Going Well

The weekend passed by surprisingly well. Oreo and Timid were adjusting to the new space well. They still weren't fond of the unfamiliar werewolves, but they were slowly getting more comfortable around them.

Oreo didn't have much of a choice since Jeff was going to be the one helping him get set up with a job. He also had already planned it so that the black and white wolf could use one of the hotel rooms on the upper floor for the clothes and other things he would be keeping.

The slow acclimation however meant that Keith and Callum didn't get to enjoy the room again as much as they had been wanting to.

Apryl had asked them not to stress out the two omegas who were still getting used to the second shift.

Jeff wouldn't let them occupy the floor below that one either as he wasn't finished putting everything together yet. They would have to wait a while longer for that.

Apryl used it as a good excuse though to turn it into a chance for everyone to study together for a set period of time on both Saturday and Sunday. Even Chester who hadn't exactly been thrilled about the idea of it. He had wanted to spend the weekend together alone with Callum but agreed that studying was important with midterms coming up sooner rather than later.

Since Oreo wasn't going to be using it yet, they took over the room that Jeff said he could have as there was plenty of space for them all to work in there together.

Chester and Apryl ended up being the two most focused members of the group as they tried to catch up on getting what they needed to get done for the week ahead.

Callum was happy to help the female werewolf but he would get easily distracted by something that would go through his mind either to talk or ask about which would derail things.

Keith don't join in the conversation too much didn't have much better luck focusing on his studies as he would get distracted paying attention to what Apryl was doing or saying which didn't go unmissed by Chester who texted him about it rather than talk to his friend straight about it with the other two being there.

Keith gave him an odd look when he saw what the other had asked- 'if you like her, why not ask her to be your mate?' as straight forward as was expected of his friend. Keith hasn't ready to take that kind of step yet though.

He had still been thinking about it but hadn't determined if he wanted to act on his feelings on let things continue as they were going until he was certain that he wanted to be with the female werewolf or she showed signs of being interested in him as well.

At the current moment in time, he didn't see any indication that Apryl returned his feelings at any kind of level. Mates and such probably won't even on her mind with everything else that was going.

'I never said I was interested in her to you.' Keith replied. Chester was of course better at hiding his emotions and thoughts so his expression when he read the text didn't give much of anything away as far as what he was thinking.

'Suit yourself. Don't get grumpy though if someone else comes along who asks and steals her away first.' Keith couldn't stop himself from huffing as the read the text the other sent even though he knew it was meant as a tease.

Of course Keith was aware of the fact that someone else could come along and ask Apryl to be his mate or try to court her, her family didn't currently have an alpha with her father being gone which meant there was no technical reason why her or any of her siblings couldn't pick a mate if they so wished.

Not only that but it would be easier to separate from her pack but still stay in touch with her family while starting one of her own. Human technology meant that that decision wasn't as hard as it used to be. It was one of the few benefits of living among humans.

It was also a two part thing in that Apryl had to decide what she wanted. Even if he did express that he had an interest in being her mate, if he said she didn't want to do that or was not ready- his feelings or desires at that point wouldn't matter.

He decided to put his phone down instead of getting stuck on this matter when it was moot at the current moment in time. It didn't stop him from sticking his tongue out at the other werewolf who raised his eyebrow at him.

Things were starting to go well right at the current moment in time, Keith didn't want to do anything to disrupt it when there was enough concern from things happening on the outside that could do just that.

With it being Sunday, they would just focus on studying today and maybe get lunch later. Apryl usually went back home before too late in the afternoon so she could be around her family and help with dinner.

She had stopped sleeping in her room with everything that was going and spent the nights with the rest of her family as she felt it would be safer if anything were to happen.

Since the small stand off between her and Brian that bad taken place, he hadn't said much of anything else to her, but she could feel the shift in his attitude towards her.

She didn't like, but wouldn't do anything to act on it as long as the unspoken peace was maintained between them long enough for her to finish moving her family out and restarting life once again.

Perhaps once all that was taken care of and things were calm between the semesters, she could take the time to find out what happened with her father and if he was even still alive. She would like to think that he would be, but with how much time had past since everything that happened- there was no way for her to be certain.
