The Corporation

The story now takes the reader back to 2008. When John was 16, he worked for a charitable organization that trained late teenagers to work in some capacity on construction sites or on individual properties. He earned £40 per week, the same as others on the training course. He visited the organizations buildings, just before embarking on the 18 week contract he had signed up to. On that particular day, he was with his CPN or 'Community Psychiatric Nurse', who was very supportive during the early years of John being listed on the 'SMI' or 'Serious Mental Illness' national database. John had a very positive experience of this place; however, during his prior visit to the offices of the organization, it was slightly marred by a very small instance involving one of the other workers. The course did have a lot to offer. This included obtaining a CSCS card, which allowed entry to any construction site based on an understanding of the health and safety at work act.
