CHAPTER 15

Bree was just standing there, all blank, not knowing what to do. She wanted to give him a call or just send him a text. She just didn't know how to break the ice. It was just a lot to take in that her precious little Qiffy, not exactly little as he's much taller than Bree, would believe his not-so-trustworthy partner over his best friend. But Bree was never the one to hold grudges. So, she decided to text him despite the awkward pause they had in their friendship in which she doesn't even know how he has been holding up. Yes, she does stalk him on his socials once in a while to keep up but she never saw how he was genuinely feeling, his mental health, or just health in general.

Somehow, Bree gathered the courage to send him a simple text. Just to let him know that she still remembers him. She didn't quite know what to say. She was having so many thoughts on how to wish him in a simple yet loving way. She was thinking out loud while having a meeting with herself.

"What would I say? Should I be like 'hey sup! Happy birthday!' or maybe I should go with "hey, look! It's the person who turned a year older today!' or maybe…Arghhhhhh no! this is stupid level 9 on a scale of 10! Think Bree, think!" she was winging out to herself when it struck her.

She had just remembered where he recently moved in. Now that shows how much she had stalked him. Talk about privacy and personal space, pfft what a joke. Well, different people have different ways of showing how much they care, even if it meant invading their privacy and stalking them like a sly boot. She finalized her self-meeting with a statement that she will head out to his place later that night to wish him and check up on him. Predictable yet sweet. Same old Bree.

Being in a tense atmosphere, Bree went to the cellar, the former storage room which she turned into a cellar, to grab something to drink. She was strolling through the enormous cellar like it was a department store. She grabbed the bottle of red wine by her left and went back upstairs to the kitchen. As she was sitting on top of the kitchen counter, sipping her wine and wiggling her legs that were too short to reach the ground, she heard her ringtone. It was from Tony.

"Buenos días bella dama! Cómo estás hoy?" said Tony in a very flirtatious tone. It was so obvious that he liked her. It's just that not many people know she's with Yeon.

"Buenos días guapo! Estoy muy bien hoy y que hay de ti! So, what do I owe this pleasure of such a good-looking guy calling me this early in the morning?" she said, playing along. What she didn't realize was that Yeon was eavesdropping on that conversation as Bree had tony on speaker.

"Well, I sort of promised this Lil girly that I would get her intel on someone who misused her details to do some illegal business. Since I'm a person that keeps my promises, I wanted to tell her that he lives near the Hongdae river. There's an old abandoned museum there and guess who trespassed? The same person who purchased the anesthetics and had them delivered there. To be honest I didn't think he'd be that careless to not change the delivery address. Just to be sure, I ran a background check on all the deliveries made under your name, and yes, mostly child things delivered to the same address. I mean not exactly child stuff but things that kids nowadays like 10-year-olds to 16-year-olds enjoy. You don't think he's like those dudes in the movies that kidnap kids and eat them, do you?" he asked her, shakily.

"I'm impressed, senor Tony! Thank you so much like it means a lot that you got this much info on this guy. And I think he isn't a cannibal, don't worry. I'll handle him after this. He's so dead!" Bree exclaimed out in anger.

"Woah, a feisty one! Spicy! I'm loving it, not going to lie. Anyway, I'm happy to help out, Bree. So, yeah see you around on campus. I got to scoot. Bye, for now, mi amor!" he said in a hurried voice.

"Alright. Bye!" she ended the call with a sigh of relief that it was over. She was glad to get the intel on one hand but she felt annoyed to be flirting with him on the other.

Just about then, Yeon hurried to the bedroom without making a sound to confront Bree there. His jealousy could be seen through his flushed face. It was as red as a ripe tomato. He was waiting for her at their bedroom door. As Bree walked up to the room, she stood there completely stunned. There he was, Yeon, leaning against the doorframe still wearing nothing more than his robes. His hair was still wet from the shower. She assumed he just got out.

"Well, well! What do we have here? I smell a flirt. Should've seen it coming, I guess. All Libras are great at it!" Yeon was burning with jealousy.

"And I smell something burning. Oh, wait! I know! You're jealous, aren't you? Why, is it because Tony is much better at flirting and I react to it differently from how I react to you? Or is it because his Spanish accent is to die for?" Bree smirked as she got closer to him "You want to know what I think? I think you're afraid that I might be falling for senor Tony or maybe that cop" she was poking his shoulder playfully with a deadly serious tone.

"It isn't my fault! You're just…you know…you're just the perfect person I've met and I'm afraid that I might lose you! That's all." He became all silent and went ahead to sit on the corner of the bed. "I just don't want to lose you!"

Bree could tell he was broken into pieces at that moment. His words cut through her like glass. She couldn't bear to see him like that. She went in for a bear hug from the back and rested her chin on his shoulder and said "You won't! you're stuck with me now. There ain't no leaving!" she said as they both laughed so hard that if there weren't walls, the neighbours could've heard them crystal clear.
