Going Deeper

~~~(POV: Nathen Opal)~~~
~~~(Location: The Jedi Temple, Coruscant)~~~

The boulder that Satele has brought me here to help her move feels off. It's connected to The Force. The Dark Side. I'm betting it was left here by the Sith so no one could go any deeper. I'm also sensing trouble on the other side of the boulder.

Eassa walks up to the boulder and places her hand on it. Wincing slightly, she senses what's going on with the large rock. I don't know what this is, and I've never heard of something like this in the Star Wars Universe.

"Why would the Sith leave behind such a strange object? Whatever is on the otherside, it's powerful."

Perhaps whatever is on the otherside is what actually caused the boulder to change. There have been times when people or events that are traumatic have left behind impressions in The Force. This seems to be a situation similar to that.

"It's been here since the Sacking of Coruscant. Many Jedi and Masters have come here trying to lift the boulder. But it's too heavy for any of us. The Force weighs it down more no matter how strong or how many of us try at once to move it."

So she's called in the one person that's known to be able to tear ships from orbit and crack planets with The Force. Satele has put a lot of faith in my power recently. It's nice to see some changes there. For a long time, she'd try to get me to tame my power.

But there is nothing to tame. The power is me, and I'm the power. The Force is men, and I'm The Force. All I need do is will it to happen, and it will.

"You guys might want to take a step back."

Nella takes the initiative to stand behind me as a shield. She's come to understand that I only give out warnings when they're really needed. I stretch out my hand and grip the boulder. I lift it off the ground easily and toss it aside.

Opening up the passageway that was blocked. But as I do, a terrible odor fills the section of the library we're in.

It's clear that the smell is that of rotting corpses. I don't know how they're still rotting here, given the time that's passed. But I do know that it's something to do with what the Sith have done.

"That's the worst smell I've ever been subjected to!!"

Poor Nella is behind me doing her best not to vomit. It's a smell she'll become familiar with when she gains more experience. The rotting corpses of her enemies will grace her nostrils one day, whether anyone likes it or not.

"The Sith have cursed this place... Using the dead Jedi as a sacrifice. Whatever is deeper in, you can be sure it'll be powerful."

Satele knows more about this than I would. Sith have a strange way about the way they use The Force. This is an example of how that strangeness manifests.

We start making our way down the passageway. Using our lightsabers to light the path. Sadly, Nella isn't able to stop gagging every few seconds from the smell. There is something I could do to help her, but this is a good experience for her.

Eventually, we enter a chamber dried in old blood. The bookshelves are ruined, and the chamber has been without power for a long time.

"What part of the library was this?"

My question is directed at both Eassa and Satele. They share a look themselves, and I can see they're worried about something. They shouldn't be, not when I'm here. But it's not worry about danger, but only repercussions to what this place is.

I continue to stare at them, and they eventually relent.

"This place is where younglings and initiates would go to study... They didn't have access to the greater library..."

Oh...

That explains the younger and smaller bodies... Most are unrecognizable due to decomposition. It's a sad sight indeed.

"GRAAAAH..."

There is a thick and sickening moan coming from the other side of the room. There it's darkest. Whatever the Sith did to this place, it's left an incredibly deep scar.

And it's created a monstrosity.

One that would haunt the nightmares of anyone that looked upon it. It's moments like these where I wish Nella wasn't here. For she must now see this...

Abomination.
