Chapter 26

Chris also returned and sat down on the bed next to her with a cup of lemonade in his hand

"Have this" he said and Laura obediently stood up, take it then drank a little.

"When did you meet with Avan? Since you left or yesterday?" He questioned as he took the cup from her

"Yesterday" she answered without resisting.

Laura isn't really listening to Chris words because the fact that she is in his room and sleeping on his bed makes her feel a little excited. She already forgot the fact that she promised herself to keep away from him

"Why didn't you come to the office today?" He asked another question and just as Laura wanted to explain, he placed his hand on her forehead which makes her stops. Laura feels like butterflies is dancing in her tummy and swallow hard on her words

"What are you doing?" She queried and move his hand away

"Checking your temperature" he answered and move to touch her neck, he move his hand round her neck and place the other hand on his to compare their body temperature then he touched her cheek to check looking on seriously but Laura is feeling uncomfortable with his touch.

It feels like when a smooth body lotion is rubbed on her body and she bits her lips nervously

"You should stop am fine" she said and push his hand away before she loose control over her body.

How can he thoughtlessly touch her like that after kissing her, Laura remove the cloth covering her body wanting to leave but Chris push her back gently to the bed

"You should stay here for tonight"

"What the…" Laura let out shocked,

What does he mean by telling her to stay in his bed tonight? Before Laura could gather her thought, Chris lean in more closer to her and place his hands on her both sides preventing her from standing and she could only move backwards

Laura shift back a little bit but Chris move closer again, she could read the meaning of the look in his eyes, he looks like an hungry lion that just spot his prey and is about to bounce on her.

She continued to move backwards slowly till she could no longer move and became trapped by him, Chris lean in closer to her and Laura flicked him a nervous glare and stopped him

"Wait, we can't get romantically involved with each other" she said to remind him about what their relationship is but he just smiled and used one of his hands to pull her down from her sitting position and make her lay under him properly then he moved his hand from her body up to her face and kissed her again despite her resistance.

Once Laura felt his lips on hers, she couldn't resist anymore and just closed her eyes subconsciously feeling really nervous and good at the same time.

Chris noticed she is no longer trying to resist him and made a bold move to place his hands under her clothes, Laura's heart flip in excitement and the sensation from his touch runs a shiver down her spine.

She slowly move her hand away from the bed and slowly place them on his shoulder.

He continue to kiss her more deeply and explore her body with his hands but not moving his hand down to the lower part of her body, he stopped and went down to her neck as he munch on it hungrily which made Laura let out a moan that seems to stimulate him to want more.

The both of them were lost in each other's arms when they suddenly hear someone calling Chris name and the voice seems to be near.

Laura's eyes flicked opened and she pushed Chris away from her in a panic, she had forgotten for a second that Mira also lives here

Chris was startled but then they heard her voice again and it seems like she is at the door, Chris stood up annoyed and displeased as he left the room leaving Laura who start to arrange her clothes properly.

"Chris!" She could hear Mira's excited voice outside as she sees him

"Why are you here?" He questioned irritated

"Are you sleeping already? It's still early" Mira said instead and tried to look int his room but Chris blocked her away from the door

"That's not my question" he replied sternly

"Mum asked me to bring you some dishes since you will be by yourself" she answered not happy with his reaction

"I dropped them in the kitchen already so.. how about we eat something together first" she said trying to look for a way to stay overnight with him.

"Not a chance, you can leave" he told her and turned her away from the door

"I don't want to repeat myself" he added knowing how stubborn she can be

"Okay fine, I will leave" she was disappointed but still happy that he is alone and not together in the house with Laura

"I will come check on you tomorrow" she said finally leave descending down the stairs and Chris waited to hear the sound of the front door closing before going back inside.

Laura is now sitting on the bed and when she saw him come in, she stood up to her feet immediately and faked a smile at him then pick up her bags to leave

"Goodnight" she murmured to him and was about to walk pass him.

"You are sleeping here tonight" Chris said with a commanding tone and he held her back, he took the bags in her hand and place them back on the floor then he bought her back to the bed and forced her to lay down again

"Chris stop" Laura protested but he lay down beside her and cuddles her

"Am not going to touch you again" he told her thinking that's what she meant and closes his eyes.

"Am hungry" Laura said looking for a way to break free

"Let's sleep for two hours then we'll get something to eat together" he replied and loosen his hand on her then pull her in to himself further.

Laura struggled to get up but his strength couldn't be compared to hers so she end up giving up after few minutes.

"Chris, are you sleeping?" She asked when she didn't notice any movement from him after another five minutes. Not getting an answer from him, Laura decide to close her eyes and get a little sleep

"Can I asked you a question?" He suddenly asked startling her

"What?" She asked in reply

"Do you really sleep on the same bed with him last night?"

"We didn't sleep together, why would you think that?" She said and heard a long sigh from him then he went silent and fall asleep.

Its took only a few minutes for Laura to fall asleep and after another few minutes, Chris opened his eyes and turned a little then he took the duvet and pull it over her body properly.

He turned his face away from her and start to ponder on how to tell her about Avan and Clara, he can be sure with those words he heard earlier that they are cheating Laura but with the situation about the business contract which they heard lied about for so long he doesn't want to trust Laura's judgement about them.

The contract was so obvious that even a newbie should know that something is wrong with the contract so he wonder why Laura didn't notice for such a long time or she is just too naive

He turned back to face her and place her head on his shoulders before closing his eyes to also sleep.
