I’d Rather not Lie or Hurt the Man I love.

"Make a guess." The Man's deep and familiar voice made her anxious. She blinked and started taking slow steps backward. She was almost close to the door when the man let out a sigh. "I am here to give you something."

She nodded. The man pulled out a phone. His hands covered in gloves. Sang Qian's hands trembled lightly and she snatched the phone nervously. She explored it. A well working phone.

"What is this for?" She looked back at him.

"You asked for help three years ago." The Man crossed his arms over his chest.

"Um, Yes but, who are you?" She asked as a weird sensation engulfed her.

The man stepped closer pulling a gun out. She stepped back. He pointed the gun on her head. "Will you go inside now, or do you want me to end you here?" His voice was calm.

She frowned. The voice was too familiar but deeper. And even the words, they seemed like words of someone she knew. She couldn't pin point who it was. She was too scared to think. Her trauma was still somewhere alive within her. She simply nodded her head and hurried inside.

The man removed his mask as soon as she walked inside. A smirk plastered on his lips. He pulled his phone out. "Mr Kim, please bring the car downstairs."

The other end replied instantly. "Yes Mr Wang." Wang Zhao leaned back against the wall. He sighed and a cold glint passed his eyes. "So, you did ask for some help three years ago." He was hit by a realization as he took off the small device on his neck.

He cleared his throat and started walking away.

Sang Qian on the other hand walked straight to her room. She walked to the couch and searched through the phone hurriedly. She opened the gallery and it was empty. She searched through the phone when suddenly she realized something. "I promised Wang Zhao, I cannot mess this up!" She mumbled to herself.

She instantly switched off the phone and controlled her desire to find that one proof with verification. She didn't care. She had moved on, so why would she be worried about the wedding.

She threw the phone on the couch and walked to the kitchen. Her own phone which was on the table, buzzed again. She walked to it and lifted it up. Again a text from Mi Chan. She twitched her lips and opened the chat box.

As she read the text, her brows raised upper with time and her lips twitched down into a funny face. She took a deep breath. Putting the phone back inside her pocket, she walked to the door and opened it.

She saw Mi Chan, dressed in a rather casual attire which wasn't like her usual self. Mi Chan walked inside without another word. Sang Qian looked back. "What brings you here?" She asked with a sigh.

Mi Chan slumped herself on the couch. "I will stay here for the night." She exclaimed in a usually calm tone.

Sang Qian frowned. "I won't allow you to, who do you think you are?! Get out!" She noticed Mi Chan's tired face. Her heart wasn't cold. She was in a bad mood already and she didn't have enough energy to argue with Mi Chan.

Mi Chan on the other hand had dimmed eyes. She looked almost sick. She raised her head to look at Sang Qian who was in deep thoughts. She looked down again and closed her eyes.

Sang Qian walked to the kitchen and poured some water for both of them. She placed the water in front of Mi Chan. "At least you need to tell me the reason, otherwise you can't stay here."

Mi Chan looked up again. Her eyes glistening with tears. "I hate myself for what I am doing. I just don't want to face Wang Zhao and his family for today."

Sang Qian sighed. "Yes even I hate you for that but, running away isn't a solution. It will make it even difficult for you to face them." She felt bad for Mi Chan. The feeling when you regret what you did was the worst. She had been through the same.

Mi Chan blinked and sipped the water. "I am sorry, I.. just can't justify myself but if you were in my shoes. You would have done the same thing."

Sang Qian leaned back. "I'd rather not lie to or hurt the man I love." Mi Chan nodded her head but didn't say anything in protest.

Sang Qian chugged down the whole glass of water. "Use the guest room for sleeping. And this is the last time, you're having a chance to stay here."

Mi Chan pursed her lips. "Can I get something to eat?"

Sang Qian looked back. "Go and take some rest. I will prepare something once I am done taking a bath."

Mi Chan smiled back at Sang Qian and the latter ignored it and walked inside her room closing the door with a bang.

Mi Chan flinched. She sighed. "Why do I feel so bad and sorry for myself, and others as well?"

She complained out loud and walked to the guest room. Once they lived there together, so, it didn't take much effort to know where everything might be.

Wang Zhao leaned back against the seat of his car. His thoughts drifted to Mi Chan. He had clearly seen her step out of the elevator on Sang Qian's floor. A smirk was on his lips. 'Sometimes I wonder, am I being fooled by both of them?' He thought to himself.

He sighed as pain shot up when his migraine started acting up. He hissed with pain. "I might have skipped my medication and these contact lenses burn, I haven't used them in years!" He complained.

Mr Kim, who was driving had a worried expression on his face. He took a note of everything and lately he had witnessed that almost everyday, his boss had been suffering from head aches.

He clenched his jaw. He felt really bad for Wang Zhao at times. If only he could tell someone who truly cared for him.

He didn't like Mi Chan from the start. He had dropped her at the hotels and apartment various times. He didn't have courage to expose her to his boss because he loved her.

He cared about his boss a lot, so eventually he didn't want to loose the job and be labeled as someone who tried to pull the love birds apart.

His grip on the steering wheel tightened. He looked back at his boss who had closed his eyes and had clenched his fists. He felt bad.

Sang Qian served the food for Mi Chan who was patiently waiting at the dining table. Mi Chan sniffed and smiled. "I wonder who would be the lucky person to have you by his side sister Qian. Your delicious food is.."

Sang Qian cut her off. "Are you eating or shall I take it back?" She asked with a frown.

Both the Antagonist and Protagonist were on the same table, eating food. No wonder, the weird atmosphere. Both of them tired and sad for some random reason in their life.

It is hard to decide who is an Antagonist and a Protagonist? Maybe the one whose story we know and is justified is the Hero in our perspective and the other person whose Story we don't know is the villain?

Mi Chan looked up at Sang Qian. "Can you be my bridesmaid?" she asked in a low voice.

"Why?" Sang Qian stuffed her mouth as she questioned.

"Please." Mi Chan bit her lip.

Sang Qian nodded her head after a few seconds of silent. She didn't look up as the hurt and anger was clear in her eyes but she knew Mi Chan really had no one to be by her side.

Wang Yuhan looked out of the small window in his room. It was night time. He couldn't fall asleep. His mind wandered to Sang Qian's words that night. He pursed his lips.

Ji Jin loved him? He questioned himself. Then why didn't she even try to approach him. Its been a week since the engagement party and she hasn't once contacted him. Not even a single text from her.

He pursed his lips and decided to call her. The ring went through. He heard her sleepy voice from the other end. "Yuhan, I am sleeping right now. Is it important?"

He sighed. "Yes." He knew he was selfish but he needed to talk to her. He heard another reply from her side. "Give me a minute then."

He could hear the faint voice of a man coming from behind. His grip on the phone unintentionally tightened. He frowned. "Are you hooking up again?" He asked with a frown on his face.

Ji Jin sighed on the other end. "Does that matter? And you should not interfere in my business because you have got to focus on Sang Qian." She backfired him. He clenched his other fist. "Are you doing this on purpose?"

She scoffed. "Would you please tell me what is wrong? Why can't you sleep?" He ended the call right away. He didn't want to talk to her anymore. He slumped himself on the bed. "Damn you Jin!" He was affected by her and he knew it! That thought gave him even more reasons to get angry!

***

Ji Jin was standing on the balcony in her night dress. She looked back at 'THE MAN' laying peacefully on her bed while he played with his phone. She sighed and walked to him, kicking him. He groaned.

She smacked his head. "Why can't you shut up! You're always chatting with that girlfriend of yours! Get out of my room!"

"Oh com'on sister! It's not my fault that your lover gets jealous over little things. Is it again like last time?" The boy looked at her with a frown.

Ji Jin nodded her head like a kid. The boy patted her head, standing up. "It's okay sister. He really is protective of you. Why don't you just clarify to him?"

Ji Jin sighed. "I don't want to waste my time. He won't believe me anyway."

The boy ruffled her hair and walked out. Ji Jin was really fell asleep while they were watching a movie in her room. She wondered how could Wang Yuhan accuse her for no reason?

Li Zinhuo was sitting in the small bar in his apartment. His phone buzzed but he ignored it as he poured himself a drink. His eyes were glistening with sadness.

Slowly tears made their way in his eyes and rolled down his cheeks. He sipped the alcohol and a sob escaped his lips. "I lost everyone I ever loved!" He yelled.

He felt heavy hearted. He sobbed hard placing his head on the counter. There was no hope for him. He couldn't see the woman he loved getting married to another man. Especially Wang Zhao, his best friend.

He would have to face them almost everyday and he didn't know what else could he do to heal this pain in his heart.

He walked to that his room and opened the door. He looked around and a sigh escaped his lips. He slumped himself on the bed. "Forget her Li Zinhuo. It's already too late. Just move on!" He yelled again.

He punched his hand against the wall. There was a small crack but he could care less. The pain in his hand was more bearable than the pain in his heart. He felt relaxed. A sigh escaped his lips as he looked at his bleeding knuckles.

His phone buzzed. He looked at the screen, that flashed his mother's caller ID. He gulped. His mother hadn't attended the engagement so she probably didn't see Mi Chan with Wang Zhao.

He answered the call. "Yes mom?" He questioned.

"You have got yourself into a bigger mess this time. We didn't know your wife was the daughter of the Mayor of the Country?! He is such a dangerous man!" His mother complained.

Li Zinhuo sighed when he heard the word 'wife'. "Mom, I haven't met her in last three years. I told you. We are no longer together. She is no longer a part of my life. She has moved on!" he said slightly agitated.

"Really? Then why did I receive a text from her.." Li Zinhuo's phone died. He pursed his lips and threw the phone at the wall. Breaking it into pieces and instant regret was on his face. He twitched his lips very lightly.
