Love is Not Selfish!

The elderly Wilsons had always been righteous people.

Seeing her granddaughter shouting like a shrew, old Mrs Wilson could no longer bear with the aggrieved feeling in her heart. She was now feeling extremely regretful for not properly teaching her daughter and always going along with her decisions.

So, this time Old Mrs Wilson resolutely gave a tight slap across Reine's face and said, "Reine, where did you leave your brain? Can't you still realize that everyone has already become aware of what the truth is! You still keep on harping about getting justice! Ask your own conscience if what you and your mother has done is right or wrong!"

Reine who had yet to realize that everyone was already aware of her and her mother's true colours, finally saw the defeated expression on her mother's face.

She finally realized that everything was over and slumped onto the ground in shock.

No longer being able to think clearly, Reine mumbled to her mother, "Mom? H-how did this happen? That...that person clearly told us that no one would be able to prove that this DNA document is fake! So, how, how? Mom, do you think that person lied to us? We even made a deal to give him information about the Romanov siblings in return for his help!"

As Reine kept mumbling in a daze, Mrs Wilson got shocked when she heard her daughter exposing their entire plan.

She angrily shouted, "Stupid! Shut up!"

But it was already too late.

As soon as everyone had heard that the Wilsons had meant to sell information about the Romanov siblings to an outsider, everyone in the room had a grim expression on their faces.

The elderly Wilson felt so angry at their daughter and granddaughter's behaviour, that they almost collapsed on the floor.

Old Mr Wilson furiously hauled up his daughter and granddaughter from the floor and shouted at Mrs Wilson, "Your mother and I must have done something unforgiving in our last life to get a daughter with such unscrupulous behaviour! Sandra, how old are you? You are yourself already a mother to a twenty-three years old daughter! How...how can you do such atrocious things? Did your conscience get eaten by a dog?"

Initially, Mrs Sandra was listening to her father's rebuke silently.

However, she soon started to laugh with tears streaming down her face. Her hair and clothes had already become dishevelled, making her appearance seem like that of a destitute.

Mrs Sandra suddenly looked at Mr Romanov and viciously glared, "You were right, Andrew! I'm no longer the girl that I used to be! Even I can't recognize myself! But you know what? All this is because of you! I have become like this because I love you so much!

I loved you for so many years and always thought that you would eventually look at me! But what did you do? Not only did you not even throw a glance at me, as soon as that bitch Amelia came into your life, but you could also see no one other than her!"

Mrs Wilson sobbed and continued shouting without giving anyone a chance to interrupt her.

"But Andrew, tell me! Do you think that bitch Amelia can love you more than me? She doesn't even know you for as long as I do! How can she know you or love you more than me?"

After Mrs Sandra finished ranting, Aelia finally opened her mouth as she could no longer hear the delusional words of the woman shouting at her father!

Aelia turned to look at Mrs Sandra and said in a clear voice, "Aunt Sandra, you are going on and on about how much you love dad! Yet, at the first chance you got, you pushed the responsibility of your bad decisions to my father! I don't know if this is what you think love is, but let me correct your perception! What you deemed as so much love is just your own selfish desire.

If you truly loved him, you'd have been satisfied to see dad be happy after meeting mom! Aunt Sandra, love is not the selfish, ugly thing you perceived it to be!

And did my dad tell you to go and make such bad decisions one after the other? Not only are you extremely selfish, but you are also a coward who doesn't dare to take responsibility for her own actions!"

Aelia's clear and cold voice felt like a direct stab to Mrs Wilson's heart. In front of everyone, Aelia had unhesitatingly pointed out what Mrs Sandra had dared not admit even to herself.

As Mrs Sandra stared at the young lady who looked back at her with a clear gaze, she felt a bitter feeling welling up in her heart.

She could no longer push away the guilt she felt due to her bad decisions. However, after admitting to herself that her decisions were indeed wrong, Mrs Sandra felt a heavy weight being lifted from her shoulders.

She took her daughter's hand and turned to leave.

"Dad, mom, let's go! I no longer have a face to stay here!"

Mrs Sandra did not apologize to anyone as she knew she would no longer be treated even as an acquaintance by the Romanov family! Even if the right thing was to apologize, she wanted to hold onto her last shred of dignity and did not want to lower her head in front of the man she had loved for so many years.

After the elderly Wilsons repeatedly apologized on behalf of their daughter and granddaughter, the Wilson family prepared to leave the Romanov mansion.

However, some actions after being taken had irreversible results and could not be overturned by a simple apology.

As soon as Azrael, Asher and Aelia had heard that someone had approached the Wilsons to get information about the siblings in exchange for their help, the expression on their faces darkened.

All the three of them had the same thought, 'Someone related to the Delphian prophecy about the approaching Calamity might have contacted Mrs Wilson!'

Asher who had been silent all this time, suddenly stood up and barred the Wilsons from leaving.

Seeing this, Reine shouted, "Have you guys not humiliated us enough? Why are you still stopping us from leaving?"

Old Mr Wilson quickly reprimanded his granddaughter, "Reine, shut up if you can't talk like a civilized person!"

The elderly man turned to look at the handsome man blocking their way. He had previously heard from his daughter that Aelia was engaged to the Crown Prince of Delphia.

So, as soon as the old man saw a handsome youth with an extraordinary aura sitting beside Aelia, he recognized the identity of the person.

Now, when this Delphian Prince suddenly blocked their way, Mr Wilson suddenly felt a bad premonition in his heart.
