The name of the guild

"I know that," Hecathe sighed as he responded, "But still look into it."

"Why, Captain?" Xanie questioned as she sent him another message, "Is there something wrong with the timing?"

"It's because of Marvin."

"..." Xanie was silent for a minute as she heard that name and only after a moment of silence did she cautiously reply, "What about him, Captain?"

Hecathe gulped as he wondered if the woman knew about the dead friendship between Alphius and Marvin, "He would never believe something that ridiculous unless he has proof."

"Huh?" Xanie sounded to be surprised as she questioned, "Captain, I thought you two cut ties with each other..."

"We did," Hecathe clicked his tongue as he replied, "But that does not mean we would be considered enemies."

"..."

"We were once friends and the trust that had been built up between us can't be broken that easily," For some reason, Hecathe couldn't help but feel a little awkward as he said such cheesy lines since he hardly even knew that man called Marvin, "We were once friends and although we might not have the same relationship right now, we still trust each other."

"Captain," Xanie gulped as she found Hecathe's words to be a bit shocking, "The more I talk to you, the more I realize that I had guessed it right."

Hecathe frowned as he asked, "Guessed what right?"

"You are a soft man on the inside!" Xanie exclaimed and Hecathe fell speechless.

"..."

It was certainly the first time in his life someone had said such a thing to him.

"You are like those fruits with a hard shell but all mushy on the inside," Xannie added proudly as if she was complimenting the man.

"Okay, stop. I got it," Hecathe interjected.

"Captain, I like this new side of you!"

"Does it not even embarrass you to say cheesy things like that?" Hecathe questioned as he rubbed his head.

"Embarrassed?" Xanie chuckled as she confidently responded, "What's the use of embarrassment? Does it feed you?"

"..."

Well, it's not like I feed you either...

"In any case, I'll help you, Captain!" Xanie sent him another message, "No matter what it is that you want me to do, I would try my best to help you."

Hecathe nodded his head, feeling a little pleased as he concluded in his mind that although this woman was sometimes stupid and too emotional, she was still loyal, both in his real world and this one as well.

"Captain, I'll look into it. Give me a day or two."

"You can take your time," Hecathe responded with his cold indifferent tone, "Just remember to get this job done by the next few days so that I can give you the next task."

"Okay, Captain!" Xanie enthusiastically exclaimed, "By the way, there was something else I wanted to inform you as well."

"Hmm?" Hecathe frowned as he had a foreboding feeling in his stomach.

"The guards headed to Zeblor to find you but it seems that the three willows of spring already know about you."

"What?!" Hecathe's eyes widened as he heard this shocking information, "They know I'm in Ocasia?"

"No. That's not it. They only know that you've gone missing."

Hecathe sighed in relief but eventually choked on that sigh when he heard the woman continue.

"They aren't showing it but they have certainly sent out people to search for you in secret so you must be careful, Captain. Don't trust strangers easily."

Hecathe almost found that last suggestion a bit laughable since he hardly ever trusted anyone.

"Is there something else I can do for you?" Xanie asked.

"No, that's it for now. Contact me as soon as you find the information I'm looking for," Hecathe replied.

"Got it," Xanie responded and Hecathe put his hand down as he took out Alphius's diary from his suitcase.

Alphius had stopped writing this diary around the time after Orgon's death so the rest of the pages were left blank.

Hecathe picked up a pen and turned a new page as he started writing the continuation, noting down all the events that had happened to him after he had transmigrated here.

Keeping a diary was perhaps the most stupid thing a person could do seeing as how the secrets held within a diary could be used against you, but right now, this was not the case since the secrets held within this diary just proved Alphius's innocence.

He sat down straight for a few hours and when he was finally done writing everything, he closed the diary and sighed as if showing that he had been really exhausted.

It wasn't exactly wrong since he really had been exhausted but taking a rest was something that never existed in Hecathe's life.

He stretched his hands and stood up before changing his clothes and cleaning the cloak before wearing it over his clothes once again as he got ready to go out of the room.

He opened the door to be greeted with a face that was a bit too close to his liking.

Hecathe almost had another heart attack but he naturally didn't let it show on his face this time as he looked back at the woman and questioned, "What are you doing here?"

The landlady smiled and due to the darkness that shrouded the hallway, her smile looked to be wicked as she spoke, "Since the contract has been officially signed, let's get to work."

"..."

"You don't even know which guild you have to join, do you?" The woman asked.

Hecathe's eyes narrowed down on her and he looked to be unimpressed as he responded, "How would I know if you never told me?"

The woman chuckled as she nodded her head, "Then let me tell you now."

"Hmm."

"Golden fire," The woman spoke up as she informed him, "It's quite a famous guild, and lucky for you, they are currently hiring hunters for a temporary mission."

The woman held up a poster and showed it to the man as she continued, "Just take this with you and go on a mission with them. If they see talent in you, they would certainly try to hire you as a permanent member."
