CHAPTER 16

What they had wasn't a very long relationship. Yet, they both we're so fond of each other, Bree and Yeon. They had great chemistry going on. Their concern for each other's safety leads to the solid relationship they have now. Neither Bree nor Yeon could stand the absence of the other. Yeon is known to be the possessive romantic while Bree is more to the tsundere lover. A tsundere is someone who switches from being tough and cold into being soft and sweet towards a love interest. Bree is harsh and difficult to please.

With that being said, you could already tell that not many people approach Bree with sweet interests. Even if they did, they back off immediately after the death glare that she gives when her name is being called. She's sweet, yes. However, she could be the total opposite at some point. Not many people can handle her different sides. Yeon is one of some people that could handle her. There's so much difference between them but it never was an obstacle blocking their love. They're weird opposites that attract like different poles of a magnet.

After the short but sweet reassuring that she gave Yeon, Bree insisted to visit the Hongdae river amusement park. Yeon wasn't too fond of that plan. He tried to divert her attention so that she would change the topic. He felt that there was something wrong with the intel. How could someone who kidnaps kids and make the family bring in intel for him be hiding in an open place? What if he had the place set up like a trap to lure in people to later use them for either theft or something worse? To him, it just didn't seem to add up.

"How about we wait a little longer and dig a little deeper before cuffing this dude, sweetie? I mean, he could've set all of this up to trick us. Besides, weren't you about to go somewhere today?" Yeon let out, desperately trying to divert her attention elsewhere.

"You're right. Maybe I should dig deeper. That way, I'd have more evidence to nail him to put him behind bars! I do have plans today. Oh my god! I haven't decided what to wear or buy yet! I got to-" she paused. How did he know about her plans? "How do you know that I have plans today?" she gave him a curious glare.

"Well, you aren't the person who has silent thoughts. You were thinking out loud, probably. I heard you from the bedroom. Constantly repeating ways to wish someone a happy birthday!" he started laughing all of a sudden.

"Well, no shit, Sherlock! I thought it was in my head! How was I supposed to know I was having speakers connected to my brain?" she joined Yeon, who was already begging for mercy from laughing so hard.

"So, who's turning old?" Yeon questioned, after finally managing to catch his breath.

"Just a friend. We used to be close but one day he decided to trust his few weeks-old relationship over his best friend. Ever since then, we haven't spoken to each other but I thought it would be a great idea to patch things up on his birthday. He was a total jerk if you ask me! On the other hand, he was like my personal bodyguard. What hurt me is the fact that he didn't even bother to ask my side of the story. How could someone like that be so dumb to trust a girl he met about a fortnight ago?" she walked over to the dresser to grab a hairbrush.

"I mean boys are like that sometimes. We trust our partners too much to the extent where we forget all the advice our friends give us. Prolly (teen slang of probably) because we want them to trust us as much as we trust them. It isn't wrong, Bree. What he messed up about is when he didn't ask your side of the story. That's messed up!" Yeon furiously let out.

"I know, right?" she asked while brushing Yeon's semi-wet hair. "The least he could have done is to ask me how I'm doing after the incident but no! He decided to lay low. FOR NO PARTICULAR REASON!" she yelled out.

"CALM DOWN, WOMAN! My ears can only hear about 20-20,000Hz of sound! Don't rip my eardrums, please. Now, what about you get changed now and I'll drive you to his place, not before stopping for gifts, and we can finally get the clarity that you need. How does that sound?"

"I like the sound of that! But that's what I was thinking about. I can't decide what to wear. It's prolly going to be a reunion of some sort and I don't want to go there looking like a mom! Besides, that so-called perfect little brat whom he refers to as his girlfriend is going to be there. At least I think so. Which is why I need to be there looking like a 10/10 chic so that she knows her place!" she said while brushing on his hair too hard.

"HEY! Don't you dare use your anger on my hair! I spent a lot of time trying to keep it perfect!" he yelled as he stood up from the corner of the bed, which was where he was seated. He grabbed the brush out of her hands and looked at her dead in the eye. "Or else!"

"Or what? What are you going to do, huh?" she stared back at him.

"You really want to know?" he smirked at her while closing in. "I don't think you can handle it, little one."

"Try me, big shot!" was all she could say before Yeon pulled her towards the wall and pushed her against it and locking her sides, leaving no room for escape and certainly no room for physical distance.

"Say that again! It felt good" he said as he leaned in. At this point, his upper body was bent to her height.
