Chapter Two

Christmas party. I sighed as I am looking at myself questioning why I am not pretty like my best friends, why do I have a lot of pimples. I'm not smart, I'm not pretty, what else? I am so ugly. I can't do anything to make me beautiful. I don't even know how to properly put make up. When will I glow up? I am already 17 and nothing is changing. My height is still the same when I was 14, my body is still the same, I am so petit and I don't like it. My insecurities are killing me. I don't want to go!

"Art, you ready?" Angel asked me, I looked at her and nod. This will be our last year; I want to spend time with these people who I treasure a lot.

"Yeah. Just a moment." I said putting lip tint in my lips as my final touch.

"Alright! We'll wait for you down stair." She said and left.

I once again looked at myself. There's nothing I can do, this is who I am and I need to embrace it even though I don't want to.

"Let's go?" They asked and I just nod following them outside my house. It's so hot! Ugh. They really chose a time so hot. Then when we get there they were still preparing. Don't get me wrong I do appreciate my school but to ask the students to go there when they were still preparing? Ugh.

"Should we go there directly? Or should we go somewhere first because I bet they were still preparing." Louise said fanning herself with her hands.

"Yeah. Let's go to our favorite café!" Angel said with a smile on her face. She's really bubbly; she can smile even though she's getting hot by the sun.

"Let's go then." I said then drive to the café. It was not far from my house so we got there immediately, surprisingly, there's no customer inside. It was always full and today it's just us.

"Should we call Vincent and friends?" Louise said, we looked at her and shrugged we honestly don't care if she invite them or not.

But then I remember my insecurities. Gosh here we go again! I bite my lips and looked down, sitting down at the corner where they can't seat beside me. Why now?

"They'll be here in a minute." Louise said smiling at us. We were always together so we really don't have anything to talk about and also I am not in the mood to talk. I'm having internal crisis on how I look! Gosh why I am born ugly?

"Should we order first?" I asked, because I would really need a drink now. I feel like my throat is dry.

"Oh yes let's order first." Angel said, nodding at me, I smiled at her and also nod.

"The usual for me." I said, like I said I'm not into trying new drinks.

"Why don't you try Chocolate Mint?" Louise said. I looked at her and think, should I? It is still chocolate though. Maybe I should.

"Okay then. I'll try it." I said smiling at her, then looking down because I am truly insecure of how I look.

"Wow that's a first." Angel said laughing

"New me, I guess." I said laughing with her, her laugh is contagious.

"Okay okay. What's yours Angel?" Louise asked

"I'll have what Art's order is." She said

"Why?" Louise asked confused, I don't even know why is she confused, oh never mind.

"Because we are besties!" She said bringing her hand beside her face waiting for a high five. I raised my hand to high five her and that makes her smile wider.

"You're so weird!" Louise said laughing then getting up going to the counter.

"I am not!" Angel said.

I chuckled at them and focused on my phone. Scrolling through social media, seeing my classmates' story on Instagram, they are already there but the set-up is not yet done. Ah we were right, they are not done yet. While looking at the social media I didn't notice that are other friends are already here.

"Hey art!" I looked up and saw Vincent.

"Hey. I didn't know you guys are here already." I said smiling at them. Oh gosh they are looking at me. I am ugly I know! Now stop looking at me please.

"Yeah you are so busy with your phone." Jess said, I smiled and said sorry to them.

"That's okay. I'll go order now." Nei said. I just nod and get my drink when Louise put them down.

"Are you guys sure about going in this party? Bet it is boring." Jess said

"We are going. Attendance is must and also we have additional points for our final exam." I said sipping my drink. I don't like the idea he's giving us. We will go and that won't change my mind.

"You shut down my unsaid idea. Damn." He said and I just sarcastically smiled at him.

"She doesn't like you and your dumbass idea, Jess." Angel said and I high five her for that.

"Wow that hurts." He said dramatically

"So dramatic." We all said in unison, we looked at each other and laugh.

We spent another hour inside the café, talking to each other, joking around and sharing story about a certain teacher in our school.

"Let's go." Nei said, getting up from his seat and we all did the same.

We waved at each other and said, "See you there."

Our school is also not that far from the café. It is so close that we can even walk from here but we don't walk because the weather is so hot. Like really two in the afternoon? What party starts at 2pm?!

When we got there, I parked in front of the building. Students were just signing up the line goes around the building. Oh wow I forgot that this school has a lot of students.

"Let's go to Sir Mar." Louise said.

We walked where Sir Mar is, "Sir!" Louise said waving at our teacher.

"Hey you guys are on time." He said smiling at us as we smiled back at him.

"We didn't sign up yet." Louise said. Oh I know now what her plan is. She will asked sir to let us in without signing in.

"You go inside; I'll handle that for you guys." He said ruffling Louise hair. We thanked her and went inside. Everyone was looking at us because we just passed by without signing in.

Well, that's the magic of a beautiful face. How I wish I'm also beautiful.

I feel like this day will be dramatic…
