Lady Aida bowed and raised up, "Thank you, your Highnesses. I shall take my leave now."
They did not answer her as they continued looking at her, showing their anger at her and she took that as a sign to leave. She turned around and quickly made her way out of the door, shutting it after her. Queen Mother sat back down and Quinn did the same.
Queen Mother placed a hand on Quinn's hand that was resting on the table. She looked at her with concern, "I am sorry, Quinn. Lady Aida has no etiquette and Queen Ellen has been filling her head with ideas of becoming Vincent's Queen."
Quinn smiled at her, "I understand, mother and you did warn me about her."
Queen Mother also smiled and retracted her hand from Quinn's. "Yes, I did, and I love how you handled her. Like a true Queen, you made her know her place."
"Yes, she was out of line." She replied and as she thought of Lady Aida's visit, she added, "Why was she even here?"
"She and the rest of the women in the palace are supposed to come and greet me in the morning everyday since I am Queen Mother. That is part of our rules in the palace."
"Those are very honorable rules." Quinn commented and Queen Mother nodded as she said, "Indeed. From tomorrow, I will show the duties that I told you are required of you as a Queen."
"Yes, mother. Thank you."
Queen Mother looked at her with a smile and then glanced at the maids standing at the entrance, "Daina, come and clear the table."
The maid named Daina looked up and answered, "Yes, your Highness."
The maid walked to the table and started picking up their used plates just as the door of the chamber opened and Vincent walked in. He smiled as his gaze landed on Quinn. She also smiled back and stood up as he approached them.
"Vincent, you are back early. We were enjoying each other's company so much." Queen Mother said as he reached them.
He smiled at his mother as he came to stand beside Quinn and take her hand. "Yes, you will have more than enough time to enjoy each other's company tomorrow, but for today, I postponed some of my meetings to train Quinn."
"I understand, that is very generous of you to do. I can see how much you care about her." Queen Mother said as she looked between them.
"Yes, I do very much." Vincent replied as stared into Quinn's eyes. She stared back into his eyes as she smiled and said, "Thank you for making such an effort to train me."
"It's my pleasure to see you content, my Queen." Vincent gave a low reply in his deep voice, making her want to close the distance between them and kiss him.
He turned to his mother, "We shall take our leave, mother."
"Good bye, mother." Quinn added, and Queen Mother replied to them both, "I will see you tonight, Vincent and you, Quinn, tomorrow. Have a nice time training."
"We will make sure to." Vincent replied and led Quinn to the door. He opened it and they walked out to her maids and his guards outside.
They started walking out of the courtyard and their servants followed them. As they left Queen Mother's court, Vincent turned to her maids and his guards, "We will take too much time in the training field. You should go back to your stations and rest until Caesar calls you."
The maids and guards all bowed at him as Quinn watched how generous he was being to his servants. The servants chorused, "Yes, your Majesty. We thank his Majesty."
Vincent nodded and they all turned around to go to their stations while Caesar, as the King's personal guard, stayed walking behind the King and Queen. Vincent glanced at Quinn as she looked at the path ahead, "Do you feel any different than this morning?"
She turned her gaze to him, "Yes, my senses are even sharper, and I feel stronger than I have ever felt before."
"That is good. By the time we are done training, I am sure that you would be able to tell what powers you have."
"Okay, but when can I see your wings again? They are so captivating and I want to touch them and see them up close. We were too occupied yesterday for me to do any of that."
Vincent chuckled, "I will show them to you again when we go back to your chamber after the training. I am also glad that you like them very much."
"I am entranced by them."
"And I am entranced by you, my Queen. You are so much more than I expected as my mate, and I thought that you would hate me for taking you away from your family and making that deal." He said as he looked at her sincerely.
"I can never hate you, Vincent. You are such a good man, through and through. I also understand that you did all that for your health, to break the curse and to fulfill destiny - for me to complete you as your mate."
"Thank you for understanding and being you, Quinn." He said as he paused, making her stop as well walking just as they reached the entrance of the training field. He raised his hand and cupped her cheek as he looked into her eyes, "I love you, Quinn, and I would always want you to be by my side. I cannot live without you."
She looked back into his eyes as she felt her heart squeeze in happiness at how he loved her. She smiled to ease his worry, "Vincent, do not worry, I will not leave now that the curse is broken. I love you and I never want to leave you."
He smiled back at her and leaned in closer to her. He pressed a kiss on her cheek, right beside her lips and pulled away, making her breathing become labored as her gaze went to his lips.
