Eight Scorpions

Sapphire's POV

“Welcome to Room 546!” Two girls yelled as we stepped in the room. Both of them are holding a party popper with big smiles plastered on their faces. One of the two came to us. She has curly hair and has hazel brown eyes that shows how graceful she is. “Hi! I'm Alyssa Hernandez, the cutest among everyone!” she said cheerfully while raising her hands up high as if she's trying to reach for something.

She was then pushed by the other girl that caused Alyssa to almost lose her balance. I looked at the girl who's in front of us right now. Compared to Alyssa, her hair's straight and is fully black. Her eyes have a shade of brown and she's skinnier than her. She takes a bow before introducing herself to us. “Buenos dias mi amigas! My name is Clarizza Jimenez, the loveliest of them all!”

“And we are the Crazy Duo!” Oh god. I want to get swallowed by the ground. I'm already having a hard time controlling my temper with Gianna and now, two has been added? All in all there are three people who would annoy me everyday. Is this some kind of a punishment from the heavens? I might go insane if these three join forces.

“Omg! Hiii! I didn't expect that we'd have roommates. I'm Gianna! Gianna Ylves. But you can call me Gia or Anna or anything you want to call me.” Gianna gracefully greeted them. They were smiling at each other and even hand-shaked. Argh! Can this get any worse?! When they noticed that I was being serious, they turned to me and composed themselves.

“Um, this is my best friend, Sapphire.” Gianna said. "Saph, introduce yourself." She whispered.

Alyssa and Clarizza were both smiling at me while waiting for me to introduce myself to them. Do I have to when Gianna already did? Ugh.

“Sapphire Quinzel.” I simply nodded, maintaining my cold aura around me. I'm not used to being with other people that's why I only talk less. Usually, people would avoid their gaze from me but these two are different. They're sending me chills with their smile that up to now, still plastered on their faces.

“Nice to meet you both! Come on in! We're so thrilled to have new roommates.” Clarizza shared.

“The last time we had a roommate she ended up dying.” Alyssa said. My eyebrows arched. “Oops! Not because of us but because of cancer. That was 4 years ago, I guess.” They both giggled. I heard Gianna faked a laugh.

“Really? How tragic.”

“Yeah. Anyways, your room's there. We've already arranged it for you.” Clarizza pointed a room in the corner. I roamed my eyes around and I must say, it's well-arranged and spacious. It has a mini-kitchen, a dining table that's good for the fours of us, a couch, and a mini-bookshelf.

I went inside our room. It has two single beds and beside it, each have a mini-table. Each sides of the room also has a cabinet. I went to the bed and sighed. I started unpacking my things.

“We're heading to the cafeteria to grab lunch. If you want to follow, the cafeteria's easy to find. It's inside the House of Griffin, a building for seniors, it's just beside the Respective Building." Alyssa said.

I nodded. “Okay.”

After they went out, Gianna and I continued unpacking our things. After sorting and arranging our things, I laid down my bed and closed my eyes. Gianna did the same. I even heard her humming Camilla Cabeo's Havana. She's been addicted to the song for a week already, and I must say... The song's pretty catchy.

“Saph. I'm hungry. Let's grab some lunch, can we?” she suddenly blurted out while staring at the ceiling.

“Then go grab lunch alone. I'm not in the mood to eat. My stomach's still full----” I was cut off by a growling sound coming from my stomach. How great.

“See? Your stomach disagrees. You're hungry, so get up and let's head to the cafeteria. don't deny it, you're angry stomach spoke up.” I had no choice but to get off the bed. I followed Gianna on the way.

As we walked our way to the cafeteria, all eyes were on us. It's as if it's their first time seeing a human being. They were also whispering to each other which I can still hear. But who cares anyway.

We were heading towards the House of Griffin when I saw a group of men walking towards a guy with big round glasses and carrying thick books. They have a dark aura surrounding them. I witnessed how they pushed the guy with glasses, causing for the books to fall. I stopped walking as my forehead creased. Like what on earth are they doing?

“why'd you stop?” Gianna looked at the direction I was looking. She gasped. “What a pity.”

Bullying... Then I remembered. This school allows bullying. How ironic right? Well... I guess I should just leave them alone. Don't want to get myself in trouble. Besides, I'm hungry. I don't have time to meddle with their business. “Tara.”

After minutes of roaming around, we've finally found the cafeteria! The building was big and has a lot of hallways. Guess Clarizza and Alyssa forgot to give us the directions. Gianna opened the entrance’s double door. The noise of the students greeted us. Some are having food fights, some averted their gaze on us, some are eating peacefully, some are sharing some gossips and having chitchats ,and yeah... They all have their own business.

We took a lin in the counter. I was thinking of having vegetable salad and iced tea while looking at their monitor. “One mango shake, one slice of citrus pie, and one cheese burger.” Gianna ordered, making me hiss. What a pig. “And… Saph? What do you want?”

“Vegetable salad and iced tea.” I answered. “I’ll go find us a seat.” I hurriedly walked away from her. I know she’ll protest because leaving her alone in the counter means she’ll pay for the food. I bet she'd pout nonstop. Imagining it already makes me grimace.

I found a table near the glass window. I took a seat and watche the view. This is a great spot actually. From here, I can see the whole view of the campus' field. There were people who are laying down the green grass and there are those who are playing soccer.

“Deceitful.” Gianna arrived. She placed our orders on the table. Guess what? I was right. I'm fighting the urge to pull off her lips.

“Thanks.” I smirked.

“Hmp.” She rolled her eyes hat made me chuckle. Pfft.

“Well, well, well… Look who’s here.” I didn't have to look at the person because her voice alone already makes me wanna puke. And there's only one person who's capable of making me feel that way. “They shouldn't let a garbage scatter around. And so I thought the security was tight in this academy.”

“Do you hear something, Saph?” asked Gianna.

“Hmm, all I hear is a mouse squeaking. Don’t you think?” I said after taking a sip of my drink.

“Hey! Are you two deaf?! How dare you ignore me?!” I chuckled hearing how irritated she got.

“Uhh, are you talking to us?” Gianna pointed herself while looking around. We got some of the student’s attention but who cares? “Oh. I thought you were talking to yourself. You mentioned mentioned the word garbage so I thought you were referring to yourself.” I smirked. That’s what I like about Gianna.

“Why you---?!” she was cut off by the sudden silence of the room. I got confused.

There I saw a group of men walking in. Mysterious aura was surrounding them. They’re quite familiar. I stared at them, long enough to realize that they were the guys who bullied that poor nerd awhile ago. I averted my gaze to Olivia, and man she's trying to make herself look beautiful. Her expression changed seeing those guys. Pft. She didn’t have to do that. No matter what she does, she can never erase the fact that she looks like clown.

“What are they doing here?”

“It’s very unusual for hem to eat in the cafeteria.”

“I know right. But damn, they're so hot.”

“Shit.”

“Okay. This is awkward.”

And the commotion goes on and on. They sat in the middle of the cafeteria. There were two students holding a tray of food walking towards them. My forehead creased at that scene. They're serving them.

That's when everything made sense. Let me guess, this is one of those cliché stories where those guys are worshipped by everyone and obviously, they’re bad boys acting cool. They must be the so-called-kings of the school. Pft. I want to laugh and those thoughts.

“Hays. Who thought of coming here?” A blonde guy asked. Who wouldn’t hear them talking when everyone’s mouth is zipped?

“I’m not comfortable being here.” The red-haired guy commented.

“It's Hunter's idea. I don't know what's gotten into him.” The brown-haired guy answered the blonde's question.

I had enough listening to their conversation. Everyone was quiet. They’re all looking at those guys. They all looked stoned on their seats.

“Let’s continue eating, Gia. Don’t---“

“Am I in heaven?” Her eyes is full of adoration while looking at them. I rolled my eyes and continued eating.

While I was eating I felt eyes looking at my direction. Everyone was staring at me. I arched a brow at them.

“Ehem.” That's when I noticed that someone was standing in front of us. He's one of those men.

“What?” I heard everyone gasp. What's their problem? It's not like I made a crime.

“I want this table.” The guy said not bothering to look at me. His eyes were focused outside. I hissed and ignored him. We got here first so why would I give up our seat for him? What's he? A King? Pft. More like an ambitious douchebag.

“Bro, we've got a table over there.” The brown-haired guy came.

“Nah. I want this table.” I and Gianna immediately stood up when he suddenly threw our food on the floor. Like, what the fcking hell?!

“Dude…”

“Why the hell did you throw our food away?!” Gianna put her hands on my back, trying to calm me. “Saph, calm down.” She whispered.

“I told you to move away. I want this table, got that?”

“You had your own table right at the middle of the room! Why would you want our table? And how disrespectful of you to throw our food away?! Didn’t you see that we---I was in the middle of eating?!” Okay first of all, I can’t calm down. Second, he’s crazy.

“Yeah whatever.” He pushed us away as he sat on the seat. Okay he's really getting into my nerves.

“Saph!”Alyssa and Clarizza came running towards us but I don''t care. I watched the asshle sit prettily on our table. My hand balled into a fist. I want to punch and strangle him so badly.

“Mr. Harrison, we apologize for our friend’s uhm.. dirty mouth? Ahehe. W-we will go ---“

“Wtf Alyssa?! This man---“ Clarizza covered my mouth ad they pulled me out of the cafeteria.

“You should’ve not talked back to him, Saph! You’re putting your life in danger!” Alyssa said worriedly while pulling me away.

“Whoa re they?" Gianna asked.

“You guys just bumped in to Eight Scorpions.”
