"Hello daughter." He hovered over me, his eyes staring down into my soul. I took a small step back.
"What are you doing here?" I discretely take my phone out of my pocket and start recording to get the conversation.
"I wanted to visit my daughter, you're ill right now correct?" He tried stepping into the apartment but the barrier prevented him from doing do. He nodded out of approval.
"You did the spell I taught you. Fine, how are you my dear?" He leaned back into the nearby wall.
"Father, really?" I stared at him. He crossed his arms across his broad chest.
"Fine. I've been doing just fine. How about you my loving father?" I mocked his tone before rolling my eyes at him.
"I would be doing better if you were home. But I'm glad you're fine. You know, your mother has been moping around lately. It's been a while since you were with us and we miss you." He informed me.
"Father, I've changed for the better. I'm not going back. Is there any other reason why you're here? If not, you can leave." I snapped at him. Behind him, I saw Peter walk up the stairs. I look at him in shock and he realizes that my father is here.
"I'm not asking you to come back. You are coming back, whether you like it or not. I'm not leaving without you." He sounded more annoyed, stepping closer to the door. The barrier stopped him but I can tell he's trying to break through it somehow.
"Father, you're leaving without me. You came here to threaten me? Isn't your little armies enough?" I scolded him. I realized Peter wasn't there anymore so I sighed in relief. My father just stood there, staring at me. I can tell he was coming up with a plan on the spot, but I couldn't tell what it was.
I felt the barrier slowly go down, draining some of my leftover magic along with it. I watched as my father stepped into my apartment. I stumbled backwards, trying to get space between us.
"This is not fair." I exclaimed. He started walking closer to me. I couldn't think of what to do, so I jumped out the window while calling for Onyx. Once I'm in the air I feel someone hold onto me. I open my eyes and see that Peter caught me. His white wings were out, and he flew away.
"Peter. You saw him too, right?" I asked him, holding onto dear life. He nodded at me before flying towards Beth's house.
I look down and see Onyx following us. "Beth." As soon as I commanded him, he ran as fast as he can. I felt myself getting drowsy but I couldn't stop. I noticed the sky was getting dark, he's mad. I took out my phone and stopped recording. As soon as I stopped it, I called Aunt Beth.
"Please, put an invisible spell on me, Onyx and Peter. Beth, he's chasing us." I tremulously begged her.
"Come to the house. By the time you arrive, you'll have a spell on you." I heard her on the other line. I hung up. As we flew by others, they all stared amazingly at him. A few minutes pass and we arrive at her house. She runs out with James.
I slowly get off, trying to catch myself. Peter catches himself, putting his wings back.
"You are never staying by yourself when you're sick. Peter, thank you so much." She grabbed onto my side and we walked into the house. She sat me down on the couch.
"Your father, is in his town. You just ran away from nothing. Olive, you need to listen to me and stop being alone." She revealed to me. I stared at her in disbelief, I can swear he was there. Peter was there, he saw him. Right?
"Beth, he was there. I knew something was up so I waited outside for her." Peter budged in.
"Look, I also have a recording." I took out my phone and played the video. As soon as the video started, my fathers voice was on the other line. I looked back at James who had just woken up from a nap.
"He actually showed up. Okay, you can't go back to your apartment for now. I can go now to get Beatrix for now. The invisibility works for a few hours so you have time. I'll be back." Aunt Beth quickly left, leaving me, Peter and James. I picked up one of the pictures that were on the table. It was a portrait of me as a child. If only life wasn't as bad as it is.
"You know, you're pretty strong. Physically and mentally, the stuff you dealt with and continue to. It's hard, but you'll get through it kid." James sat on the other side of the couch. I smiled at his words. James meant a lot to me, just as much as the others mean to me. He's just as strong, knowing what's going to happen to everyone and knowing he can't change it.
"I have one question James." I asked.
"What is it?"
"Is there a happy ending for us?" I felt my eyes watering up.
"You know I can't answer that." He answered toneless. I sighed, wanting the answers. My phone started ringing and I saw that it was Clovis.
"Hey, did he really show up? I'm on my way to your Aunt's house. Stay put." I heard her determined on the line. I couldn't do much about it so I just said okay and hung up.
"Clovis?" James asked. I nodded. I just had to find out where to stay for the next few days... A few minutes pass and we hear someone knocking at the door. James gets up and checks the peephole. He opened it for them.
"Are you okay?" Clovis ran over to me. They both surrounded me, giving me no space. James pulled them back a bit and gave them a look.
"Yeah, I'll be fine. I need to find a better place to stay for now." I was thinking of staying here with my Aunt but that would put her in even more danger. I came to conclusion that I have to go to my apartment, fix the window and place a stronger spell. It'll be difficult but my only shot.
"Olivine." I look back to Aunt Beth. She held Beatrix in her arms. I reached out for Beatrix as Beth handed her to me. I cuddled the cat for a bit before I put her down next to me. We all sat in the living room. Clovis sat next to me, hugging me from the side. James and Beth were having a private conversation across the room and Peter sat next to me.
"I forgot. Grey was supposed to come over." I slowly got up before Clovis stopped me.
"He wasn't there. Text him." Aunt Beth revealed. I took out my phone and texted him, telling him that I was at Aunt Beth's house. He immediately replied saying he's coming over with Niven. I didn't believe it until there was another knock on the door a few minutes later.
Beth knew that it was them so she opened the door from a distance. They both slowly walked in, holding bags of goods and some teas.
"You guys haven't met Clovis and Peter. This is Grey and Niven." I introduced the others.
"Is this Peter? It's nice meeting you. Clovis, you have such a nice name. I'm Niven. " Niven immediately walked over to the others and gave them a hug. Grey stayed by the door.
"Yes, you must be Niven? It's nice finally meeting you. Oh, Grey. Hello." Peter walked over to him and tried giving Grey a handshake but he wouldn't budge. I glared at Grey, he finally gave him his hand.
"Hey Peter." Grey dully greeted him. "Hi Clovis, it's nice to meet you. I was on my way to your apartment once I got the text message that you were here Vio." His mood immediately changed as he walked away from Peter.
"Now that you guys met, I think it's best if you guys leave. I don't want to waste your time." I told Clovis and Peter.
"You never waste my time. I'll be visiting soon though. So keep an eye out." Clovis gave me a hug goodbye before leaving.
"Hey, I rarely visit. Can't I stay longer?" Peter budged in.
"Yeah, keep it like that. You can leave now, like she said." Grey scowled Peter. Peter gave him a confused look before returning the energy.
"No one was talking to you. Shut it. Plus, I'm the one who just saved her, not you." Grey got up and walked towards Peter. James stood in-between the two boys.
"Wow you help her once and think you're some sort of hero. That's human decency. It was so much better here when you weren't even in the town. Do us all a favor and leave." Grey scowled. Everyone in the room stayed silent as the two boys argued.
"This is where you leave. Both of you please grow up. I'll text you later Peter." I pointed at the door. Niven grabbed Grey's forearm. Peter sighed and left the house. He didn't have any sorcerer powers but he had wings. Grey and Niven both stayed, trying to get answers on what happened earlier.
"So your dad visited?" Niven asked. James and Beth left the room by now, leaving us three to talk.
"Yes, he got into my apartment. I jumped out the window because of Onyx, but Peter showed up to visit me and just saved me. I don't think he followed me here which is good but it's still shocking. I have four more days until it goes away." I think back to the conversation we had, the determination he had was insane. If it were my mother, I'd be there right now. He let me off the hook for some reason. They both had the same intentions but my father was less aggressive towards me. I'm hoping when the time comes, he gets to his senses.
"As long as you're safe. Where are you staying for the rest of the time?" Grey played with the bracelet on my right wrist. I didn't mind.
"I'll go back to my apartment. I just need my Aunt to help me place another stronger barrier spell on it. You guys should head out soon. Thank you for checking up on me, but I think it's best if you leave." I told the others.
"That's not happening. They'll be coming over everyday. I'll stay with you during school and when they end they can come to you. You guys don't mind, right?" Aunt Beth walked into the room.
"I don't mind." Grey smiled at her.
I spent the next 4 days, sleeping or eating quick meals. Aunt Beth would bring me prepped meals and kept me company. Once school ended, the others would come over and spend some time with me. Sometimes, Niven wouldn't be able to come so it was just me and Grey. Miss Davis visited and dropped off some of her famous lasagna so that helped a lot. There hasn't been any sightings of my parents or creatures in the neighborhood recently so that's a good sign. Knowing her, she might be plotting for something. No one knows when though.
I decided to go back on Monday since I'll be back to normal and it won't be so off feeling. I just had to deal with Aria and possible threats. Worst case scenario is I run away. Mother can't threaten me if she doesn't know where I am, now can she?
It's Sunday morning right now, I'm able to use some magic now but not entirely. I'm just hoping tomorrow I'll be fine for sorcerers class and no one starts anything.
