Chapter 5 : Sanctuary III { Flashback }

"Sirius!!!."

Rita yells out in frustration.

The matron screams out his name causing the young boy to shudder a bit.

Rita sees his fear and decides to calm down so as to be able to handle the matter well.

She rises from her seat and comes to seat in the table beside Sirius, she tries to place her hand on his head but he withdraws immediately with an angry look on his face.

"Sirius, why don't you just try to get along with everyone here, we all just want to help you."

Rita remarks in a calm voice as she withdrew her palm.

"I don't need anyone's help, OK… since no-one wants to play with me unless I ask then I don't need anyone."

Sirius remarks in a loud voice.

"Sirius you are being unnecessarily proud right now, just let go of your ego and humble yourself."

Rita says.

"I'm not being proud, everyone here are just jerks and I'm not going to associate myself with jerks."

Sirius remarks, sticking his tongue out.

"Sirius!!!"

Rita yells out again.

Rita raises her hand to hit Sirius with the young lad putting up his hands over his face.

Rita controls herself and puts her hand down with Sirius putting his hands down.

Rita immediately grabs a hold of his ear and twists it painfully.

"Now you listen to me young man, no-one here is a jerk and we all just want what's best for you, we love you and want to take care of you, why can't you understand that and just let go of such an enormous ego."

Rita remarks as she sort to correct the young lad.

"Let me go… I hate you all, everyone should just leave me alone."

Sirius retorts.

Sirius bites Rita's hand and she let's go of his ear withdrawing from the rather sharp teeth of the boy.

Before Rita can say anything Sirius gets off his chair and runs out of the office swiftly, colliding with a girl that was on her way to the Matron's office.

Sirius and the girl exchange looks for a little while before Rita yells out Sirius's name with a pained shriek.

The silence is broken and Sirius immediately gets to his feet and scampers away from the reach of Rita.

The young girl attempts to speak but Sirius is already too far to call after and so she resigns to picking herself up from the floor.

Rita turns and walks back to her seat after which she places her hands on her head with a tired look on her face.

"Oh gosh, what is this??.... Some times I wonder how such a small child can have such an enormous ego and at the same time be so troublesome, I mean is he really Martha's child??"

Rita asks with a frustrated look on her face.

Rita continues to ponder on her train of thought but is soon jolted out of it by a knock on her door, she puts her head up and goes over to the door to check who had knocked.

"Who's there??"

Rita asks as she opens the door to see the young girl from earlier standing in front with a cute smile.

"Good evening, Matron"

The young girl says as she greets with a smile that quickly puts Rita at ease.

"Eliza, you're here… What are you doing here by this time??"

Rita asks as she ushers the young girl in.

"Uhmm nothing really, I just thought I'd come see you."

Eliza replies.

"Oh wow, that's rather thoughtful of you, well as you can see I'm fine, how are you??"

Rita remarks as her nerves felt at ease.

"I'm alright."

Eliza replies in a casual manner.

"Why don't you come in and have a seat."

Rita gestures with a smile with Eliza obliging as she walked into the office.

"And how is your training going??"

Rita asks as both women take their seats

"Going well, thanks for asking."

Eliza remarks as her attention shifts momentarily to the door like as though she was waiting for something or someone, Rita notices this and proceeds to ask.

"Is something the matter Eliza??... Are you waiting for someone??"

Rita asks.

"Well not really, it's just…."

Eliza trails off.

"What is it?"

Rita asks.

"I ran into a boy like two minutes ago, he seemed to be in to lower class.

He ran into me and we fell, he seemed to be coming from your office."

Eliza replies.

"Oh, It must have been Sirius, he's becoming a handful these days, but why do you look interested in him?"

Rita asks with a raised brow.

"I don't know why but I felt something when we collided into each other.

I stared into his eyes and I saw something, I don't know if it was sadness or frustration, I just can't place my finger on it."

Eliza replies placing her finger on her temple.

"Sadness??... Well I know Sirius has issues but I've not known him to be sad, in fact his ego is the first thing you notice when you see him for the first time."

Rita remarks.

"I didn't see pride in his eyes though, I could sense it but I couldn't see it, what I saw was a cry for help but one that cannot be heard unless you look deeper."

Eliza remarks with a shrug.

"Really??"

Rita asks, putting up a brow.

"Yeah, I know it sounds weird."

Eliza remarks with an awkward look on her face.

"You are the first person to see something else in Sirius apart from pride and an enormous ego, could I ask you to do something for me."

Rita says.

"Do what, matron?"

Eliza asks.

"Help me get across to Sirius. If he continues on this path he is on, he will end up losing his way and falling into the wrong path.

Help me get across to him and save him from his own hands.

I know it's a lot to ask but you are the only one that sees something different from everyone else so I feel like you are best suited to help."

Rita remarks with a solemn look on her face.
