Chapter Five

I woke up when the a light hit up my face. I’m too lazy to get up, but I still need to work.

“Breakfast in bed?” My eyes widened when I saw Kent in front of the door, wearing an apron and is carrying a tray of food.

“Should I?” I smirked, my eyes followed him while walking towards my side to put the food tray in front of me.

“You should.” He kissed the top of my head, making me move away a little.

“Hey, I haven’t taken a bath yet.” I sit properly in order to level my body to the table tray of food.

I get the fork and pick the smallest part of the bacon to taste it.

“You’re still sweet.” I almost throw up. Not in a bad way but I was surprised by what he said.

“Stop it, I’m eating.” He sat next to me.

“Do you want me to feed you?”

“I’m not your pet, baby. But you should eat too.”

We finished eating breakfast. I took a shower and get dressed.

I went downstairs and found out that Kent was already dressed too. Is he going somewhere?

“Where you goin’?” I get my car keys and walk beside him

“Driving you” He shrugged and get the keys in my hand. I wasn’t expecting him to drive me to work. That made my heart beat this much. I really love this guy!

“So, how’s the files from the new project?” I asked Tiffany when she gave me some papers to be signed.

“So far so good. The perfumes are in test now. It should be done for a week then we can put it in the market.” I smiled.

Knowing how she manage things on her own now. Tiffany was a shy type the moment we met at junior high school, and luckily we had things in common that made everything at it is now. We also got to know Cole half year after our friendship started and now we are more than a decade.

“Oh by the way, Cole sent me a DM telling me that we should come over to a party at hers later.” That made me curious.

“What’s the occasion?” She just smirked and shrugged.

“Gotta go, I’ll leave some files here about the project. You can just read through it and that’s all for the day.” She went out after that, not even answering my question. That girl!

What I did was just check through the project and as always, signed some. I though it would just be an hour but, seriously I got finished for almost four hours!

It’s five o’clock and I should wait thirty minutes to go home. Working hours is at seven-thirty up until five-thirty, depends on the employee if they wanted to work overtime for extra pay. I love the employees here, they were trained and polite. They know how to respect, well, except for the you know; witch.

Since I’m here for almost five months, all I did was to monitor them. The sales are better and the products have the best scent! Workers are so accommodating. I even visited a branch month ago, they doesn't know that I was currently holding up the TDC but they are all friendly so I gave them a vacation trip like a team building one for two days.

We have at least thirty branch of TDC world wide, each have its own manager where I can talk to for the business. Somehow, I'm kind of doing things right, even though the second family of my father keeps on interrupting me.

My phone started ringing and I noticed that it wasn't a familiar number. I didn't pick it up. I'm that kind of person that doesn't answer calls from unregistered number. If it's important they'll call again or message me. It a bit, it stopped and didn't call again so I just leave it their.

I get my bag and prepared my things for me to go home. Ah no, I'm going to Cole! I forgot.

When I was going out in my office, I felt weird. "Lea, did you perhaps saw Tiffany?" I asked one of my employee when she passes by.

"I think I saw her going to the elevator earlier Miss." I just nodded and thank her.

Where the hell is she? She didn't even bother to tell me about Cole's. I get my phone inside the pocket of my coat and called her. It's just ringing and she didn't answer at all. So I decided to go to the parking area. When I entered the elevator, my mood suddenly changed. I didn't expect to see her here. She should be at a different elevator.

"Hey sissy." I look at her and I saw her smirked. What does she want this time?

"Going to the parking?" she asked even though she already pressed the button for the parking. Really? My bloods rising!

I stayed quiet, I don't want to speak to her, I don't even want to see her. And seriously, I really don't want to be at a same room with her. Just like now, at the same elevator? It sucks.

When the elevator stopped, I immediately get out, but when I was not that far away someone suddenly grabbed my arm and I faced her.

"Aren't you going to say goodbye to your elder sister?" I rolled my eyes.

"Goodbye Miranda. I hope to not see you forever. Oh, I meant for awhile." I faked a smile and turned my back to her. I get inside my car and drove until I reached a gift shop. I wanted to buy a gift for Cole first. I don't know the occasion but at least I'm not empty handed later.

"Good evening Miss, what can I help you?" I smiled at her, I can see that she's a nice employee. I don't know but everything I felt with the employees are always right, maybe I've been too attached with them ever since I started business.

"I'm looking for something vintage for a bar." After telling that to her, she assisted me to a collection of vintage stuffs. I picked something fancy, like a hanging frame with leaves on it and a basket of flowers, it was empty but I'll try to go to a flower shop after this.

I payed and find the flower shop for the basket. It was a mixed of tulips, rose and baby's breath. she likes those flowers. After buying the gift, I decided to buy a coffee before heading to Cole's. I'm too tired for today, I think I needed coffee first.

"One americano please."

I went to grab some seat but before I could get one, I bumped into someone.

"I'm sorry" We both said in chorus. I looked up to see whose familiar voice it was.

"Clyde?"

"Jen?"

Wait, why is he here? I though he left the country years ago. He gave me a sweet smile, and I don't know how to react.

"Let's seat first?" I just nodded and follow him. I still need to wait for the waiter to give me my drink so, here I am.

"How are you?" He asked to start the conversation and to break the awkwardness I'm currently feeling right now.
