Peeking in the Darkness

From beginning to end, the journey was quiet.

When the trio arrived at their destination. Bryan and Sophia were taken aback briefly when they gazed upon that giant door ahead of them. It wasn't the scale that shocked them. But what its unusual appearance stunned them.

The appearance of the enormous door depicted a plethora of human faces. Men, women, children, and the elderly were all plastered on the entrance.

They all showed all seven categories of emotions as a result. Some were happy, some were sad, some were angry, some were scared, some were contemptuous, and so on.

Yet, when Bryan took a look at it from afar, he senses a sinister vibe in it, as if those human faces are actual humans, rather than carvings carved in the giant door.

Knowing the chance of that happening is not completely unlikely, since they have already seen a lot of things, and any human-faced door may be feasible if they factor in these people's mysteriousness.

Bryan's face remained expressionless the whole time, with just a brief flash of surprise in his eyes. And Sophia's expression is solemn in the meantime. When they both looked at the enormous door in front of them.

Knowing that they had arrived, Mister Pyg came to a halt in front of the massive door, which was three times his own height. He seemed insignificant next to it since he didn't even make it to the center of it.

Mister Pyg stood before it like a tiny child. As the door appears in the darkness like a tall behemoth, and it's as if it were a portal leading to the pit of hell and laughing at their struggles.

All of a sudden, Mister Pyg waved his hand in front of him, and a few chairs emerged as though they had been teleported.

"Sit down and wait for my men to complete their games; don't do something you'll come to regret. I know you want to get out of here as soon as possible, but if you bother me by running after you, I swear you'll be crying for death when I'm done with you. However, no need to fret, your fellow humans will appear shortly; in the meantime, take a chair and ask me your questions while you wait." Mister Pyg spoke to the pair and motioned for them to take a seat.

Seeing that they were safe for the time being, Sophia relaxed but slightly hesitated to sit down.

However, when she saw Bryan sitting down on a chair beside her without hesitation, she followed suit and sat down as well.

Bryan, on the other hand, collected his thoughts as he turned to face Mister Pyg and said, uncertainly,

"Do you have any idea where my sister is? Mira Godfrey, I'd like to see where she is right now."

"Mira huh... do you have any descriptions of her?"

"What? Do we even need descriptions? Can't you just check on her right away with your system?"

"Humph, Brat, there are multiple Mira's in my territory; do you believe your surname is unique? Stop wasting my time and start explaining her."

Hearing that response, Bryan nodded his head and continued,

"She has an oval-shaped face that has baby fats on the sides, white skin, a slender body, silky black hair, and black eyes. She is just two years younger than me, so that would make her 18."

Mister Pyg responded by motioning his arm in front of him, prompting a blue screen to appear in his eyes. He looked around at the names in the area he controlled, and there were at least six individuals who were alike.

Mister Pyg willed the screen to appear in Bryan's vision as he said,

"Look around, if you manage to find you're sister then just tell me, and I'll look for her whereabouts."

Bryan nodded and examined the young ladies' appearances on the blue screen for any hint of his little sister. Nonetheless, his heart sank as he managed to look around and didn't see her.

"Is this really the only females with the same name and surname as my sister? Could you double-check it in case you missed a few?"

Instead of being angry, Mister Pyg responded,

"You're out of luck, Brat; after hearing what you said, your sister doesn't seem to be in my area; she must have been teleported to the others. I've already checked it as it is, are you perhaps doubting me?"

Bryan waited for his question to be answered, but he was disappointed when he heard his response.

Bryan stopped talking and shook his head in response to Mister Pyg.

He knew he wouldn't get another question answered, so he figured he'd wait until the others arrived and relax his body for as long as they appear, as his body felt heavy and exhausting.

Seeing that this rascal stopped talking, Mister Pyg turned to Sophia, motioning for her to pose her question.

Sophia, on the other hand, can be seen clutching her hands together in dismay and asking Mister Pyg in a trembling voice.

"What about my mum... Emily? Her name is Emily Lane; try to see if you can find her."

"Describe her for me..."

"She's a middle-aged woman with somewhat grey hair on the ends, a sickly appearance, and has frail, she has... she has..."

Sophia sobbed uncontrollably and couldn't finish what she was saying, but Mister Pyg cut her off just before she was about to say something more.

Mister Pyg scrolled down the blue screen once more, searching for the name Emily Lane.

Mister Pyg, on the other hand, does not seem to see her name on his blue screen. He then made the blue screen in front of him disappear and turned to Sophia, saying,

"Unfortunately for you, it seems that your Mother is not in my area; she could be dead in a ditch somewhere, or you are simply out of luck."

After hearing what Mister Pyg said to her, Sophia got ever more depressed because she loved her mum so much.

She looked after her and her younger brother after her father abandoned them when she was a child; they were neither poor nor rich, but she saw her mother working hard for her future and she wished to assist her as well.

Her mum, however, has recently become ill and she is worried about her well-being; she fears that her frail body is putting her in danger right now. As a result, she couldn't help but worry.

At the same time, Bryan was staring at Sophia's sobbing countenance, and thought,

"I need to get stronger, I'm too weak as of right now. Most significantly, I need to locate my family and determine whether or not they are alive."

Bryan resolutely committed himself and delved further into his emotions, as he eventually lost hearing in the outside world.

"If someone were to stand in my way, I'll kill them! If someone dares to go against me, I'll destroy them! Even though it's someone that I'd know, I'll show no mercy. If it is, however, not a bother, I'll do my best to help the unfortunates, but if they backstab me, I'll murder them in the most heinous way I can think of!"

Bryan clenched his teeth in rage as he gazed towards the darkness, oblivious to the fact that the surroundings beside him had transformed into a totally dark space.

"Even if the entire world hates me, then they shall burn. Even if I transform into a demon, as long as I hold my convictions unwaveringly, I'll gladly turn into a demon to get what I want!"

Bryan's vision seems to be shrouded in shadow, with a pair of eyes visible in it.

The pupils of the eyes seem to have vertical slits and are a dark red color, similar to blood.

The eyes are enormous as if they were looking down on all living things. Above the blood-colored eyes, seems to be a dark red halo.

Bryan glanced into the blood-red eyes, and the eyes returned his gaze.

In an instant, Bryan's eyes were suddenly filled with insanity, as it welled up with tears as hot blood gushed out from them.

Bryan can hear something crying out to him as if it wanted him to come closer.

"Bryan..."

"Bryan....."

"BRYAN!"

Instantly, the darkness vanished before him and the enormous blood-colored eyes faded into nothingness.

His vision became fuzzy as all he saw in it, was the entire world tinged in red.

"Bryan! Are you all right?"

Bryan gathered his fuzzy thoughts and turned to face the source of the sound.

Which he found out that it seems to be Sophia calling out to him.

After hearing what Sophia said, he felt a water-like substance on his face, so he wiped it off with his uniform.

Following that, he noticed blood-red liquid in it. The water he imagined in his mind as a result of his tears. Seems to be blood.

He instantly realized that he had been weeping in blood the entire time.

"What happened to you? Bryan?"

Sophia appeared to be concerned and a little frightened when she saw Bryan weeping in blood along with that maddening expression in his eyes.

And after looking into his eyes, she seems to have gone insane, with the urge to get away from Bryan was continuously echoing in her mind.

Hearing that question, Bryan stared at her with that bloodied face of his and replied.

"Nothing happened, I just resolved my inner concerns," Bryan responded, along with a savage look in his eyes, and a sense of indescribable feeling was emanating from his body.
