CHAPTER 7

Bree looked at Yeon with her tears still running down her cheek, eyes swollen from crying. She trusted him so much even though she had only been with him for a few hours. She could just tell his sincerity through his eyes. She knew it was right to tell him.

"You see Yeon, what I wanted to tell you is that-" she could not possibly finish. She started crying a waterfall again. Somehow she gathered the courage to speak up quickly.

"You see Yeon, the boys were kidnapped. The kidnapper said that if I reach out to the authorities, I'd never see the boys ever again. All this while I've been trying to please the dude so that he won't lay a finger on my boys. I may not be their birth mother but I raised them since they were brought into this world. So, I am their mother!" Bree let out in frustration.

"Why didn't you tell me this sooner? I mean you did have a huge crush on me, didn't you?" Yeon smirked.

"You knew?! How? Was it that obvious?" Bree flushed red.

"Let's just say we both had a thing for each other but too afraid to confess." Yeon chuckled, pulling Bree in for a hug. "Anyway, what do we know about this dude? Is he like old old or just plain old?" Yeon was back on track.

"All I know is he's definitely 30 something. However, something just doesn't sit right about him. He's weird!" she rested her chin on his left shoulder. "I've never met a kidnapper who takes the hostages out for ice cream. The boys were allowed to talk to me often as well. Something about that doesn't sit right, babe. What kind of kidnapper keeps their hostages comfy? His voice was a little familiar to me but I can't seem to make out who's it is!" she sighed.

"Bree! I just thought of something! Why don't we try to run a background check on this guy? Secretly of course. Think about it. The more he orders you around, the more clues we get to track him down. He might be a criminal but he most probably skipped his S.T.E.M classes. He doesn't seem to remember that all calls more than 2 minutes can be traced back to it's source. This is going to be as easy as pie!" Yeon said in excitement.

"Hold your horses, babe! First of all, I've never heard anyone say that phrase and I admit you're weird but I like it. Secondly, he hasn't once talked to me more than 30 seconds on a call. He knows how to play. I'll just have to teach him a new game." Bree smirked as she placed her hands on the balcony top rail like how they do it in movies for the villain's sinister plan reveal.

"Just remember no matter what you do, I'm always going to be here for you and support you all the way." Yeon smiled facing her back. He had always admired her determination.

Bree turned around to face him. She was smiling at how cute he was in that hoodie and pajama pants. She had never imagined she would find someone who actually loves her enough to go through all her problems with her. Bree never was one to burden people with her problems but she is also a person who always finds a solution. Bree decided to play along with the kidnapper's games while secretly digging about his past. Surely someone must have known him.

*The next morning*

Yeon woke up to the sweet sound of the piano. He thought he had gone insane as he never owned a piano. Not later he realised that the soft music was coming from the shower. It was Bree. She never takes a shower without music. Her mother used to play music while giving her a bath ever since she was born. She never seemed to grow up. That's what attracts people towards her. She's the definition of childish. Shy around people but when she gets comfy around you, you'll see a whole new side of her. She can be unexpectedly crazy. Yeon smiled and went to shower in his parents room.

After the both of them got dressed, they packed their things to stay at Bree's place. Bree insisted as she didn't want to risk Yeon's parents knowing anything and she didn't want to be a burden either. The couple settled down at her place and ordered pizza for brunch, just to keep things simple. Though she didn't go to the studio, Bree still got paid. It is her best friend's studio after all.

"So Bree, where to next?" Yeon said while clearing up the empty pizza boxes. "Has he given you any 'assignments' yet?"

"Not really. The last assignment he gave me was to-" she stopped herself before saying it because she knew it would crush Yeon if he knew that she only went out with him for a task. "-was to dig about this guy who escaped prison last month. Nothing much really." she nervously stroked the back of her head.

"You mean that Simash Schwaz guy? What beef does this kidnapper have with a serial killer like Schwaz?" Yeon was growing curiosity.

"I'm not sure yet but I'll make sure to get to the bottom of it" Bree sighed.

"Whatever it is promise me you'll let me know your moves and you'll be safe, please?" Yeon looked at her with worry written all over his face.

"I promise!" she laughed.

*At their class*

"Alright, today you'll be working in pairs for the anatomy presentation. I want you guys to pick your partners by yourselves and work on the assignment together and present it together. No more one does it and one presents. We're way beyond that. Understood?" the lecturer glared over to Yeon who was side-eyeing Bree from the front row.

"Yes, ma'am!" the whole class said in a chorus, including Yeon who smirked at the lecturer.
