"You promised Mary! You swore on the Styx!" Other me had said.
"Draco?" I asked standing up.
"Yes it's me! In case you've never pissed off a familiar, this is what happens!" Draco yelled motioning to her new, non snake, body.
"I was careful! I couldn't just leave Penny like that!" I yelled back.
"Oh gods! I'm talking to a literal child!" Draco looked up like she was ready to murder Apollo for sending her here.
"Draco, calm down. If I had really broken my promise I would've burned from the inside out." I said walking towards Draco slowly.
"No! No, no, no! You betrayed my trust you Dead Haired Daughter of Hades!" Draco knocked over another brazier in a fit.
I held Draco tightly and saw black tears streaming down her face "Draco, I promise that absolutely nothing will happen until it's time. I'm facing death, Draco. That's all it is." I said calmly.
Draco nodded slowly "I have to clean up here….you go back to Penny." she snapped her fingers and I woke back up.
"-ary! wake up!" Penny yelled at me as she shook me violently.
I sat up and rubbed my head. "Ooowww." I said quietly, feeling a migraine setting in.
"Mary? You ok?!" Penny said worriedly looking at me.
"Yeah, my familiar got upset and forcefully put me under. Then she tore up my mind scape in a fit." I explained.
"Was that who that girl was?" Penny asked.
I nodded. "That was me before my hair and eyes were flash dyed."
"Oh…sometimes I forget that your hair and eyes aren't like that by choice." Penny said looking at my hair.
I nodded and laid down. My head was absolutely killing me and throbbing with a migraine, whatever Draco did to my mind she needed to fix it. I noticed that Penny had laid next to me and was staring at the ceiling with me. I put my hand over my right eye and clenched my teeth.
"Headache?" Penny asked.
I nodded slowly. "Yeah, it feels like someone put a hot needle through my eye." I answered.
"Magic or physical headache?" Penny continued with her questions.
"I'm pretty sure it's magically caused. Draco tore everything the fuck up." I answered.
I'm decently sure Penny wanted to help me, but she didn't know magic. There was finally something that she wasn't prepared for. Penny finally just hugged my and waited for me to get better. I slowly hugged her back and stayed as still as I could. Penny hummed quietly as she rubbed my back, and I pulled her closer and closed my eyes. So help me gods if I fell asleep my first kiss with Penny would be me leaning in and slapping her.
I slowly started getting better, Draco was finally fixing everything in my head. I enjoyed the company, but I needed some alone time for a bit.
"Penny, how about you go downstairs and start identifying the fish in Latin." I whispered quietly, knowing she would enjoy the challenge.
"Ok, I'll come get you in a bit." Penny said getting up slowly.
Penny walked out of the room, and the silence slowly settled in. It matched the rooms pitch black lighting that engulfed me in darkness. Strangely enough, it wasn't hard to see. I guess this was a trick children of darkness had. Don't get me wrong, I've been in dark rooms but it was nothing like this. Andromeda did always give in to that no sunlight means a stronger connection to the darker side of magic.
I closed my eyes and breathed deeply. I continued the deep breaths and heard sand flowing through an hour glass. I sat up quickly, I thought the Morpheus hour glass stopped following me after I met Khaos. I was right, but I was not prepared for what was there instead. Dreamwalker sat on a chair moving an hour glass up and down making the sand go through it quicker.
The eyes of Dreamwalker's mask were glowing gold, and her hair was practically invisible. On her dark clothes I realized there was a bright gold 5 patched on to her uniform above a silver and black medal with two spears crossed. I believed it was a minor god Medal of Mars knockoff.
"Hello Daughter of Pluto. I'm Dreamwalker, current leader of The Minor God Five. My father sent me to give you an out from this battle. Pull yourself and Keaton out. After what I just saw between you and the Athena girl, take Seth and Penny as well." Dreamwalker said politely, her voice was not what I was expecting.
Dreamwalker's voice was soft and kind, rather than a harsh commanding tone that I've heard from other legion captains. It felt like when I met Draco and her voice was like mine instead of being similar to Medusa's. I looked at Dreamwalker and realized that she had broken her hour glass and was moving sand around that was glowing with a beautiful golden hue.
Dreamwalker tilted her head. "My father removed the hourglass hex for a reason. He realized that you would just keep breaking it instead of using it, so he called Khaos. She gave us a no kill order, of course that doesn't mean that if you choose to fight us I won't kill you." She said moving sand between her fingers.
"Then be ready to kill us if you can Dreamwalker." I said through a smile.
Dreamwalker's eyes glowed through her mask and and she disappeared in a column of sand that she raised up from the floor to surround her. Soon after she raised the sand column it fell on the floor as a pile of sand, and Dreamwalker was gone.
I sat down and realized that my migraine had gone away. Thank gods, I thought to myself. I walked downstairs to Penny, Seth, Olivia, and Mino who were watching Sara.
"I can't believe she's been gone this long." Seth said inspecting Sara, who was still staring at the fish tank.
"Atlantians can go into this state for three days. It's scary since they don't blink." Olivia responded watching Seth.
"Is that healthy?" Penny asked.
"I think so. The water would moisten their eyes, and they can probably filter the salt out of salt water. They just need to eat." Mino said.
Sara finally came to and she blinked her eyes constantly. "Where are all of my fish?" Sara asked looking around through rapid blinks.
"Basement tank, I told your pet sharks that if they eat the fish I would take their fins for soup." Olivia said through a wicked smile.
"They're Nurse Sharks, not great whites." Sara shuddered a bit. "I hate actual sharks, they give me the creeps."
And there's why Sara wasn't second in command of Neptune's Legion, in combat at least, she was absolutely terrified of sharks and sea snakes (she also had a fear of dolphins and giant squids). It was an understandable fear, but weird for a Daughter of Poseidon.
I sat next to Sara anticipating an attack on Sara's house. I knew was coming soon, and I wanted to relax just a bit. Unfortunately for me, that peace would not be long. Considering the arrow that had just broke the window and landed in front of Sara's foot.
"Goddammit…" I said standing up and sighing deeply.
"And the war starts." Seth said taking his crossbow off his back and heading upstairs.
Seth probably went to go see Adam and help him watch over the about to be battlefield while the rest of us drew out swords and daggers. All of us except Sara who manifested dual Xiphe made out of water and salt appear in her hands. We were ready for war, especially with Pluto's Guard backing our defense.
