Echo's POV
~After dropping winter off~
After dropping Winter off at her house I drove off down the road.... and stopped far enough away that she wouldn't be able to see my car.
That was a while ago, say twenty minutes ago. Now I sit in a tree watching through her window waiting for her to come out of the bathroom.
I want to watch her and make sure she's safe... as well as see her reaction to opening the picture.
The door to the bathroom opens and out walks Winter wrapped in a towel. She goes to her bed and drops her towel, not expecting her to do that I try to do something.
I don't know what I tried to do but it didn't matter much because I ended up falling out of the tree anyways.
Shifting into my wolf I crawl into the bushes behind me and wait for her to shut the window and blinds.
Missing my opportunity to see her open the picture I run back to the car, shifting, and pulling on shorts before getting into the drivers. As I was turning the car on my phone went off.
Pulling it out of my pocket I answered it without even looking.
"What's up?"
"Son are you at Winter's?"
"Yeah... I'm just leaving now."
"Good. I want you home soon. I have things to discuss with you."
Looking at the phone confused as I hear the dial tone I put it away and put my car in drive. Speeding off down the road I can't help but to think about what he would need to talk to me about.
Arriving in front of the pack house twenty minutes later I cut the engine and step outta the car.
Walking up the drive swinging the keys in my hands the door opens and at first I thought it was my sister or someone along those lines but when a barely dressed Iris runs up to me.
(I realize that I never said her name but Iris would be the packs slut. For some reason its like a requirement when making a pack.)
Item number one must have alpha. Item number two must have members, and item number three must have at least one pack slut.
...Anyways. So she runs up to me. Barely there clothing barely clinging to her and again latches onto me.
Does it have to be me? And at this time where I have important things to do and a newly found mate to win over?
Thinking "why me?" I was about to attempt to pry her off again when her body was flung threw the air like a ragdoll and my sister stood in front of me like the warrior hero I thought her to be when we were younger.
"Hurry up Echo. We don't have all day, we have to start planning immediately."
Dragging me behind her she power walks up the stairs, into the house and into my father's office where everyone else was.
"Son, what took you so long?"
"Iris. Haven't you gotten rid of her yet? I'm telling you dad one of these days she's gonna mess with the wrong bitches mate and I want to have front row seats when that happens."
"Ezra!"
"What? You would too Ma."
"Enough! We have matters to attend to."
Father turns to me.
"Now that you've found your mate we can now start the process of making you the alpha. The only problem is you're gonna have to tell her and get her acceptance since she is human."
Nodding my head I wait for him to continue his thought while I tried to come up with a way that wouldn't make her run screaming from me.
"On the plus side you told us that you've met Roger, an old pack member that left for some reason ten years ago. Thinking back on it she must have been the reason all those years ago so now we have a helping hand in the matter. Have you spoken to him about it son?"
"When I first saw him I was able to tell him she was my mate. He seemed extremely happy about it but I wasn't able to talk to him about it in detail."
"Well do that. From events tonight I don't think you have anything to worry about with her not accepting you, but just in case talk to him before you tell her. Got it?"
Nodding my head the issue of this is temporarily solved but it still doesn't make me feel any better.
"Alright, now that that's settled I would like to talk to Axel in private. So if you please."
He points to the door and we all head toward it. I hold it open for Ma and Ezra while they give the remaining men kisses before walking out ahead of me.
Right as I was about to leave and close the door behind me I hear my fathers voice calling my name, stopping me in my tracks.
"Son, we can't wait too long. Go ask Roger right now, don't take the car just go."
".... I was actually heading there anyways. For a completely different reason though."
He grins and waves me away and I walk out, closing the door behind me.
Jogging down the steps Ezra meets me at the landing and stands looking up at me.
"I like her. I think the Moon Goddess did an amazing job picking her out for you. When the time comes she'll make a wonderful Luna and addition to the family."
Pulling her into a hug I can't help but to remember what an amazing sister I have.
Running out the door I run into the woods, shifting and hitting the trail that leads directly to Winter's house. Running full speed I make it there before I would have in a car.
Walking up the steps I scratch at the door and wait for it to open.
The door opens with a creak and then Roger's head peeks out of the crack.
"Ah, Echo. What a nice surprise, come in come in."
He opens the door wider for me to walk through and then shuts it behind me.
"I'm sorry but Winter is already asleep."
Shifting back I look around to make sure we're alone.
"I'm not here entirely for her. Well I am and I'm not. I wanted to talk to you about her."
"My boy, you are just as carefree as you were when you were younger. Wait here a moment."
He walks out of the room and returns a moment later with a pair of shorts in his hand. Tossing them to me he waits for me to put them on.
"Now that you have some clothes on what would you like to discuss with me?"
"What do you think is the best way to tell Winter about all this? I don't want to scare her or have her reject me."
"Honestly, I haven't told her what I am either."
"... What?!"
"Sh! Sh! What's the matter with you? Don't be so damn loud!"
"You haven't told her and you've taken care of her for this long?!"
"Well I never really figured she would need it. I never figured she would be mated to one so there wouldn't really be a point in telling her and her parents died when I thought bout telling her. Do you really think that ten years ago she would have been emotionally stable enough to hear this news? No, I don't and then it never really mattered after that."
"... Okay okay... I get it. So what am I to do?"
"You could just tell her. She's not going to be afraid if you explain and plus she's always liked dogs.
"I'm. Not. A. Dog."
"Yes yes. Technicalities. The point is she won't run screaming from you, maybe to you."
"Do you really think so?"
Walking me up the stairs and to a room with his hand on my shoulder he opens the door to a room that only has a bed in it and leans against the frame.
"Its late. The only way you'll know is if you try. Be honest with her, she hates liars."
Turning from me he walks out as I sit on the bed with my head in my hands.
Well.... I guess tomorrow I'm telling her.
