Feeling Blessed

Mrs Sandra was already feeling extremely embarrassed after being exposed so thoroughly as a selfish and cowardly person.

Now, after her way being suddenly blocked by Asher, her embarrassed emotions were replaced by a mixture of trepidation and fear.

The blood drained from her face, as she heard Asher say, "Excuse us, Mr Wilson! Though initially, we wanted you to take her away from the mansion, now the circumstances have changed."

After saying this, Asher turned to Azrael to indicate something and Azrael nodded.

Azrael took out an identification badge with the insignia of the Delphian Royal family carved in it. This particular badge was given to only the highest-ranking officials of the Delphian Kingdom. Currently, besides the personal guard and advisor of Emperor Livius, only Azrael and Julian, the personal advisor and secretary of the Crown Prince had this special badge.

Showing his identification to the Wilsons, Azrael said, "Mrs Sandra Wilson will be taken into custody by the Delphian military for interrogation."

As soon as Mrs Sandra heard Azrael's words, her already pale face turned completely ashen and she suddenly lost the strength in her legs to keep standing.

As Reine saw her mother losing her balance and falling to the ground in shock, her heart felt choked with fear.

With puffy eyes and tears rolling down her cheeks, she could only cry out in agitation, "Why? Why are you suddenly arresting her! This is not Delphia! Who are you to arrest a citizen of Phillon and based on what?"

Asher merely glanced at the screaming girl and turned his gaze towards old Mr Wilson.

"You can choose to cooperate with us now when we are still giving you face, or you can choose not to cooperate. Anyway, all I have to do is call your country's President to let you know whether or not we have the right to arrest a Phillonian citizen! What do you think will happen to the Wilson family when word gets out that the only daughter of the family was arrested on the charge of conspiring with Delphia's opponents to harm the Crown Princess of Delphia and her family.

Hearing Asher's words, all the colour drained from the Wilson's faces. The elderly Wilsons, specially Old Mrs Wilson now regretted it very much. She regretted her decision of not stopping her daughter from going down the wrong path, when she still had the chance!

Now, her daughter's life was in jeopardy due to her failure in teaching her daughter properly.

As Reine continues sobbing, Mrs Sandra who was sitting on the floor in a daze, suddenly looked at Azrael and Asher with a determined gaze.

She said, "I'll go with you guys! I'll cooperate with you in doing whatever you want! I'll answer anything you want to know! Just don't implicate my daughter in this matter! Please! That's my only request!"

Mrs Sandra bowed with silent tears streaming down her cheeks.

Hearing her request, Azrael nodded and said, "Alright! We don't have anything to do with Reine anyway! But you'll have to come with us to Delphia!"

As soon as the elderly Wilsons heard this, their already anxious faces now showed traces of fear and helplessness.

Old Mr Wilson knew that his daughter had committed a grave crime. But how could a father simply watch his daughter being possibly driven down a path that could endanger her life?

However, though he still wanted to get her out of this predicament, he did not have the means to help her in any way.

This was because, though it was not public knowledge, but having various connections over the years, how could the elderly Wilsons not know that Delphia had quite some powers in the upper management of the Phillonian government.

Thus, even if old Mr Wilson wanted to help his daughter, he had no means to do so. With just a call from Asher, the entire Wilson family could fall out with the government of Phillon.

He could only watch with a helpless expression as his daughter prepared herself to go to Delphia.

Contrary to the elderly Wilsons' agitated expression, Mrs Sandra had a calm expression on her face. Actually, her eyes were vacant and completely devoid of any emotions.

The reason she was not feeling anxious at all was because she had completely given up. She had realized that some of her actions had irreversible consequences.

Thus, she had mentally prepared herself to expect the worst. The most she could do was to give her daughter, Reine to not be entangled in this mess.

Therefore, as soon as Mrs Wilson heard Azrael's confirmation that they would not implicate Reine, she stood up and gave Reine and her own elderly parents a watery smile.

"Mom, Dad, I know I've disappointed you guys! I'm sorry to burden you at this old age! But please take care of Reine on my behalf! Please teach her the things I failed to teach!"

Hearing their daughter's words that we're akin to saying goodbye forever, old Mrs Wilson said while choking on her words, "What are you saying? When you return in a few days after the investigation, you yourself can teach your daughter! Your daughter is still young and insensible! She still needs her mother to teach her things properly! So, don't give up! Alright?"

Hearing her elderly mother's words, Mrs Sandra just smiled! How could she hope to return to her life in Phillon after being taken away to Delphia? After all, she too knew how every outsider who entered Delphia had failed to set foot outside the country with intact mental and physical health.

Old Mrs Wilson too knew this fact, but she still had to believe that her daughter would be alright, lest she should fall apart!

Reine sobbed as she was soon forced to leave with her grandparents who had a desolate look on their faces.

After the Wilsons left the Romanov mansion, the sitting room suddenly became quiet.

Mrs Wilson kept standing there with a vacant gaze.

Asher put his arms around Aelia's shoulders and announced, "Initially, we had planned to set off tomorrow! But, now I think we should leave as soon as possible! It would be best if we leave for Delphia after lunch!"

Azrael too nodded in agreement with Asher's words.

Feeling the gravity of the situation, Mr Romanov nodded. He asked the attendants to quickly serve their lunch.

Mrs Wilson said that she felt full and did not wish to have lunch. Seeing her go upstairs to what previously used to be Reine's room, no one told her to stay and have lunch with them.

At the dining table, the mood felt strange as everyone was lost in their own thoughts!

Seeing his Angel lost in thoughts, Asher placed a few dishes on her plate and said, "Don't think so much! Everything will be alright! We'll be leaving behind some of our people here to protect dad and Aylin!"

Hearing this, Aelia initially felt surprised, but soon her surprised feeling turned into gratitude. She could not express the intense emotions in her heart was feeling! How blessed was she to be understood by her lover so well that she didn't even have to open her mouth to express her concerns!

Actually, as soon as Asher saw the frown on Aelia's face, how could he not know that his Angel was concerned about her family's safety!

Aelia finally put down her worries and gave Asher a bright smile.

She had previously seen Asher had a somewhat sweet tooth, so when the desserts were served she added an extra spoonful of pudding to Asher's portions.

This did not go unnoticed by either Asher or Azrael.
