After deciding to go to bed early to rise for the training, I found myself unable to sleep as Kyle's face kept popping up in my mind. The thought of our earlier encounter was both embarrassing and unforgettable.The next morning, we all gathered at the running tracks for the morning exercise. Despite my dislike for jogging, I had no choice but to participate, as many soldiers, including Kyle, were observing us on our first day.Following the exercise, the team leaders led us to the cafeteria for breakfast. Cindy joined us as we settled in to enjoy our meal. To my surprise, Kyle and his friends chose to sit right beside us.It was uncomfortable having Kyle directly across from me, his eyes fixed on me."A rumor is going around that many girls joined because of us," Jason said with a smirk."Isn't it obvious?" Cindy replied."What about you girls? Have you fallen for us too?" Jason asked, looking at us."No... We just participated to make good memories before we get busy," Rosa answered confidently."What about you, Ms. Gold?" Jason inquired."You can just call me Victoria or Vicki. And I have the same reasons as Rosa," I replied."Then what do you think about Kyle? Is he handsome enough for you to fall for him?" Jason teased.(My mind: Something isn't right... He must have noticed me looking at Kyle last night and now he's teasing me)"Haha... That's funny... I don't think he's handsome. He's just average-looking, and there's nothing about him that makes me fall for him... He's not my type," I said, trying to play it cool.As soon as I finished speaking, everyone at the table stared at me in surprise, as if I'd said something outrageous."Haha... It's the first time I've heard a girl say Kyle isn't handsome," Cindy remarked.I forced a smile and quickly excused myself to the dorm. After some training sessions, a few of us were assigned to clean the indoor stadium. As evening approached, it grew dark, and Rosa, Tina, and I were left to finish cleaning.Rosa and Tina left me alone to grab some snacks for us. A few minutes later, I heard the door open."Why did you take so long to return? I was freaking out here alone," I complained, thinking it was the girls.But there was no reply, so I quickly turned to look at the door... It was Kyle."What are you doing here alone at night?" he asked in a gentle voice.
