Ch 6

As the battle of Sanyou came to an end, the Qin army emerged victorious, but the toll of war weighed heavily on the soldiers. I stood atop a hill, overseeing the battlefield as the remnants of the Wei army fled in disarray. The air was thick with the scent of blood and smoke, but the triumphant cheers of my soldiers filled the sky. The victory was ours, but I knew that greater challenges lay ahead.

After securing the battlefield, I returned to the Qin capital to report the success of the campaign to King Ei Sei. Alongside Shin, Mou Ten, and Ou Hon, we stood before the throne, recounting the details of the battle. Ei Sei, though pleased with the victory, reminded us that the war for unification had only just begun.

With the capture of Sanyou, my status in Qin rose even further. My troops had proven their strength, and my name was now whispered across the lands, feared by enemies and respected by allies. However, this also meant that I had drawn the attention of Ryo Fui and his faction. As I left the palace, a messenger approached me with an invitation from Ryo Fui himself.

Understanding the political implications, I accepted the invitation and arrived at Ryo Fui's grand estate. The chancellor, ever the cunning manipulator, greeted me with a smile that did little to hide his true intentions. He praised my achievements and subtly hinted at the benefits of joining his faction. I knew better than to fall into his schemes and responded diplomatically, making it clear that my allegiance lay with Ei Sei.

The meeting ended with an unspoken challenge between us, a silent war of influence that would only escalate in the coming months.

Meanwhile, back in my territory, my troops and people continued to prosper. Trade flourished, and my city became a hub of commerce and military strength. I expanded my army further, training them in both conventional warfare and specialized tactics. The dungeon I had created using my AI system became a vital training ground, where my soldiers honed their skills against powerful adversaries.

One day, a report arrived from the northern borders—Zhao had begun mobilizing their forces. It seemed that our alliance with them was crumbling, and war was imminent once more. Ei Sei summoned his generals for a war council, and as one of the rising commanders of Qin, I was among those called.

The decision was made to launch a preemptive strike before Zhao could fully prepare. This time, I was entrusted with leading a force of 50,000 elite soldiers to the northern front. Shin and his Hi Shin Unit were to accompany me, alongside Mou Ten and Ou Hon.

As we marched towards the battlefield, I couldn't shake the feeling that this war would be different. The enemy we faced was no ordinary army—rumors spoke of a Zhao general whose strength rivaled even the great Ou Ki.

The war for unification was far from over, and I was ready to carve my name further into the annals of history.
