Trained as a cripple[3]

"You might have learned to use the movement skill but you still are yet to perfect it!"

The old man said as he tied Yang Ding in chains. On the other end, the chains were connected to huge tree logs that made movement for him impossible.

"Try to sprint while connected to these"

The old man caressed his white beard.

Yang Ding gulped but didn't refute.

With a burst of Yang energy, he strides forward. Pulling the logs behind him. It was fine at first but little by little he got exhausted. He was pushing himself to his limit. Continuously channeling his energy to his leg was tiring him out. It wasn't long when the burst of yang energy-reduced only to be called a sizzle.

It wasn't enough to stride him forward. He tripped and fell. The tree logs still moved with their momentum and cut through the air and then through the ground pulling Yang Ding with it.

"Ah!" he screamed in pain. His face was being ground against the rough ground. Splinters and pebbles pierced his jade-like skin.

His face was covered in blood, his nose bleeding and his hands scraped.

The old man flew towards him and picked him from the ground destroying the chains.

Raising him by his trunk he took him back inside his abode.

Yang Ding was back to his training again.

"Huff huff" he was panting but he didn't want to stop as he had done through dangerous experiences whenever he tried to stop.

Thanks to the old man's rich energy he can make quick recoveries

"I will leave you to reflect on your newfound technique yourself. You need to find a way to incorporate it with your fighting style and your new body and I believe only you can do that. You can see that I have never lost a leg of mine so figuring out a suitable battle style for yourself is a job you need to do alone. Come to me when you think that you have received enlightenment on the matter"

"Yes, Master." Yang Ding complied. He had a similar thought and just wanted to see what the old man wanted to say.

The old man went back to his small abode leaving Yang Ding outside to train by himself.

It was a small wooden house. No paint, no structures just a wooden house that could protect one in times of a storm.

"I wonder why he lives in such a shabby place"

Even if he was living in seclusion and cultivating he would rather do so deep in the caves rather than in a weak wooden house that is always prone to be attacked by wild beasts.

Though he doubts that owing to the old man's presence any beasts would approach the hut but they could still act as a disturbance spoiling one's focus.

Yang Ding shrugged.

"I will think about his identity later"

"For now," he channeled his energy to his tattoo.

[User: Yang Ding]

[Cultivation level: 2nd stage of Ice Profound Realm]

[exp:

[HP: 100]

[Strength: 73]

[Agility: 62]

[Stamina: 108]

[Movement skill: Divine Sprint Manifestation]

It was as he had suspected. This system is much more useful than he thought. Not only did it help in learning the skill in hours that would have taken days. It also listed that very skill in it.

"I wonder why my previously learned skills and movement techniques are not listed"

But what weighed on his mind was something else.

"Does he know about my system?"

Even though Yang Ding had shown unimaginable speed in deciphering the movement skill the old man wasn't moved at all. Such comprehension speed would be considered an impossible talent in the usual case.

"He probably knows about my system that's why he didn't react. Well it is not like I can do anything against him to make him speak"

Yang Ding shook his head.

"Well whatever, let's train for now"

Yang Ding brandished his sword and began swinging it in thin air.

This sword is the only sovereign that reminds it of his sect.

The breeze fluttered the tree canopies. The beasts at the wild howled in the distance but didn't dare to approach.

Yang Ding sprinted here and there while swinging his sword from time to time to find out his art of fighting.

He made marks on the floor of the earth as he sprinted

He might be a cripple but his body is strengthened as that of an Ice Profound Cultivatists coupled with the years of experience that he had accumulated, he wasn't to be trifled with.

Little by little, he was getting used to his new body form.

"I guess this is enough for now. I have something I want to test but should I?"

Yang Ding was contemplating whether he should take such risks.

"There is not much use in thinking. Either I will be victorious or a dead person!"

He sheathed his sword and channeled his energy and rushed into the forest.

"I will only lurk in the weaker areas for now"

As soon as he entered the forest three imps found their way to him.

"1st sword technique: Serene flow" he breathed out as he unsheathed his sword.

The next moment the three imps were cut into two pieces as he used his sword technique along with his Sprinting Manifestation. His sword flowed like the ripples in still water... calm and smooth.

Black blood belonging to the imps dripped from the tip of his sword.

[ Exp recieved]

"As I had thought! I was receiving Exp from killing these beasts!"

He had more or less figured out how this Exp system works.

"I get Exp from killing monsters and that in turn raises my cultivation!"

He was bewildered at this realization. He felt like a child who had found a new toy to play with.

"Hahahaha! Nice, so sweet!"

He ducked as he collected the beast cores the imps had left behind.
