Brief Reunion

Madeline is anxiously sitting in the hospital lobby, waiting to hear about Katelyn. It's been nearly two hours since anyone has told her anything. I hope they let me know something soon, she thinks, glancing at her watch again. Her mama used to say no news is good news, but Madeline would rather know one way or another not be kept in limbo like this.

She glances around the spacious room for the umpteenth time. The bland, earth-tone decor consists of several chairs that make out into small beds. A long table sits in the center. Off to her left is a small kitchen area supplied with essentials. A smaller room, furnished with a similar style table and chairs, sits off of that.

Madeline notices a family tearfully waiting in the corner and another across the room. They were both here when I arrived.
