Haven is one of the twelve cities of refuge occupied by the remaining survivors from the first divine war still willing to side with the church.

It is located on the landmass once known as the united kingdom and is home to peoples from diverse cultures numbering at roughly a hundred million.

It is ruled by the military though it is claimed that they still practice democracy in their affairs.

It is known as one of the best Cities of refuge and had undergone a lot of suspicion in the past on how they were able to stay afloat bereft of most problems facing the other cities because of such.

Haven is split into five zones, namely; Haven west, Haven east, Haven south, Haven north and Haven central which is regarded as the capital and seat of power of the great city.

A man covered in blood and dust can be seen running towards a large building like as though he were being chased.

His hair was of a brownish color and his skin resembled that of a Caucasian.

His eyes were of a green color and they resonated with fear as he ran towards the building before him.

He is dressed in military attire and seems exhausted as he hampered toward the entrance of the rather grandiose looking building.

A couple of armed personnel stationed just outside the entrance of the building were currently on patrol.

On seeing the uniformed individual, one of them gestures with his hand forcing the military man to stop in his tracks to catch his breath.

The guards at the entrance exchange looks with each other before finally turning their attention to the individual before them who had managed to catch his breath a little although he was still breathing heavily.

"Who are you and what are you doing here??... State your business."

One of the guard asks gruffly.

"I am Sergeant G. Granger. I have come to meet with the Haven council, please let me go in and meet with them. I have an important piece of information to pass on to them."

The sergeant replies with some difficulty though there was still an alarming sense of urgency in his voice.

"What is this piece of information you want to pass on, you seem unwell."

The female guard asks with a bit of concern for the man standing before her.

"I cannot tell you. My commanding officer asked that I pass it on directly to the council, please let me through, I need to let them know of the crisis that is coming."

Sergeant Granger responds with an ominous tone still heavily breathing as he did so.

"What the hell are you yammering on about??... Danger??... Crisis??...

I guess this is what happens when you voluntarily nominate yourself to go outside the barrier, you come back home rambling like a big buffoon."

The male guard speaks rudely with an expression of disdain on his face.

"Please you do not understand, let me see the council."

The sergeant pleads as he tries to pass through them but the third guard to speak puts his arm forward blocking the path of Granger.

"I'm sorry sergeant but right now the council is having a very important meeting regarding the afford of the people. You are going to have to wait till they are done."

"What??... Why don't you understand that if I do not pass on the message I carry now, later might be a little too late."

The sergeant remarks in a tired voice.

"And I'm telling you that you can't go in.

The council is having a very important meeting at this point and they have ordered that no-one enters until they are finished.

So I suggest you wait for them or else I will be forced to throw you out."

The guard threatens with an annoyed look on his face. The other guards seat and watch the drama before them with interest.

"….."

Sergeant Granger stares at the guard with a mixture of frustration and fear in his eyes, trying to form words in his mumbled up brain to try and convince the obstinate guard before him.

"Now, Grey maybe…."

The female guard trails off.

"Maybe what??.. We should let him through and risk our jobs??... Have you forgotten what the general said??... If anyone gets in, we all get kicked out. I don't know about you but I'm not about to put my job on the line for some raving lunatic."

Grey cuts her off rudely with the sergeant Granger still looking at him.

"Is that it??... Are you really not going to let me through??"

Granger asks with one eye on the door and his fists tightened.

"I don't know if you've been hearing what I've been saying so let me spell it out for you; no-one goes in there until the council meeting is concluded so I suggest you run back from where you came from."

Grey replies with a tone of finality and disrespect with Granger putting his head down in defeat.

"Fine then, as you wish…."

Granger mutters under his breath.
