"Yes, I was very delighted to see them, they are amazing." She added as she glanced at Vincent in admiration.
"I am glad that you like them. They are a big part of him that he had to hide away from many, and I am sure that he is glad that you like them." Queen Mother said as she started eating her food.
"Yes, I am." Vincent said as he glanced at Quinn. He picked up his own plate and started placing each dish on it as Quinn started eating.
"I have also been wanting to ask you, Vincent. What kind of punishment did you pass onto Queen Ellen?" Queen Mother asked as she paused from eating while he had also already started eating.
"She is to stay in her room for a week with no food except porridge, and no one was to go to her or talk to her for that week."
"Good, but I would have liked it more if you had added more days to that week, but since you already passed it out then we can only leave it at that." Queen Mother said in a solemn tone.
Vincent chuckled and Quinn joined him, "Yes, mother. I knew that you would prefer a more severe punishment for her after all that she had put us through, but since it is her first time provoking the Queen, it has to be light."
"Very well, I understand." Queen Mother replied as she finished eating the food on her plate.
Vincent also finished eating, leaving Quinn with her plate almost empty as well. He glanced at Queen mother then brought his gaze to Quinn, "I am going to leave you two now. I have palace matters to attend to. After I am done, I will come back to go for that training."
"Training? What training?" Queen Mother asked as she looked between Vincent and Quinn.
"Yes, Quinn used to train as a soldier back in their kingdom even though she was not one, but a Princess. She wanted to continue her training here so that she would not forget and I think that she should as well to be able to protect herself whenever." Vincent explained to his mother.
Queen Mother nodded as realization showed on her face, "Ah, I see. That is something very good, I know how to fight myself since as royalty, assassins could be sent at any time."
"Yes, that was our view as well in our kingdom." Quinn replied as she finished eating her food and placed her fork down beside her plate. She picked up the glass of orange juice on the other side of the plate and sipped it.
Vincent stood up and turned to Quinn, he leaned in and pressed his lips on her forehead as he held onto the side of her head with his left hand. As he leaned back and straightened up, he said, "I will see you soon, my Queen."
Her lips turned up into a smile as she looked at him, "Until then, my King."
He let out a chuckle at the way she addressed him and turned to his mother who had been watching them with a smile on her lips. "Until I return, mother."
"Alright, Vincent, I will see you then." Queen Mother replied and he turned around to walk to the door as Quinn stared at him. She continued staring at him until he left the chambers and closed the door.
"I am very glad that Vincent's mate is you, a Queen that loves him purely from her heart and one that is so good natured." Queen Mother said as she watched Quinn stare after the King.
What she said brought Quinn's attention back to her and she smiled broadly. "Thank you, mother. I am also very glad to have you as my mother in law."
"That is good to know, Quinn." Queen Mother replied just as a knock came on the door of the chamber.
Both of them turned their gaze to the door, and Queen Mother answered, "Come in."
The door opened and Lady Aida walked in. The maids at the door bowed at her in greeting. She made her way to Queen Mother and bowed at then at Quinn even though her face showed that she didn't want to as she scowled at her. "Good morning, your Highnesses."
"Good morning, Aida." Queen Mother answered as she glanced at her uncaring.
"Good morning." Quinn answered and Lady raised up from her bow. As she did this, she saw Vincent's mark on Quinn's neck and she glared at Quinn.
"How dare you bear the King's mark? You are not worthy of it! I am. I am the one that is meant to be his and be Queen!" Lady Aida yelled through clenched teeth in anger as she kept glaring at Quinn.
Queen Mother stood up abruptly as she gave Lady Aida a deadly stare to show her anger, "How dare she, Aida? How dare you address the Queen that way? You are not Queen, Aida and you will never be."
Lady Aida's eyes widened in fear as she realized the intensity of what she had done. Quinn also stood up from her seat and glanced at Lady Aida calmly, "If you were worthy of his mark, you would be the one bearing it. Know your place, Aida. I am the King's mate and your Queen, mind your tongue or the punishment you will receive will be worse than your aunt's."
Lady Aida looked terrified as her fingers clutched her skirts. She seemed to understand that she was at the mercy of the Queen. "I-I apologize, I slipped. I will never want to take your place, your Highness. Queen Mother, please forgive me."
"I cannot forgive you unless your Queen has forgiven you." Queen Mother said as she looked firmly at Lady Aida.
Lady Aida looked uncomfortable and angry. She turned to Quinn, "Please forgive me, your Highness."
Quinn glanced at her with a hard look as she was still angry at the Lady's outburst. "You are forgiven."
