Chapter 59: Su Tian

That Sunday morning Su Tian woke up early and went out for a jog as she would do on any normal day. Except today was anything but normal. It's the day of reckoning for the little orphan girl Lee Miyeon. As she jogged her favorite waterfront route in District 1, Su Tian couldn't help but feel excited at the thought of finally being reunited with Guo Feng. After the task was done in Y City, Su Tian would fly to Seoul to meet with Guo Feng and the plan was to return together to San Francisco. Should anything go awry, Su Tian would tentatively fly to Milan where she would stay for a few months until everything cools down.

Su Tian came from a poor Chinese family who had immigrated to Korea in search of a better life. However, nothing much had changed when they moved to Korea from C Country. Her parents still worked manual labor jobs and as a child Su Tian was bullied in school for being Chinese. Su Tian hated going to school; she couldn't speak the language and she had no friends. And after one particularly intense fight with her parents, she decided to drop out of school and leave home. At a young age, Su Tian  realized that her beauty was her main asset. While working at bars and other hostess clubs, she would always get more customers than the other girls. But she would never sleep with her patrons, she knew she was better than this. She wouldn't abandon her pride and sell her body to make a living.

One night when Su Ning was at work pouring drinks as usual, there had been a violent, drunk customer who cornered her in an empty room she'd been cleaning and attempted to force himself on her. If not for the arrival of Guo Feng who was on a wheelchair being accompanied by his assistant, Su Tian would have lost her dignity that day. When she had to quit her job at the club for the disturbance caused by the patron, it was also Guo Feng who had offered her employment as a maid in his manor. That was 10 years ago, when Guo Feng had just arrived in Korea after being kicked out of C Country. He was 19 years of age while Su Tian was only 16 years old.

After she had begun working at the manor, she realized how lonely Guo Feng must have been. There he was in an unknown country injured and cut off from his family, forbidden to return to his homeland. Yet, Guo Feng still managed to do well in his studies and in business. To Su Tian, he was like a shining star in the night sky. And that star said he saw something in her that she had the potential to shine like a diamond. So Guo Feng had Su Tian admitted back into high school and even employed both parents to supervise his factories. In a short span of time, her family's status had completely changed. People no longer looked down on them and even went out of their way to befriend them. When she had been scouted by a fashion magazine in her junior year, it was as if everything Guo Feng had said was coming true. All Su Tian needed to do was trust him.

It was only natural that the teenage Su Tian who had just finished high school would feel deeply  beholden to and begin to develop feelings for her savior. To Su Tian, Guo Feng was the kindest, most attractive man though people believe otherwise. As the son of a Chinese business tycoon and a famous British opera singer, Guo Feng had biracial features that many found good looking. Perhaps his only physical flaws would be a tiny scar on the corner of his left eye and the very obvious limp on his left leg. Though Guo Feng eventually regained some control of his left leg after several bouts of surgeries and the insertion of metal plates, he would forever be walking with a limp. These were enough for many socialites to balk at the thought of being together with a cripple but Su Tian didn't see any of those imperfections. He was the only one who offered a hand to help Su Tian in her times of need. Whenever he would punish her, the punishments would be well deserved since she had not met his expectations.

Su Tian was also the one who had willingly offered herself to Guo Feng when she turned 18. But more so than her body, Guo Feng wanted her loyalty and her devotion. Guo Feng wanted Su Tian to dedicate her life to him and Su Tian did so willingly. Upon learning the truth of his expulsion from C Country and the perpetrators behind his injury, Su Tian was filled with intense hatred and rage. She vowed to Guo Feng that she would do whatever she could so that Lee Miyeon and Lu Minzhe would get the punishment they deserved.
