A big surprise

"Erm Brad I don't think this is the route to the mansion," I said to Brad whilst craning my neck that was less stiff to scan the surroundings as our car swiftly pass by. I was discharged from the hospital today after spending three weeks there. My bones aren't any better but the ache is mild now. I'm still panicking about the fact that I have to be in a wheelchair for many weeks. The feeling of being a liability is churning through my stomach.

"Yes, we are off to Manhattan" He replies to me and shifted his attention back to his phone, typing something furiously.

"Why ?"

He raised his head to look at me.

"It's part of the big surprise," he says winking at me.

I arched my brows at him, ripping out a sigh. I hate surprises, being kept in the dark is no fun now.

He squeezes my hand beaming an assuring smile.
