CHAPTER 6

"What do you mean they never found his body? Murder? What are you saying?" Bree was freaking out.

"Yeah, Bree! Did you not watch today's news? They rewrote the whole thing! The reporters said that your parents never made it to the plane. Your mother's body was brought to the crash location. This clearly means that your dad is most probably alive but your mother was murdered no doubt!" Yeon exclaimed.

"Are you saying that my dad is-" Bree started but couldn't finish?

"Alive? Yes! Pretty much." Yeon cut her words. "Hey, I don't mean to be rude and interfere with your family business but, I have a feeling that your dad might know what happened to your mom. Think about it, Bree! If he doesn't, why hasn't he returned to live with you guys rather than living alone in isolation? Isn't it kind of weird that even the police don't know about his whereabouts? Maybe he's too broken to be questioned?" Yeon tried to make the situation less tense.

"As if!? Bree let out. Yeon was staring at her blankly, confused with her reaction. "You don't understand, Yeon. My dad was never really around enough. Neither does he love us nor do we miss him. It was always that way. Why do you think the boys and I act as if nothing happened? The only reason we were miserable for few days is that we missed our mother. She was a literal angel. Wouldn't even hurt a fly, that woman. However, reality hit us at the very moment. She must have wanted us to live our lives normally. We know she's always in our hearts. She knew you, by the way. I kind of told her about you. She really wanted me to introduce you to her." Bree explained with tears rolling down her cheek.

"Come on, Bree!" Yeon said sweetly as he wiped off the tears from her cheek. "You have me now! You don't have to be sad anymore. It is getting quite late, though. Do you want me to spend the night?" he asked her with concern.

"Can I crash at your place? I don't want the boys to freak out. I'm sorry it's just that they haven't been around people much, especially boys. I'm really sorry." Bree said trying her best not to invite him over to her place. He couldn't possibly know about the boys being abducted.

"No, Bree! Don't be sorry! I completely understand. I should have thought of that. We'll just crash at my place, is that alright?" Yeon agreed leaving Bree in relief.

Bree nodded in response. She was worried that she might get a call from Mr. K and Yeon might get suspicious. If anyone ought to know the boys were kidnapped, that's the last day to live for the boys.

*At Yeon's place*

"I'm sorry. I haven't really had the time to clean my room. It isn't as big as your parents' place but it's home. I hope you like it!" Yeon let out while scratching the back of his head.

"I love it! It's a very lovely home. You might not know this but we don't live at our parents' place. That house has been empty ever since the incident. I actually prefer places like this. Less space to clean, am I right?" Bree said laughing a little.

"That's the best part! I don't have to worry about hiring a maid, babe." Yeon rested his head on Bree's shoulder while back hugging her. "You know what? I just had the craziest idea! Why don't I come to stay at your place during the weekends? Or maybe on weekdays?" he said facing her, in a serious tone.

"The kids, Yeon. I can stay here with you if you want me to. I have a babysitter that looks after them. So, do you want me to pack my stuff and maybe crash here with you? For now, of course. I don't want to burden your parents." Bree said hoping he'd agree with her.

"Right! The kids! Sure! Why don't we head to your place right now?" he sounded pretty excited.

Bree packed all of her stuff from her place, making sure to leave nothing important behind. She didn't want to make more than one visit for the time being. Yeon helped her get her bags into the car. Before leaving, she made sure to cut all the phone lines and unplug all the electrical devices at home. She didn't want anyone reporting an unexpected fire incident when she was away.

*At Yeon's place-again*

Bree and Yeon were watching a movie when Bree received an unanticipated call from the devil himself. She excused herself from Yeon and went to attend the call at the balcony outside Yeon's room.

"Hello?" Bree whispered.

"I see someone is getting quite settled in. Planning something against me, are we? Don't forget your brothers are still here with me!" he yelled.

"I'm not plotting against you! You see, I genuinely like him. Still, I'll get you the information you need. No doubt about that. Just don't harm the kids, please!" Bree sounded desperate.

"I don't care if you like him! Just get me what I want! Or else!" he yelled before hanging up.

Bree tried to hold in her tears but she was too weak at the moment to do that. Waterfalls blurred her eyes. She was staring at the stars when Yeon noticed that something was wrong. He sneaked behind her trying not to startle her. He lifted her face gently to face his. His heart ached at the sight of her tears. He hugged her and tried to comfort her without pressuring her to tell him what was on her mind.

"I'm not going to ask you what's on your mind right now. When you feel like telling me, I'm always here to listen." He said while looking into her eyes.

"I really want to let it all out but-" he cut her off by shushing her.
