume Knight had one thing in common besides their physical might. They all hated the forces of Anor Londo and they would use them to their benefit.
There were plenty of Giants and Silve Knights around to hunt stuck in a time loop. Solaire and Seraphine sighed as they knew they would be dragged along. Just like they thought it was a massacre after massacre of the forces of Anor Londo.
Which each passing kill the Fume Knights recovered most of their muscle mass, their bodies started to pack on the muscle from before. Plus, most of them were blood thirty lovers of the battlefield and they enjoyed every second of it.
They ended up spending the next entire week doing nothing but fighting and it was glorious to watch. They fought like a ravenous pack of wolves as each one was an absolute unit in full gear.
They needed food, souls, and training to get them back to their full glory. They were relentless as they had run the giant and Silver Knights' massacres for their souls over 50 times that week without stopping.
They barely rested and it even impressed Solaire and Seraphine with how much gusto they took to this. It meant more souls for everyone so no one rested much besides a little while in between.
Altogether it had netted Adrian 25 million souls which were welcomed for him to level up. At the moment all of the Fume Knights were talking to Cough which was the name of the giant.
"Hey Cough, I want to ask you to make us all some underclothes for the armor from this Hydra hyde I got. Can you do it?"
Adrian placed the hydra's hyde down and the giant examined it. He saw that it was mostly harvested right, but it still needed some work.
"Yes."
It was so much with how big the hydra was and it would be a good second layer defense under the titanite-infused armor so he was going to do it. As they were here Adrian called all of his knights along with Seraphine and Solaire to a meeting hall.
They were confused about what he wanted so he decided to be somewhat truthful.
"Alright, you all know the method of the Undead to grow on souls is different from us normally right?"
They all nodded as it was true. While they could take the power of souls it was a slightly inferior method as the undead could channel the souls to the ability they needed.
"Well, I can give you the same method as an Undead. It was the same way I got that ability so it is up to you guys."
The Fume Knights did not hesitate as it would let them grow stronger better.
'System, do your work.'
All the Fume Knights all felt a connection to the Bonfires which meant even if they died now they would come back. Still, they were not undead either so they did not have to worry about going hollow.
Now that the main issue was taken care it was time to speed up his exploration of this world. He had 11 Fume Knights so he split them into three teams of three.
One team went to Sen's fortress, another to the Valley of Drakes, and the other to the depths. He told them about one of the Undead Dragons and they wanted to see if they could not tame it.
Even an Undead Dragon was still a dragon even if it would need a lot of help. It was a pity to have such a creature like that just rot way so they would try to heal it as best they could.
The last team was going after the Gaping Dragon, but Adrian was not confident about that one. The Fume Knights wanted to get more dragons as most of the dragons of the order were killed.
Those teams flew on Scorn and Devastator as transport to those locations. They did not want to just sit around as they wanted to finally start going out again.
Adrian ended up storing the painting in his inventory so he could enter it when he got the doll. August, Adrian, Seraphine, Solaire, and Sif flew on Amara to the Undead Asylum to get the doll.
When the giant dragon landed on she could not land as she was far too large. Instead, she hung off the side of the asylum with her head on the ground waiting for the passengers to get off.
They all jumped off so she flew off to explore until she was called back. Now that they were here, they went toward the Stray Demon and for the doll to enter the painted world.
August was back in the armor of a Fume Knight and on his back was the Swordspear that was placed on top of the Tomb of Gwyn. He was all too glad to take it back and even though it was not the same one he used, this one was used by the First Born.
That made it even better in his eyes, but now as he looked around at the asylum he was confused.
"Captain, why are we here?"
Adrian saw the hollows walking around without purpose so he explained his purpose here.
"Well, what do you remember about a half-breed dragon girl? I can't remember her name, but that I do remember her."
August realized who he meant instantly.
"Oh, you mean Priscilla."
Adrian looked at him and nodded.
"I think so."
August thought about it and remembered her fondly.
"Well, you know how Anor Londo never got over their hate of dragons even with us trying to show them. Well her life was miserable and so the only people who ever showed her any care were us. She would visit us all the time, but she loved you the most."
August smiled as he remembered the small girl who only reached up to Adrian's Shins. She always called him uncle and she even promised to marry him.
He members that day fondly at how cutely she said it. He shook his head at the innocence of a child, but he didn't know what happened to her. For now, it was time to get to work.
He reached behind him and grabbed the Swordspear off his back that began to crackle with lightning. All it took was a single swing and all the hollows blocking the path in were dealt with. Adrian looked at Solaire and Seraphine who had seen what a true weapon from the Age of Ancients could do.
"We got a demon to kill."
They entered the same room where Adrian had killed the first demon. August looked at the ground that was cracked and he could hear it breathing.
"I got this."
August jumped on the damaged floor so he fell right through to the demon. The moment he landed he rolled to the right to dodge an ax swing as he looked up at the giant demon in front of him.
'Easy prey.'
He rushed forward with a speed that was unbecoming of how large and heavy his gear was, but it barely bothered him. He kicked off the ground and slashed through the thick hide of the demon's right side.
The wound was huge as parts of the demon's intestine were now hanging limply. It roared in anguish as it slammed down its ax to attack with magic. Before that happed it received a lightning spear from Solaire to the face who was not going to be a sideline.
Seraphine got right into the thick of it as she wore a full suit of Black Knight armor that the giant made for her. She single-handed swung her giant blade right through the leg of the demon.
Without a leg and its organs spilling out it was easy to see that they were far more powerful than ever. As for Adrian and Sif, they watched from the back to see how much progress they had made.
Already it was on its knees and he saw Seraphine's sword stabbed right into its gut. August jumped from the back of it and stabbed the Swordspear through the demon's head like a knife through butter.
When the demon collapsed dead it was time to get the Slab. He had to say he was proud of their progress as if they were to survive Dark Souls 2 which would scale up even more than now.
It was possible that the enemies might even be raid boss level so it was better to be ready for it. Adrian walked to the body and cut it wide open and pulled out the titanate Slab. When August saw it his eyes opened wide as those were rare beyond measure.
Even Adrian's sword was not imbued with any of them as they were reserved for the gods. He could feel the overwhelming power contained inside, but it would have to wait.
"Well let's explore shall we."
They all walked through the underground area of the Asylum until they found the small doll. When Adrian took it in his hands he got an old memory again. He was kneeling in front of Priscilla when she was only a little girl.
She was really small as she only reached up to his knees and she was crying into his chest. He ran his hand down her white hair.
"Uncle, *Snif* why does everyone hate me?"
Adrian smiled as he pointed at himself.
"I don't hate you. I bet no one of my knights could ever hate you."
She wiped her tears and looked at his face.
"Uncle, am I an abomination?"
Adrian frowned and picked her up in his arms.
"Who told you that?"
She looked down and answered.
"Grandpa."
Adrian knew she meant Gwyn. He put her down and reached into his back pocket where he had a small doll.
"I may not be the best doll maker, but I made this for you."
When she took the doll in her hands she smiled as she looked at Adrian.
"Thank you, uncle. I love you."
The memory ended right after and Adrian held the doll tight.
"I remember her now August."
August patted him on the shoulder.
"I am sorry, captain."
"Don't be, I also remember where she is."
He brought out the painting and placed it on the wall. He looked at his small group as he held the doll in his hands.
"Watch and learn."
Adrian touched the painting while he held the doll in his hands. His hand fell right in the painting and he started to get dragged in. It was kind of shocking, but he was already inside by the time anyone could react.
August touched the painting to recuse Adrian, but he also got dragged in. When they looked up they saw they were now in that painting. He looked up at the top of the tower and looked at the doll.
"She is here isn't she?"
Adrian nodded.
"Yup, let's get my niece back."
As they were talking Solaire, Seraphine and Sif also were spit out. They realized this was a real painted world and now it was time to explore it.
