CHAPTER:11

BEYANCA'S POV

Blue.

The eyes were blue in color. Just like Becca's.

I moved my gaze down from the eyes to his nose and then mouth which was- moving. I quickly zoomed out and saw his complete face to see he was speaking. Only then did I realise that I zoned out!

Since when? I never zone out!

I felt a pat on my shoulder just then making me snap out of ny thoughts completely.

"Heyyy-" he spoke again and gave me a smile. A charming one.

"Hi. I apologize I just zoned out there for a while- what were you saying?" I replied still looking at his face.

No, not because it was attractive- I mean he certainly is attractive but that's not why I was continously looking at him. It's just- he's familiar. His face seems familiar.

"Yeah that's okay. I was actually apologizing for running into you, I should've seen where I was going. I was just in a hurry. I'm sorry." He said giving another one of his huge-ass, charming, handsome smiles.

Okay hear me out-

There is nothing wrong in finding someone else attractive or beautiful or handsome except your partner, whoever they are. That's completely normal! You find them good-looking because they are. That's it.

I don't know why most couples go on an all-fighting-mode. Like Mike and I have never been the jealous, possessive types- because we're not insecure about each other. Noone should be!

"Yeah that's- that's fine. I should've seen where I was going too." I said to him with a sheepish smile.

He apologized quickly without any attitude so let's just skip the 'giving him an earful part' , yeah?

Afterall, I wasn't looking either!

Anyways, back to his familiar face.

Just when I was about to ask his name, he spoke again.

"That's completely fine as well. So-" He started but was cut off by the bell-ringing.

"Shit- I'm sorry, I should really get going!" He spoke and sprinted- literally sprinted towards the direction I was coming from.

Guess that's my cue to leave for my class as well.

I quickly went towards the locker room, dropped all my stuff, including the colorful stationary I was provided with. I then picked up the things I'd require for my first class which was English and ran to the class.

I was overjoyed when I saw that the teacher wasn't there. I didn't want to be late. I looked around and the classroom was full of students. Okay-

Since when did so many people started attending English class???

I could see many familiar faces and by many I mean all except a few! I also recognised some jocks of our school sitting.

Okay. Since when did they started attending English class and that too on time? I've nothing against them or English, I actually love English but last I remember they were either usually late-very late or skipping this class.

Yes, people change. Agreed. But they're not the ones to change. They were assholes and most probably still are!

Now that is very judgy and bitchy of me but I'm just being honest.

Anyways, I quickly scanned the classroom for a place to sit and found only four seats empty. One was in the far left corner where students are asphyxiated. No seriously, that place is so damn suffocating, why do they even have seats there? No one sits there, so how hard can it be to remove the seats to a more air-y and breathable place!

The other one was at the back of the middle row which was surrounded by jocks or jerks, one can say whatever they want!

Potato, potah-to! Just like that. So, I was definitely not gonna sit there, not that they would've allowed anyone in their little pavilion, but still no.

The third one was in the same row but the front one.

Okay- well I was a nerd. I still am. A proud nerd. There's nothing wrong or embarrassing in being 'not stupid'.

But well I never really liked sitting in the front seat.

Yeah I hated it. You're right in front of the eyes of the teacher and as much as I've begin to love attention, this is not how and where I want it from!

I prefer sitting somewhere either middle or last. And that brings me to my last option which is a seat in the middle of the nicest row because it is beside the window which overlooks the field.

It is a great distraction and timepass.

Only problem is that a girl was sitting there and the seat which was empty was the one beside her.

Think that I can talk her into letting me sit near the window?

Guess we'll just have to find out!

I went towards where she was sitting with a book in her hand, all engrossed in it. I lightly tapped her shoulder and she did not look up. I did it again and she did it again. And again. And again.

Okay, do her senses not work?

I tried getting her attention again, this time banging the table lightly but not-so lightly a few times and that got her attention I guess.

Well she got startled- so I'm pretty sure yes!

She looked up from her book and looked at me before speaking.

"Yes? Do you need anything?" She spoke while trying so hard to sound mean but well her voice was going down the other lane! It was so polite and beautiful- really, beautiful!

I don't think she can ever yell at anyone or let alone sound rude!

"Yes. Hey, I was wondering if you could maybe let me sit near the window? Please." I said and added a Please at the end.

She kept staring or what she thought- glaring at me for a few seconds. I held her stare and we both did that for a while before she shaked her head sideways and lowered her eyes. Her lips twitching a little and she again looked up at me with amusement twinkling in her eyes. She chuckled before opening her mouth to speak again.

"I really can't glare, can I? She said before letting out one more chuckle and I joined her this time.

"You wanna hear the truth?" I said smiling and she nodded her head telling me to continue.

"You cannot sound mean either!" I said and gave her sheepish smile, trying to control my laugh.

She laughed at that after mumbling a small "I know " and I joined her.

"Anyways, you can sit beside me but I'm sorry I can't let you sit near the window. I'm really not in the mood for English and I'm at a very interesting point in this novel. So I need this more." She said with a sheepish smile.

"It's no problem. " I said giving her a smile of my own and sat down beside her.

"I've never seen you here before. Are you new?" She said as soon as I settled down .

"Yeah, I'm new here.

Beyanca Marie Westbay." I introduced myself and turned towards her a bit. She nodded her head slowly looking at me and her face etched in confusion.

"That name rings a bell! Have we met each other before?" She said and kept her eyes trained on my face. I did the same and inspected her face as well.

"I'm not sure. But you seem somewhat familiar too!" I replied.

"Yeah?" She asked and I just gave her a nod.

"Anyways, Avery knight." She introduced herself with the huge smile plastered on her face.

Knight Knight Knight

Where have I heard it before?

And why her face seems familiar?

I let the questions in my mind slide for a while and we started talking. She is so sweet and polite! I'm completely not used to that because Becca- well Becca can be very mean. Actually she is mean and a bit bitchy all the time! But I'm not complaining, this is a part of why I love her so much. She is brutally honest and very upfront about her opinion.

Avery was an absolute sweetheart throughout the conversation. It was just so easy and nice to talk with her that I did not even notice when the teacher entered the class. But it seems I wasn't the only one who didn't notice. Everyone was busy with their own thing.

It was only when Mr. Woods' voice boomed in the class did everyone stop with their activities and looked at him.

"That's enough Y'all." He said to the ones who definitely did not understood earlier. Everyone silenced this time except for one- Samuel I believe his name is, as far as I remember!

He was sitting at the last bench of the middle row talking to his friend sitting in the front.

"I think he understood what you're trying to say Mr. Cross. Thankyou for being such a generous and dear friend." Mr Woods said. A sickeningly sweet smile graced his face and amusement shining in his eyes. Everyone let out a laugh at his statement and Samuel stopped this time just glaring at everybody and then at Mr. Woods.

"No I don't think he did Mr. Woods.

Though he would've if someone wouldn't have interrupted!" Samuel replied with a hard glare.

I see. Still the same hot- headed, disrespectful, idiot.

"I would've loved to continue the staring game you started Mr. Cross but I've a class and I believe you do too. Why don't we continue it later? Say, after school?" Mr Woods replied holding his stare.

"Perfect. Detention it is then." Mr Woods said clapping his hands together and giving out a huge smile when Samuel did not say anything.

Well he was my favourite teacher for a reason!
