~~~(Location: Hyperspace, Entering Dagobah System)~~~
The blue color of Hyperspace comes to an end, and we're spat out near a green planet. Nella looks out the window for a closer look, and I focus on scanning the planet for a landing spot. It's an old world and one that's not on any maps yet.
From the little I remember, it was first discovered during the High Republic Era. This is The Old Republic Era. My attention is taken by the blinking light coming from the console.
"Mayday! Mayday! This is the transport ship Dawnrider! Our Hyperdrive malfunctioned, and we're stuck on this unknown world!!"
Nella turns her attention to the console too. Using The Force to navigate Hyperspace is a common practice. That's how I got us here, but I don't know how these people got here. Hyperdrive Malfunctions usually end in death.
"Mayday! Mayday! This is the transport ship Dawnrider! Our Hyperdrive malfunctioned, and we're stuck on this unknown world!!"
The message is on repeat.
"Mayday! Mayday! This is the transport ship Dawnrider! Our Hyperdrive malfunctioned, and we're stuck on this unknown world!!"
I look at how old the signal is, and it's a ship from the time of The Mandalorian Wars. During the time of Revan and Malek. This distress beacon is hundreds of years old. Whoever was on the transport ship is dead now.
"Lock onto the signal; I want to see their crash site."
Nella does as I asked, and she helps bring the ship down to the location where the beacon says Dawnrider is. After landing, we get out, and I feel a surge from The Force. The world really is one of a kind. I've never felt anything like it before.
My Apprentice walks a little ahead of me with the beacon locator, and the steady increase of the noise tells us we're on the right track. Dagobah has consumed any evidence or notion a ship crashed here. Or is here, to begin with.
"It's right here. From what the beacon says."
She stops in her tracks and turns to me. The swamps and forests have consumed the ship. It's below us. I motion for her to step aside, and I jump up into a tree. Holding out my hand, and grabbing ahold of the ship buried beneath the land.
The ground and trees around us groan as I rip the transport ship from the ground. It's as if Dagobah doesn't want to let it go. It's a large ship, bigger than the one on which Nella and I came in.
Water pours out of it as I rip the door leading inside off.
"Whoever came on this ship is dead by now. That signal was hundreds of years old. If you see anything of value, let me know."
Nella nods her head at my words, and we split up. Heading in different directions on the ship. She'll be going to the cargo bay, and I'm heading for the command bridge. It takes a minute, but I reach it. As I look around, there are growths and old, decayed skeletons.
These people have been dead for a long time. I walk up to the console and try to activate it. But there is no power.
"You're not staying dead..."
I place my hand on the console and use Mechu-Deru to get whatever systems are still working to boot up the systems. It takes a moment, but life returns to the command deck.
"Let's see what you've got to say, old girl..."
There are logs here. It could tell me what happened before their Hyperdrive malfunctioned.
SCRAAA!
My saber cuts through another set of growth and vines. Cutting a path through the Cargo Bay has proven a little difficult, but it's not been too hard.
The reason I'm going so far in the Cargo Bay is from what I read in the manifesto near the entrance. There are some ancient relics in terms of weapons, gear, and haul.
Turns out, Dawnrider was a treasure ship. It was used to transport valuables won in battle. The Cargo Bay is full of priceless artifacts, but I'm only interested in one.
"I can't believe it's here, of all places..."
One of the items on the manifesto was taken from Alderaan and from my house. Before, we were rich and powerful. A very long time ago.
