The Safe Place

Apryl was unsure of what direction they were driving in. Was it in the same direction or the opposite of where she lived? She couldn't tell as all the building and area they passed by looked the same to her.

Chester was the one driving since they were taking his car. In her opinion she thought he was worse than Keith who wasn't that great of a driver himself. Callum was sitting in the passenger seat next to him which left Keith and Apryl to sit together in the back. Without voicing it, both of them couldn't help but think that Callum had done that on purpose though he'd deny it if asked.

The place where Chester wanted to take them too wasn't more than half an hour drive from the school. Which was good in some ways, but at the back of Apryl's mind she knew that this shift in living space if it worked out would mean that she would either have to figure out how to drive herself, rely on rides to school, or leave early and expect to have to walk a long way each day.

Chester didn't give much of an indication to them about anything as he spent the better half of the drive on the phone with someone whose voice they couldn't hear. Keith figured though that it had something to do with the person who was waiting outside for them when they finally pulled up to a non marked building that looked rather well secured and built but didn't draw much attention to itself at the same time.

Chester was the first one to step out once the car was parked. He talked with the man who shook his had for a few moments before he indicated that it was safe for everyone to get out.

"I thought that you told that you only needed help getting one person situated?" The man asked in a joking tone when he noticed that the other had brought three people with him and not one.

"The girl is the one that needs help. The other two are just my nosy friends who want to see what exactly is going on here." He replied as he glanced back at the other. Apryl seemed cautious about the unfamiliar place that she found herself standing in front of while Callum and Keith on the other hand seemed as eager as ever to go exploring and find out more about this place.

"I see." The man replied as he turned his attention over to Apryl who appeared to be sizing him up. Without saying anything it was quite obvious to her that he was another werewolf based upon his posture and the smell that came from him even though like the others it was still a rather muted.

"The name's Jeff and I'm the one who's been helping Chester to work on this beauty that you see right here behind me." He told as he held out his hand to shake hers and the others.

"It might not look like much but I'm pretty sure that you'll be impressed once you see the inside." He told them turning to lead the way after he had shook each of their hands.

"Is it really as impressive as he says?" Callum whispered as he came closer to stand by the other. Chester glanced down at him.

"You'll have to wait the five minutes until we get inside to see for yourself." He replied following after Jeff without saying another word. This caused Callum to pout, he hated it when the other wouldn't give anything away to him. He didn't care that he was five minutes away from finding out, he wanted to a yes or now then and there.

Keith and Apryl walked in a little slower than the others, mostly because Apryl was a touch hesitant about what she was getting ready to walk into. It wasn't that she suddenly didn't trust Chester, she just wasn't fond on new places and new people. Putting them together made her more on edge.

Keith either sensed this about her or didn't want her to feel left behind and since he wasn't in as much of a rush to see what awaited them inside as Callum was, he didn't mind taking his time walking in with Apryl who seemed to appreciate having someone with her even though she didn't verbalize this to him.

Once they entered the building, the smell and feel of it completely changed. The front made it look like the typical hotel lobby that anyone would see minus the staff manning the front of it. There was even a vase of flowers at the front desk.

Jeff motioned for everyone to keep following him back until they reached an elevator which showed that there were four different floors on the building. One leading up and the other lead bellow. He pressed the button on the elevator that indicated that he wanted to head down. It took hardly any time for the elevator to reach them and he allowed everyone to enter ahead of him.

"Now I expect that all of you will be quite surprised by what you're about to see." Jeff said as he turned to face everyone.

"And it really is quite the scene once you see it for the first time. So much so that some of you might not be able to resist shifting." He continued, somehow Callum felt that was directed at him and when he looked up he was surprised to see that Jeff's eyes had landed on him for a brief second. What had Chester told him about the smaller werewolf? He would have to yell at the other about it later whatever it was.

His anger disappeared almost instantly however when Jeff put in a pin when the elevator door requested one after opening. The site was truly magical like nothing that anyone of them had seen since they had swapped living like wolves into adopting the human lifestyle.
