CHAPTER 13

*next morning*

Morning. The day dawned crisp and clear. The sun poured through the window, waking Bree up. Another day had dawned, bringing with it new hopes and aspirations. The rising sun cast a rosy hue across the morning sky. Golden fingers of sunlight lit up the scene. Bree woke up earlier than Yeon as it has been every morning, the sky was bright and the birds were chirping and enjoying the cool breeze. The dew drops were falling from the leaves of the plants. Tiny specks of dust seemed to dance in the shaft of afternoon sunlight that slanted through the window. Bree got up from the bed carefully, trying not to wake Yeon up, and walked over to the window for a nice morning view. The roads shimmered in the heat of the midday sun. The sunlit skyscrapers pierced the hot, blue sky. What a wonderful view indeed! She enjoyed looking out the window before a morning shower. It sort of gives her the motivation to have her personal concert in the shower.

Just about time Bree was finished with her half an hour shower concert, Yeon was sitting on the bed with a quite questionable expression. Bree was confused at looking at his face that seemed to have the word "guilty" written across his forehead. She didn't think much of it and walked past him to the other room to get her formal clothes. She had some business to do at the library that day. As she walked back into the bedroom, she saw Yeon still at the same position. It was almost as if he didn't budge.

"Is something wrong, babe? " she questioned out of curiosity.

"Is there something you want to let me know, Bree? " he blurted out with a look on his face that says 'you lied' for some reason.

"What are you talking about? What didn't I tell you? " she was confused. Millions of thoughts running through her head. Thoughts that he might have found out about what she had done to the men that she had to kill or maybe he found out that he was part of the task.

"When are you going to tell me that you're in a relationship with that cop guy, huh? Did you think I'd never find out? How could you, Bree? After all this time we spent together! Was I a joke to you?" he screamed in anger. Bree was so clueless.

"Which cop guy and what are you talking about? " she raised her voice a little as she didn't know how to react to his statement.

"I saw what happened between you and that cop guy outside the house last night, Bree. I didn't actually think you'd go for someone who's way older! " he sighed. Bree laughed out hysterically at his accusation.

"Did you actually think that I like him? Wow, babe! Is that all you know about me? " she continued laughing. He looked at her awfully confused.

"The neighbour was arrested last night. So, I just had to step outside and see it for myself. The scene I mean. I was asking the cop about the case but he just sort of threw himself onto me but I rejected him! " she said right before continuing her laugh.

"Well I think it's time someone taught the cop a lesson. A valuable one on that matter. And you! You need something to let people know you're mine! " he said walking up close to her. Bree slightly pushed the edge of his shoulder indicating that she doesn't want him to close in.

"And you, my darling, desperately need a shower! Go get a nice shower and I'll make us breakfast! " she said while walking out of the room.

"I don't want to take a shower!" he said while pouting making Bree walk back in to the room.

"Don't tell me you're gonna sit there without a shower for a whole day? You're going to stink up my vanilla household!" she said in a furious tone.

"Fine! I'll take that shower if you promise to go out with me tonight. I have something special planned for you, my love" he said while giving Bree a sinister laugh before locking himself in the bathroom. "Don't say no!" he yelled from inside.

Bree rolled her eyes and walked downstairs to get breakfast ready. As she was layering the bacon onto the freshly toasted bread, she noticed the calendar marking. The date had her stunned. She had realised how much time had passed by that she forgot her best friend's birthday. It was 27th October. She'll never forget his birthday as that's the day they first met. The most elite friendship as what her teachers and schoolmates describe it. She had a little flashback vision of the same thing only 11 years ago.

*time skip*

It was the summer of 2009. Summer camp was the best place to spend summer break. However, Bree's parents never allowed her to join the summer camp. It was too dangerous and not safe for a young girl they said. She'd usually stare out the window to see the empty streets with cars passing by. One day, Bree decided to have a closer look at the empty streets so she went outside and sat down on the steps of her porch. She was amazed by the number of cars that were driving past. So amazed that she grew an interest in cars. She learned the names and models of every single one. Continuously for about 2 weeks, Bree would just sit there on the stairs of the porch and admiring the cars one by one.

On the last week of summer, she noticed a new car pull up in their driveway. A quite unusual model. It was stunning yet she didn't know what model it was nor could she identify the brand. She went closer to get a better look. Her jaw dropped when she realised that it was a Lamborghini. It has a unique shape to it. 'Must be a new one' she thought to herself. As she was about to inspect the logo, a tall man came out of the driver seat. Accompanied by a woman, whom Bree assumed was his wife, and a boy behind them.
