SOS

SOS had been the code word that Apryl and the others agreed that they would rely on if anything should go wrong during this process. They had even set up a group text chat so that everyone would see it rather than one of them having to text it to the others individually.

Keith knew that when he had gotten the text that he wasn't the only one who had seen it. But the question that was bothering him was why it was being sent so late. It was almost midnight, shouldn't Apryl already be asleep. Before he had a chance to ask her what was going on Chester had already beaten him to it. He knew that he should've expected that since the other werewolf hardly slept much with everything that he had going on.

Had something happened with Brian already? Or was it another matter that was bothering her? He had the feeling that she wouldn't use the code word for anything senseless and that was what had him getting dressed again even if he had just settled down for the night. Whatever it was, he knew that he wouldn't be able to sleep until he knew exactly what was going on and what to be done.

He messaged after Chester when he noticed that the female werewolf hadn't replied to what the other had said. This action was met with a call from Chester who was likely as concerned over this matter as he was in his own way.

"She hasn't replied to you yet either?" Chester asked as soon as the other had answered his call.

"Not yet, it's late though so there might be a reason for it or something to discuss with her family if there needs to be a sudden change in plans." Keith replied as he kept his eyes fixed on the text as he waited for a response. By the fact that Callum hadn't said anything, he could only assume that the other was already asleep which meant that Chester would have to wake him up if they needed help with anything.

"Do you think that there's something that we should be doing rather than just waiting here to get a response back?" Keith asked after a short period more of time had passed without Apryl replying.

"Not yet, it's pointless to act when we don't know what is going on or what direction of action that we should take." Chester told his friend already knowing how much he was worrying without having to explicitly tell the other.

When Apryl finally did reply and explain what was going on, it didn't help him to feel much better as she explained the situation the best she could. Being on the phone with Chester as he read and replied to what she sent meant that he had to hold back the urge he felt to growl in response to what the female werewolf said. Brian was on to whatever was going and was planning something with her family that he wasn't willing to disclose beyond the fact that he wasn't going to allow them to leave.

"Don't even think about getting ahead of yourself. We're going to do something about this together." Chester warned his friend as he could feel the quiet tension that was coming from the other end of the phone. Keith took a deep breath but didn't say anything. For the other werewolf, it was enough to know that his friend had listened to what he was saying.

Keith guessed by the breaks in the text that Apryl was probably talking with her mother or someone else as she would reply, pause for a few minutes, and reply again. It was enough though for the other two to get an idea of what as going on and why she would be upset or stressed out.

"What do suggest the best kind of option would be in this tpye of situation?" Keith asked deferring to his friend who he figured would be able to think more rational than he could at that moment time. Chester didn't reply right away to him but he could tell by the noise on the other end of the phone that he was putting together a response to send to Apryl.

"I don't think that we should move too quickly if we don't know what Brian is planning. You would know better than anyone probably what he might be planning. I'm not saying to wait until something happens though. Just wait enough untill we can get an idea of what is going on."

"Do you have someone who might be able to help with that?" The other werewolf asked knowing that he didn't have the same resources that he could reply on like his friend did.

"I might but it would require working through some channels that you'r'e not thrilled with." Chester replied honestly. It would still talk time to get certain pieces together and there would have to be evidence gathered in order to make a move, but he knew someone who wouldn't mind doing tailing in order to get that type of evidence.

"Keep me out of it and I don't care what you do." was Keith's reply. He didn't care what the other did as long as he wasn't required to stand against Brian in any type of human trial setting or asked to work with anyone from that side, werewolf or human didn't matter. He didn't trust them enough to say what needed to be said. He also didn't trust that in such a setting he would have enough self-control to not try and kill the other and deal with it himself rather than letting the process work itself through. He didn't think that anything other than death was fitting for Brian.

"Alright. I'll do my best to make it clear that you don't want to be involved in any part of it. I can't make the promise that no one will approach you about this matter, but if you do it'll on their own and not because I told them to." Chester assured his friend.

This required him to end the call however as he knew there was one he could get in touch with who would likely still be awake at this time of night. He didn't want to put anything off since Apryl had sent the SOS message which meant that she felt that it was something serious.
