Chapter 4

Sweat dribbled on my back, bones making creaking noises where they shouldn't be. Actually, I don't think bones should be making noises at all. It's been a couple days and I only get a rest when she says I am allowed to do so. Oddly enough, it seemed the bones I destroyed regenerated back the next day and gotten stronger? Don't remember humans having that ability, but oh well, let's just blame it on fantasy. I mean look at the muscle head that is mother. I don't think anyone in my past life can become her without using steroids.

The sense of pain of the weights weighing down my body is also disappearing. I do not know if this is contributed by my muscles being strengthened and resisting the mass or my nerves dedicated for pain is slowly deteriorating. I think it's a mix of both.

My movement stopped. Something was moving towards me. "Ah. A wolf." Grey fur coated the beast, with purple eyes and yellow teeth being exposed straight at me.

"What a coincidence, I needed something to release my pent-up anger anyway!" Silvery, unusual energy filled my body, making it feel like a feather. It covered my body and started to spike up around my fist and feet. One leap and then a bang on its cranium. Brain matter and the like flew away into the sky, leaving a headless wolf. "Wolves are dangerous, right? Eh. Should be a good enough excuse…" I grab the tail and start to run back home.

Mother looked annoyed. She looked at the dead wolf and then looked at me, "really?"

"Uh...did I do something wrong?", looking at her dumb founded. This time I was genuinely baffled. Normally, I would pretend to be a dumb kid, but this time, I was completely confused.

She shook her head, "this time it seems you really are confused. It is understandable, I guess. To think you would have awakened aura in a couple of days at the age of 2. It is unheard of."

Aura? Swordmen type of stuff? You mean I, Taiyo, had unlocked some mystical powers.

"Now we know you really are your father's son."

My father? I give him a look, he'd blush in embarrassment, whilst turning his head. The fuck is he getting embarrassed for? No, you got stop with the cursing. I have turned over a new leaf.

I'd take in a deep breath in, and then a deep breath out. "So are we going to train this aura?"

"No." Mother replied

"Huh? Why?" This is getting more confusing.

"Well, you see son, I have not mastered the art of aura, the skills and combat you have witnessed from me had come from heritage, technique and my excellent muscles!" She posed and flexed her muscles, which all gleamed and shined.

"Then why can't father train me in aura?" I asked.

"It would be detrimental to the current regime you currently are doing. If you use aura, you will start over relying it in physical training, stopping your muscles from developing nice and efficiently. In fact, we identified this, when you blow the head off of this wolf. We saw some aura lingering on its corpse." She placed her hands over my shoulders, "but what should have happened is that you should have wrestled the wolf and choked it to death." She then made a big sigh. "it seems there is only one way to stop this. Akira, its now up to you."

Father, looking passive as always, stood up and then walked towards me. "Son, it might seem weird but, drink my blood."

"Huh?"

He gripped a knife and cut his finger, creating a small flesh wound. Blood started to dribble out of his hand. "Now drink it son."

"…"

"Don't be shy, say aaaah" He slowly moved his finger and plopped it in my mouth.

"…"

"You will not be able to use aura unless your life is in critical danger. You will always prioritize your safety."

"Wait wha-?"

His eyes turned scarlet red and red energy covered my body, before finally dissipating. "Whew, finally done," he said in a gentle voice, "What a workout, ahahah, seems like I need to exercise some more."

What was that? Is it important? Eh, who cares.

I tried to release my aura, but nothing comes out. Isn't his ability a bit broken? The guy could literally make the strongest people to lose their abilities from what I understand. My mind had changed, father is not the weakling I though he was, I will finally give him the respect he deserved.

Akira seemed to recognize awe in his son's eyes, feeling a bit guilty and spoke, "son, the ability isn't that great. Whilst I am able to manipulate a person abilities and thoughts with my blood interacting their inner body, it has some conditions needing to be met. First, it uses up my life force depending on how willing the other person is accepting the condition, their blood type and blood relation. With our relationship, the lifeforce I lost was equivalent to a day or so. Second, the blood must either hit the enemies via flesh wound, entrances, or eyeballs. Third, it uses my blood and old blood cannot be used as there is time limit of 3 minutes, before my ability disappears from my blood. And finally, the ability disappears when I die."

Akira laughed awkwardly before sitting back down on a chair to do some knitting.

All the respect that Taiyo had for his father's ability went down the drain, but his character? That was only amplified.
