CHAPTER LXIX:Day Three, The Final Offense.

Pluto's guard was still setting up the explosives on the door. They were hooking up two bricks of C4 with some fuse. They had found the equipment on soldier who had died with it. Keaton moved everyone back after focusing the blast on the double door handle, and got to safety himself. The fuse was lit by a Legionnaire from Neptune's Blessed.

Now, while we train with swords and shields primarily demigods were trained in modern military tactics. A lot of demigods went to mortal armies after Legion training, so it seemed necessary. Pluto's Guard specialized in improvised explosives. I covered my ears and heard a loud explosion that shocked me for a minute. I heard ringing in my ears since I wasn't used to it. Penny was doing a lot worse, she was on the ground curled up. I ran to her and saw she had earplugs in, which probably helped the worse part of it.

I sat Penny up as Keaton ran up to me. "What happened to her?!" Keaton yelled.

I covered Penny's ears forgetting she had earplugs. "She has Owl Sight, but it effects all of her senses." I said.

"Alright, let's go kid." Keaton said picking Penny up with extreme ease. "I'll get her out of here, Mary. You go fight."

I didn't want to go fight, but I knew Keaton was optimizing his resources. I stood up and went up to the building. The doors were still, surprisingly, on their hinges. The door was barely together though, I braced my shoulder and hit myself against the entrance. The doors flew open and I hit the ground. Legionnaires ran in and I immediately heard sound of combat.

"You alright?" Mino asked helping me up.

My shoulder throbbed with pain, it hurt like hell. I still had the strength to fight though, I drew my regular sword and nodded. I ran through the prison, my feet pounded against the hard concrete, each step sending more pain through my body. I ignored it though as adrenaline pumped through my system. Someone jumped from an open cell, I blocked the hit and slashed their chest. I kept running and moved up the stairs as arrows rained down from above me. I saw more and more of Neptune's Blessed in the mix, and as I ran up the stairs an enemy legionnaire's body rolled down the stairs. There was a crossbow bolt sticking from his neck, and I knew then that Seth was covering me.

When I got upstairs I saw a woman in black clothes with a golden mask on. Dreamwalker was still here, I had to end this now. I drew my dagger and readied myself for a fight just in case. I stepped into a shadow and appeared next to Dreamwalker. I grabbed her from behind quickly and put my blade to her throat.

"We win!" I yelled.

"Not yet!" Dreamwalker yelled back.

A blast of black sand knocked us over the railing. I heard a crack and a shatter, neither of them were good. I stood up and felt pain pulse through my body and a burning in my ankle. I collapsed in pain and zoned out.

I came to in the Golden Gate Bridge. Traffic had stopped, and Iris was looking over Alcatraz with Hades and Poseidon. Iris was smiling while Hades and Poseidon looked like the comedy and tragedy masks for theater. Hades was tragedy, all things happening considered, while Poseidon was comedy. Poseidon was proud of his legion while Hades was worried for his. My guess was that Poseidon saw this as a moral booster while Hades saw this as a waste of troops.

"We're turning this war around brother!" Poseidon laughed.

"Yes, but at what cost? My legion is losing power and troops, and ten mortals are dead Poseidon!" Hades answered.

"Both of you be quiet, we have a visitor." Iris said.

All three of them turned to face me. Hades and Poseidon looked horrified while Iris kept her calm demeanor.

"I know, how is Mary here?" Poseidon asked.

"She's been touched with dream sand, but Dreamwalker retreated earlier today." Iris answered.

"Dreamwalker...retreated?" I asked wondering who I just threatened with death.

"Yeah sweetheart. Crow, Dreamwalker, and Ghost all retreated. Dreamwalker and Ghost went to go fight someone else that's apart of the prophecy." Hades responded looking at me.

"Who else is in danger because of The Minor God Five?" I asked.

"Luna Forrest, she killed one of them last night. I've yet to find out who, but that Legion will not take it well." Iris said, still calm and collected.

I went to speak again but I came back to in Alcatraz. I sat up quickly and looked at the woman next to me. Her eyes were left open and her mask was broken revealing dark skin. Her golden eyes showed she was a daughter of Morpheus, but she wasn't Dreamwalker. Despite all of that she was dead, and I hadn't even learned her name. I tried to stand with no luck, my ankle was definitely broken. I crawled over to a wall and propped myself up against it, as I did I noticed the shouts and sounds of combat had ended.

Keaton walked over to me, and slowly picked me up. "Hey kiddo, you broken?" He asked.

"Mentally? No. Physically? Yes, in two places." I answered.

Keaton sighed. I'll get you some ambrosia kid, past that we're shipping you off to New York with the Owl Eyed girl." He said.

I was grateful for Keaton's kindness, it was needed here. When I got outside Orochi was handing Adam a bento box that I noticed in Orochi's bag when he threw in his rations. I figured Orochi was saving it for Adam, and the promise of food was supposed to keep Adam on his toes. Keaton set me down and reached into a metal kit he carried on his leg. Keaton pulled out a glass vial of ambrosia and snapped the top off, he gave it to me. I gladly, but weakly, took the vial and drank the liquid inside. It tasted like nothing and felt like water, but I could feel myself recovering almost immediately.

"There you go kid." Keaton said.

"Is it really over? The battle?" I asked.

"Yeah, it is. Dreamwalker took half of her forces out, and retreated. What was in that prison was all that was left. Now rest up kid." Keaton responded.

I smiled weakly and laid my head back. I passed out again as the ambrosia took my energy to heal my foot. I came to in my prophecy room to see Draco sitting on my altar as a snake.

"Hello darling, your body looks worse for wear." Draco said.

I stood up and stretched. "Yeah, I'm gonna go relax in my garden. Please wake me up when I'm in New York." I requested politely.

I walked into my garden and enjoyed the peace and quiet. I sat in front of my black apple tree and crossed my legs. I breathed deeply and tried to relax. After three days of harsh and unforgiving combat, I deserved this rest. The worse part of it was that I had to kill actual people. I've dispersed the undead, I've sent shadow monsters back to the depths of Tartarus, and I destroyed a gods mortal form but I never had to kill an actual person. I felt horrible, holding a persons life in my hand was not something I wanted to do again in my lifetime. I knew that it didn't matter though, I knew that I would have to take another's persons life. I was hoping that it'd be Dreamwalker's next though, if I killed her then maybe this war would conclude faster. I continued my deep breathing as time outside passed on seamlessly.
