A WHOLE NEW WORLD

"You think I would have drove you this far if I wanted to kill you?" Abel snorted in disbelief. I stayed put on the car seat and even crossed my legs to emphasize the fact that I was going no where. Even if I followed him there was a high chance I would get lost in the huge plantation and there was nothing I feared more than rodents and reptiles. I was no country person even though I lived on the country side. I always stuck to the classy people, the ones without the rusty but rather cool accent even my maids weren't that 'countryish'. "Don't make me go out there. I am pretty sure it is snakes' territory."

"I assure you that there is nothing to worry about. It is completely safe. "He pulled his hands out for me to take but I pushed it aside and stood my ground. "No, if my body has to scrape those green leaves I am not going." I looked away and took a quick survey of the area. We were in the middle of no where definitely so how he even knew this place meant he either resides here or he came here very often but I chose to go with the latter. "What do they do here apart from plant maize?" I looked back at my ginger haired company who was already pushing his way in between the maize plants. He soon vanished into the plantation and panic filled me. "Aren't you going to lock your truck?" I pushed my way in between the leaves weary of the kind of reptiles that might show up. Words got stuck in my throat as a beautiful farm house came into view. The dark oak wood and the glass pavement screamed raw elegance. Abel wiped his feet against the side walk making that gritty sound of sandpaper scratching concrete. I winced deeply . Guess I wasn't the only one who felt irritated by the looks on a woman's face who mirrored my expression. Her gaze drifted from Abel to me her expression turning sour. I wriggled my toes in my shoes nervously trying to look elsewhere. "Cora, this is Louise. Louise. Cora." He made hand gestures and forced a smile trying to ease the built up tension. I mumbled a quick "Hi" hoping she would get off my neck as soon as possible but I was replied with a dismissive wave and a door slam. "Welcome!" He gestured toward the entrance.

When I thought the outside was unique, the interior was even more spectacular. Abel threw himself against a giant bean bag near the wall. I looked closely at the glass and discovered that something was off. "It is a high tech mirror system. The glass lets you see what we want you to see." Abel enlightened me with piece of information making my mouth open ajar. "Spilling secrets to a girl you have just met Sebastian. I thought you were trained better." The lady from before stood holding a cup with her and taking a sip after spilling bitter words. I knew I didn't fit here but damn she was so obvious about the whole hatred thing. I ignored the part where she called him Sebastian trying not to show any hint of surprise but a little heartbroken that he didn't trust me enough to tell me his real name. "The name is Louise. " I replied spitting out as much as sass as I was comfortable with. All that energy wasn't meant for her though, it was meant for the guy who hid behind a false name. "Ouuuuu! Who is this firecracker we have here?" A man appeared behind me patting his shabby blonde beards and looking between me and the girl. "Louise." I stretched my hands out of a handshake and he gladly shook it offering me a small smile. "Quebec." I chuckled at his name. "Named after my mom's dream place." He retracted his hands to adjust his glasses and looked over at Abel who was staring at me strangely. "What?" I questioned.

"Nothing." He countered defensively. "Why is she here?" Cora kept pushing making me to give her a full on glare. I am a spoilt brat and I might just show her in time so she doesn't get any surprises. "That's rude." I walked towards a cream couch, took my seat and crossed my legs. "That's rude Cora." Quebec agreed with me . The tension in the room was killing all because I entered a wrong truck. I arched my back a little taking a quick stretch from the short trip and I sighed. "As soon as this dude right here" I pointed to the newly known Sebastian. "can get me to safety without some mafia dude coming after my ass or my family, then I can leave this crib for you. I don't have time to waste here believe me or not. Quick question are you guys NBI, SSS or DSS?"

"None of the above." Sebastian pulled himself us and walked further into the house opening a door. "We are going to keep you safe and that's pretty much all that matters." Quebec followed after him and so did Cora. They all dissipated behind the door leaving me helpless and confused on the couch. "You coming?" Her black bob peeped behind the door and I sprang up from my seat and followed after.

"Everywhere is so dark" I stumbled into the room and held on to someone trying to catch my balance. Hard hand held me by my shoulder causing a little shiver. My brown eyes found his green ones just as the light came up and I shimmied my way out of his arms trying to avoid a close conversation. Some sort of lab it was I told myself. From what I saw they were definitely close to the FBI. If not it might just be some illegal stuffs going down here. "Welcome to our lair." Quebec dramatically slid across the floors with his gigantic boots earning a playful eye roll from Cora. "I am guessing this will be a lot to handle but we will help you get through this. You can trust us but the question is can we trust you?"

"That's it. I know you are after me, young lady." I brushed past Sebastian who held me back and prevented me from running else where. "We found some data on you and your relatives." I raised my eyes in suspicion at this new development. "Okay. What is it?" I asked ready to attack her and show her those red painted claws got nothing on my fury. "Your father had some links with the experiment on Sebastian." I stared at her in confusion. "What experiment? I literally just met him for Christ sake."

"OH!" She exclaimed softly and bit her lips moving far away from my view as possible. "We need to talk." He spoke softly behind me stealing my attention. "Wait a minute! You had already done a background check on me not even up to a week. Now you guys aren't the only one whose going to have trust issues around here. Maybe I will hang on to calling you Abel just to show how two-faced you are."

I expected a back lash but what I didn't expect were the few words spewed out. "You know what? Do you. Don't come running after us when your father find his way to jail and all of your high class money is gone. You think you are the only one we are after. There are plenty of your type wasting away their lives from parties to parties while their parents inflict the poor with unending trauma. Ever wondered why you never moved to a city?"

"My parents never liked the city you dimwit." I fired back with rage. "Here." He tossed his car keys into my wide open palms. "You are free to ride this to your destination. It is a gift. We aren't going to track you or try to contact you. As soon as you stepped out of that door we hope we are as dead to you as you are to us." He said coolly but there was so much angst written on the little lines across his face. I was ion denial and a big part of me hoped this guys were just con men and nothing more so I did what I knew how to do best.

I made a bad decision on the spot and walked out. The truck was still where he parked it looking all clean and prepped for a long ride. I had never really driven for a long time but I was willing to take the risk. This people scared me and I didn't like that one bit so I took the high road. I remember taking driving lessons from my rebel sister . "Just in case you find a reason to run away from home." She always said before starting the lesson. It didn't seem like I was running from home this time. More like running home.

I drove for a good ten minutes before I realized stupid me didn't have a map or some sort but that wasn't why I turned back. I turned back because I was scared. I wasn't used to this kind of danger . I went to country houses not country agency hideouts and whoever saw me in that camera must most definitely have black listed me. Most of all I am just twenty three. I am not trying to die young.I knocked furiously on the door till someone opened up. "You chose right." He opened the door wider allowing me to come through with my luggage that I had already taken. I looked around with an awkward smile that threw off the hint that I really didn't want to be there. "You will love us later. I swear." Quebec blurted and walked pass us right into that room that looked like spy stuff. "If we are going to do this, it has to be the right way. No one has really told me what is going on." I pointed out firstly.

"Kirovic Dimitri is the man after us. Long ago an experiment was made with silver that turned the other world upside down." Sebastian's smooth voice flowed like water and I grasped it with an open mind. "What is the other world?" I asked. "It is used to describe things and places out of the reach of people with an ordinary lifestyle like the black market, the mafia, the organizations that regard themselves higher than the government, moon market and the rest of them." He explained and continued his story. "The experiment was to create a higher breed than that of the humans. It was carried out on physically fit people because everyone believed they had higher chance of survival . At first they seemed like they had succeeded everyone was excited about this new found discovery till those men and women started dying off one by one their bodies decayed into poisonous earthy substances that alarmed the scientists. They advised the investors to quit but...........................
