Mother and Daughter

Cassadrei's POV

Cookie scrambled in the air, vaulting higher than several fits and stood transfixed in mid-air. He let out a joyous yelp, and put himself down then continued the same manuever again and again. Once, he turned a brilliant blue, illuminating the entire island in his glow and suddenly everything became too warm.

My Mother, The Queen, sat on a small bench by the side of the road, carefully watching the display as my father took down notes. There was an air of great enthusiasm in his face, something akin to this always appears when he is submerged in his scholarly pursuits. He looked at Cookie, mentally calculating the height of his leap and jotted it down.

"Why do you have to spend so much time with this notebook?" My mother glared at him.

Father was deeply immersed in his studies, so it took a while for him to realize that he was being referred to.
