The Alpha King

Lucy POV

Everything was dark and the scent in the atmosphere has changed. It's the smell of the Alpha. Why am I in another room? Why do I keep smelling the Alpha? What did he do to me? All the questions race through my mind.

That's when I noticed that I was lying on something soft and warm. I was very comfortable for a prisoner. And why am I so warm? Well I'm still cold but warmer than I was. I slowly open my eyes and shut them quickly from the blinding light. That's when I heard the whispering. "Alpha, she has countless injuries and her body is full of scars. Some are years old and some are resently formed. I have a feeling the new ones were made as punishment for het not telling her name to you, and even before that." Said a soft soothing female voice behind the door. Before I could fully process what the stranger said, the voice of the Alpha filled my ears. "I didn't know she was my mate. If I did, I wouldn't have ordered the gaurds to hurt her" he said in a pained and troubled voice. It bothered me to hear the pain in his voice. Why? He hurt me. Because he is our mate. Our other half. Luce's voice pipes into my thoughts. I put that together but he ordered his men to hurt us, Luce. But of cource, she didn't see it my way. He thought we were trying to infultrate his pack. We must not look at the negative for the rest of our lives. He can protect us. Bring us peace. Make us happy after 11 years of pain and suffering. She had a good point with the negative thing. Alright, we'll stay and try to learn to trust him. Luce howled loudly in my head and a massive headache made me groan very loudly. The people at the other side of the door stopped talking completely.

A female opened the door and walked in, followed by the Alpha, my mate. "Your awake. Good. Do you remember what happened?" She asked me in a kind voice. She was wearing a white coat which meant she was a docter. But I couldn't answer her. I was staring at the Alpha. Into his pearsing blue eyes. Nothing compared to my brown ones. I wanted to answer him, but he wasn't the one who asked the question. So I unwillingly, if I might add, looked away and at the docter's green eyes. They weren't as beuatiful as his. But not plain either. So I started answering her question. "Yee-" I started saying but stopped because my throat was very sore and dry. NOT a good combenation. "I'll go get you some water" said the docter. I barely nodded because a wave of dizziness swept over me. I closed my eyes and waited for the dizziness to subside. "Are you alright?" Said a deep and very concerned voice. I slowly open my eyes and see that the voice belonged to my mate. I mean Alpha. My head was filled with my wolf's laughter and I pushed her at the back of my head. I focused on the Alpha and he was looking at me with worry on all of his features. "Yes" I croaked out and my throat screamed in protest. Just then the docter stepped in with a full glass of water. She handed it to me and I took it gladly. I started to drink it and after seconds the glass was empty. "Do you want some more?" The docter asked me. "No, I'm fine." I answered her and my voice was back to normal, well almost. She looked at me with uncertanty but left it there. "I'll come check on you later." She told me and started walking to the door, when she stopped in front of the Alpha. "I have another appointment. Keep her hydrated and get her something to eat. Don't force her to eat though, but she needs to, so try and feed her. Don't move her unless it's to go to the bathroom. Understood, Alpha?" He looked her in the eyes and just nodded. She was hostile but he didn't scream or punish her. Maybe he's not as bad as I thought. She nodded in acknowledgement and she left, closing the door behind her.

"Would you like something to eat?" He asked me and I wanted to say no, but I was hungry so I nodded my head. He turned around to leave the room but I stopped him. "Wait, can I have some more water?" I asked him and he nodded and took my glass and left me alone wth my thoughts. See he is kind. Luce piped in my mind. I couldn't deny that he had respect for his pack members. He's just helping us because he feels bad about hurting us because we're his mate. No, your wrong. He does care about us. He has to. She's starting to get panicked, I have to calm her down. Luce, calm down. I'll start to trust him but he has to gain our trust. And your right, he must care about us if we're in his room and if he got a docter to help us. So calm down for me and I'll gain his trust to. We'll stay if that's what he wants.

She started to calm down and when she was fully calm, the door opened and tha Alpha stepped in with a full tray of food that smells amazing. He placed the tray on the bedside table. "Can you allow me, to help you sit upright?" He asked me and it sounded like he was hovering, like he was scared. It was adorable." Yes" I answered him in a shy voice and he looked surprized that I agreed. "I... I'll have to t..touch you to help you." Well duh. That's usually how it worked. "I know. And my answer is still, yes." I told him while fidling with the blanket corner laid on top of me. I think he's still surprized by your answer. I think so to, Luce. He didn't say anything but after a few seconds, he came over to the edge of the bed and lightly slid his arms beneath my back and lifted me. He accidently touched one of my wounds on my back and I groaned in pain. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to- I'm so sorry." He apologized and in seconds I was sitting upright with the tray of food on my lap and the Alpha at the far corner of the room. "I'm sorry" he apologized again. I didn't like the distance between us and that's saying something because I want all the distance between me and men. At all times. But with him, I want him close to me. I feel save with him close to me. Damn the mate bond. I barely know him. Then we get to know him. Ok fine Luce, you win again.

"It was an accident. Don't worry about it. I'm fine." I reassure him, but he didn't look convinced. So I looked into his eyes and couldn't help but gasp at the intensity of his eyes. I pulled myself together and tried again. "It was an accident" this time he looked convinced that time. Damn, I have a feeling he's very stubborn. So are we. Yes we are. Right again, Luce. I looked away from him and looked at the food and started eating.

When I finished with 3 qaurters left over, he came over and took the tray. "You barely ate anything." He exclaimed, disappointed. What did he expect. The amount of food he gave me was more than a weeks worth of food the rogues gave me. "In my defence, you gave me enough food that will last me a week from where I came from." He looked at me in horror when realization sunk in. I just shrugged and looked at him. He looked so scared at the fact of my little food for 11 years. It was a regular thing for me, but I guess not for him. He still had the horrified expression on his face when he turned on his heels and took the tray away.

When he came back he looked puzzled and not horrified. He walked to the edge of the bed and pointed to the bed, indicating that he wanted to sit down. So I nodded and he sat down. "We started off wrong and I want to fix it. If you'll give me a chance I'll make it up to you, please?" He sounded so sincere and I couldn't say no. I didn't want to say no.

"Ok, we can start over." And again he had the shocked expression on his face. Come on man, I'm not heartless.

"O..ok, let's play 10 questions" a game. Wow, ok I can work with that. I nodded at him and gestured with my hand for him to go first. "Ok, what's your name?" He asked gently, nothing like the first time he asked. I liked the way he asked me this time. Not like in the dungeon.

"My name is Lucy Smith. My wolf's name is Luce. What's yours?" He looked satisfied with my answer. "My name is Deric Black. And my wolf's name is Eric." He said it with pride and I understood why. Even the rogues are afraid of him and his pack. Ahh, I can't remember. "Is your pack's name, Blue Moon Pack?" I asked him, wanting to be sure. He seemed to hover on the answer and also be eager to answer. Finally he answered. "Yes, it is." He scanned my face to see my reaction but I just nodded.

"What did they do to you?" He asked. The one question I was afraid he'd ask. I didn't know what to say, but I knew I wanted to tell him. But not yet. "I'll tell you but I need time. I'm still trying to get over it myself. So can you give me some time to get used to being safe, protected. Can you give me that?" He didn't seem upset at my answer. He seemed satisfied. "I'll wait for as long as you need." He said with sincerity. He studied my face, I guess trying to see my reaction to his answer. But I just stared at him. He started to say something but then I yawned. "Get some rest. I'll come back to check on you later. Scream if you need anything.

He left me to sleep so I got comfortable and fell asleep, surrounded by my mate's scent.
